Try the mutation “gas tank” i think its called. Whenever you kill a common infected it spawns a tank but every time you kill a tank it spawns a car. Its pure chaos
Sounds like a blast lol, I'll have to look that up. Custom mutations are underrated. I think I've had even more fun with goofy mutations than with workshop maps

There's a mutation called Witch Parade that turns all commons into wandering witches and disables Special Infected, you could do that one to maximize "Boss Infected that I have speedran past"

For me the hardest tank is the parish bridge tank expert ...i dodged the rock it threw cuz i was far then when it hit a car we all got hit it flying farther than the rock and the car was spinning on the air
I have a basic understanding on coding mutations. I know how disable all special infected and commons, while only spwaning tanks. So hypotectically, I can make tanks spwan like commons while reducing their health and speed.
I kinda want to see this lol. I can just imagine it using a slightly scaled down tank for a skin, and each keeps the tank attacks (lol with them hucking smaller rocks for the throw 😂) and pathing wonkily all over the place like commons ... That'd obviously be a lot of work, not tryna suggest it at you or anything, just having fun riffing off the vibe your comment inspired for me XD
Me and my boys spent 3 plainly days with no sleep beating all lfd1&2 maps on expert tank run. It really fucked me up mentally but we did complete it all 😂

Me and my friend have finished every campaign in tank run except for the Sacrifice, we think it can not be done because the tank had to be killed In order to continue, but everytime you kill one another spawns, yeah, took as countless attempts to finish the campaigns
That train car bit is SUCH A PAIN on this mutation. I've played it with a solid team & it just is ridiculous to pull it off without lowering the difficulty. IMO it could arguably use a patch of some kind there, like maybe force the team to hold out 30 seconds or something before the second door can be opened instead of having to finish off the released tank in that position first, if there needed to be more balancing than just making the second door available right away. Or force the tank spawn immediately after the freed-one's death to occur a little bit farther away on the map. SOMETHING surely could be done about the awkward intersection of mechanics there.
I found out you have to stand directly in front of the safe door so the tank targets you instead of the door. And somehow the door won’t break and you won’t get hit. But if you let them run into it they’ll just swat kick that thing down 💀
13:51 As of recent they fixed it to have a normal damage arc, going from left to right in a straight line, like the fire axe’s second swing. So it has literally became a good melee weapon overnight

the nostalgia is hitting hard watching this. i remember getting 3 other friends together(sometimes randoms) and trying to rush to the safe zone to win the match. you had no choice but to rush the moment the door opened and abandon your teammate because it was impossible to save them. the frantic voices and constant screaming into the Xbox mics were some of the best moments. back then there wasn't any strategy other than lighting the tanks on fire to slow them down and running the intended route hoping the common don't get in the way. sometimes the games were impossible to beat simply because the players controlled the tanks. Some people would run ahead with extra speed and block certain doors or wait behind cars or garbage bins in an attempt to throw them at you.
I know a couple and we played so much versus we hardly lost, the gf of the couple played the dead centre expert mode with me. Last chapter fillling cans we had no tanks and hardly no issues. We were amazed how easy it was.
play on expert with 3 friends, race to the end on the highest difficulty you guys can achieve with points for the difficulty and placements, you will have a blast, we call it death race and we have had a lot of fun with it

I'm sick with this mutation, when I'm with my friends it's the only thing we play, we play all the campaigns over and over again in different difficulties, I don't know how many hours of the total will be just Tank Run but it's already in my blood.
It's SO fun. TAAAAANK is great too, but I find that one to be less playable a lot of the time because if you don't have exactly evenly matched human players on each side it becomes super unbalanced immediately. Which is a bummer but also a totally understandable logical result of the premise
This would be a nightmare with the mod boomer peril, is basically just boomers and tanks, but tanks only spawn if you get puked and then a horde of tanks spawns... is like 30 tanks
