Trivia, that line that Nick gives "I'll beat you so hard that your sister will regret giving birth to you" was actually cut from the game, and later found in the files. The developers probably thought it was a bit too much 😂
I find it fascinating that they were able to take the voicelines form the game and organize them in such an interesting way to basically make a movie out of it. There's some hiccups here and there and the sfm animation is outdated but nostalgic. But still, it's a great story. Funny and entertaining even after all these years
Never knew someone animated this! A really cool way for folks who never played the game to get a sense of the story, since you can hear different dialogue each time you go through a level. Not sure if anyone pointed this out before, but the zombies in l4d are based around a highly mutated rabies virus 😬😱 To answer your question, the Smoker (grabbed Rochelle and Coach) is what tried to grab Ellis towards the start of the video!
yes but your somewhat wrong as they're not zombies they are just humans infected with the green flu lol it says it in the lore. so thru out the 2 games were basically murdering a shit ton of people lmao
@@hx20games77 no kidding I was just about to say what a good idea for a series this is, there's so much damn dialogue and banter in the game you could make a short tv series out of a concept like this. That sucks to hear though why did it end?
@@saltylemon4436 Well the creator made the passing part three and it was only half done and she said doesn't know when it's gonna be finished since she's battling mental health.
So each Special Infected (the chargers, boomers, spitters, smokers, jockeys, hunters, witch and tank) has their own musical que when they spawn ingame, warning the players that they're on map. Most the time it's a piano tune, but with the witch, it was that opera singing that you could hear.
@@aaydinturk well, not always, because sometimes, if you're playing single player, you can hear the Tank growling through the walls and just waiting for you to get close enough to see him, or close enough so that he sees you, and then the music starts playing. Unless you're playing the finale, then they just spawn with the music playing immediately.
Your reactions to the special infected were gold being a fan of the series. For game context, the musical notes when the special infected show up are cues when playing the game that they’re around along with their unique cries (one of many reasons Back 4 Blood failed as a spiritual sequel). The bile Coach threw was the same stuff the Boomer vomits/explodes on the players, which attracts zombies to them. And funny enough, Rochelle is regarded as the least liked character in the series, whereas Ellis is a fan favorite, as a lot of the dialogue the actors read either is really rare in-game (Beejie used a lot of them, including some rare events like the Jimmy Gibbs zombie), or got cut and can found in the game files, which made Rochelle come off as annoying in the game. There’s complications of them from both L4D games you can check out along with the actual game walkthroughs (and more of Ellis’s stories)
Yeah this video is very misleading gives impression there's scenes of them talking and such but there isn't, yeah they talk but not on this level lol , the just the random lines every so often...like when they tell Ellis to shut up etc
So, about the special infected: -Boomer: Has very little health (goes down in like, one or two shots), is more of a support infected. Its main attack is to puke at a Survivor, and that attracts a whole lot of zombies. Explodes upon death, and if a Survivor is near the explosion, they'll be covered in puke -Hunter: Hooded zombie, its main attack is to pounce onto a Survivor (and he can jump VERY FAR), and if he's successful at it, will start clawing at a Survivor until they die or until the Hunter gets killed or pushed away by another Survivor -Smoker: The one hiding behind bushes, his main attack is to shoot his tongue at a Survivor. If he catches someone, he'll either pull them towards him and start beating up the Survivor, or he'll hang them somewhere, until the Survivor dies, or until the Smoker gets killed or his tongue cut off. When he dies, he leaves behind a cloud of thick smoke -Charger: Big zombie with a big arm. He'll charge at a Survivor, and upon hit, will charge with the Survivor towards a set distance or towards any wall. After that, he'll pick up the Survivor and start slamming them down repeatedly until the Survivor dies or until the Charger gets killed. Due to his size, the Charger can't be pushed back. Nearby Survivors who stand in the Charger's path will be knocked away during his charge -Spitter: Spits a ball of acid that spreads on the floor, and will do damage to Survivors as long as they stay on the acid puddle. When she dies, she leaves a small acid puddle around herself, damaging Survivors that are close to her. -Jockey: The "clown" zombie. He'll jump onto a Survivor and start riding them, controlling where a Survivor goes while constantly dealing damage to them, often leading a Survivor onto a horde of zombies or towards a pitfall. He does this until a Survivor's incapacitated, or until the Jockey dies or gets pushed back. -Witch: Essentially the most dangerous infected in the whole game. She usually stays stationary and crying, but will sometimes also just slowly walk around while crying. She won't do anything unless provoked (having a flashlight on her, attacking, having a Survivor being too close for too long). If angered, she'll chase the Survivor who angered her, before attacking. Her attacks will instantly incapacitate a Survivor, and on the Expert difficulty, will instantly kill a Survivor. -Tank: The "Hulk" zombie. Has the highest health in the game, being able to take a whole lot of damage. His punch can send a Survivor flying, and he has another attack where he can pull a rock out of the ground, before throwing it at a Survivor. He can also punch cars at Survivors (if there are any around), which will instantly incapacitate them.)
as the tank in versus there are red highlighted objects like cars you say and dumpsters and other smaller objects that are punchable as the tank the witch can switch targets after a survivor provoked her by either the survivors who arent targeted block her way and if they do they get incapped by the witch and basically die or until she does but if anyone or anybody carries a cocktail or any explosive will be provoke the witch to kill YOU instead of the main target she was after
The crying zombie is called a witch. She usually gets players down in 1 shot. The one with the long tongue is a smoker, its the same one hiding in the bush, it just missed ellis when it tried to grab him with the tongue. The laughing small one that rode coachs face is a jockey. The last, hulk like, zombie is a tank.
it's so cool to see this story recontextualized in an sfm animation rather than gameplay. I remember playing this exact campaign for the first time in 2009 and seeing you guys watch and enjoy this makes me feel warm inside.
The Special Infected are some of the most iconic zombies I’ve seen in gaming. But they are some of those types of zombies I’d rather not fight... O_O And I love the characters in Left 4 Dead 2. They got some great personalities to them! Especially Ellis, that guy has my kind of humor! 😁
The one that was in the bush and shot at Ellis was the smoker, the one with the long tongue. In the game they try to pull survivors away to separate and pick them off from the group
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames no problem it’s really cool to see other people being interested in one of my favorite games so thanks for the reaction 👍
Another great Left 4 Dead video would be the “Left 4 Dead White Lie” movie. It’s a great series and very emotional, I highly recommend it. It’s a movie/series that has a great ending. Many Left 4 Dead character there from the 1st one and 2nd game.
I sure wish that Beejie Bean finished the whole series. I was hoping to see the Midnight Riders concert. Also, as far as Whitaker and his cola goes, he already has enough food and munitions to kill every zombie in Savannah three times over and eat well while doing it. He just forgot to get his drinks on the way back.
My favourite reaction channel reacts to my favourite SFM movie based on one of my favourite games. What a combo :) Never liked the depiction of Ellis in this series though, in the actual game he indeed has a lot of goofy voicelines but never canonically puts his teammates' lives at risk. Looking forward to your reaction to the next campaign, The Passing!
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames The remastered finale of The Passing is not finished, yeah. The original finale is on YT though, but animations are less polished there and the dialogues sound a bit less natural compared to the remastered version. My bad for forgetting this :( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z94LnuoiNFw.html
The animation quality is insane, but I cant get over the attention to detail, how each scene starts and ends with a safe room and follows the path players would take during the game, how every zombie was introduced with their own special encounter that showcased what they did, the range of weapons introduced and used, the use of the zombies "call" and their theme to sort of associate them with one another, little gameplay elements too like shoving to create some space between the character and the zombie, the introduction of the boomer bile canister and the pipe bomb or the way coach throws the gas canister over the edge like players would do in the game because carrying gas prohibits the use of weapons
Each character likes certain weapons. Louis and Coach prefer double pistols and shotguns. Ellis and Francis prefer double pistols and sniper rifles. Ellis also likes the grenade launcher. Nick, Bill, Zoey and Rochelle all prefer the same guns, which are magnums and assault type rifles.
After the last stand update(PC version only) the 3 of the original left 4 dead characters prefer their gun preferences(Tiers 1(pump shotguns and SMGs variants) and 2(Auto shotguns and assault rifles variants) and side arms(dual pistols/magnum) like in the 1st game(which means they reverted back to their own preferences e.g. Francis(pump action and auto shot guns, dual pistols), Louis(SMGs and assault rifles, magnum) and Zoey(SMGs and snipers, dual pistols) Bill remained unchanged because of their AI preferences Bill is to Nick(SMGs and assault rifles variants and magnum) Francis is to Ellis(SMGs and snipers and dual pistols) Louis is to Coach(pump action and auto shotguns and dual pistols) Zoey to Rochelle(SMGs and assault rifles and magnum)(before the last stand update) now swap to others Francis(Coach), Louis(Rochelle) and Zoey(Ellis) after the update to match their preferred weapons just like in the 1st game (Bill is the only character remained unchanged(Nick))
Beejie Bean did such a good work, L4D is a great game! Nice video, looking forward for your reaction for The Passing, where characters from both games get to meet 😎
I love Left 4 Dead! First game i bought on my 360. I still play it every now and then. Fingers crossed for a part three. It was fun watching this with you guys.
LF4D2 they give the dialogue and you hear the relationship between the four while you play. Game is all about atmosphere. Music, sound effects, character voices all mix into good art without losing the gameplay aspect. So it doesn't stop you with cutscenes and you are living the cutscenes. This was peak gaming. Also not so complicated to get into it's very plug and play sort of game.
the one in the bushes are called "Smokers" and they actually throw their tongue at you, It is assumed that this type of infected are people who smoked a lot and developed a type of tongue cancer, nothing official, but the game community has many theories about each infected type wich is awesome
I discovered you guys like a few years ago and i really enjoyed your reactions! Tho i never commented in any of your videos until now. I love the fact that you guys react to all kinds of stuff! You guys should react to the whole series from benji and other sfm (source film maker) animations! PD: Im aware benji took a lo g break from finishing the remastered animations for her left 4 dead series but you can find more in other channels like “Theapostle7” or “hellhounds4” they really have great animations and i think you’ll enjoy them :)
Thanks so much for being a part of the community for so long and for finally reaching out to drop a comment 😊🤗 We will will look into those other channels 😀
Jimmy Gibbs jr is a extremely rare zombie, ive been playing this game for like 8 years and never seen him once, I think it’s like a 1% spawn or something like that.
18:25 achievement burn the witch Also boomer pukes when covered in it calls the horde and mess with your view. So when you have a bottle of boomer puke during a horde you can throw it and lure the zombies away for a short time and they will attack anything covered in it. Oh and something fun about the finale in dead center when gasing up the car when the elevator doors open there's a gas can right in front of them, it's a trap meant to call the horde, if you don't grab it then only small waves show up along with special infected Oh and the Jimmy Gibbs is one of the rare special infected that shows up in the game though his spawn is incredibly rare with him if he hits you you get covered in oil and messes with your view
17:34 special infected boss: witch. The witch will be in one spot or wondering around constantly crying into her hands. If you stare at it for too long or if you shoot it it will enter a feral rage and strike down anything it sees using its freakishly sharp-clawed hands
32:43 special infected offense: jockie. A jockie will lock itself around your head and back in order to force you to wherever it wants to go, steadily damaging you in the process
31:18 special infected offense: hunter. The hunter is a very agile zombie, looking to leap at a surviver with the goal of quickly ripping their torsos apart
Ik this is a pretty old video but I'd like to say that the music like the opera singing when that zombie was crying or the piano cue when the boomer first appeared are all cues in the game for when they appear
I thought Ken was gonna say welcome back to definitely not definitive I'm ken and I'm bethany and we are a couple of zombies 🧟♀️ in love that like watching zombie stuff
36:25 special infected offense: spitter. Spitters with shoot globs of their own stomach acid to cause a large puddle that will burn away at those standing in it
16:33 special infected support: smoker. Using what could be described as an infinitely long tongue; smokers will tie up survivers and leave them dangling in the air, over an edge, or just stuck at a window for zombies to get in free hits
I know this gonna sound stupid whatever I'm going to say but. Wow! This is a really great thing! Using SFM to make game into a movie! For this. I just love different games have phenomenal stories to it. And when I play different games like Dead island or Dead Space 2. I always pretend it's like a movie genre or I don't know.
Essentially a dramatized version of the first campaign, using in game models and dialog. If you guys haven't played either game, you really should. Left 4 dead, in addition to proving Valve can't count to three, is still after all this time the quintessential co-op zombie experience. Tons of media, mods and all kind of content. Including couch coop.
Beejie Bean's The Passing SFM is maybe not finished, but you should still watch it. The remastered version is unfinished, but the original version is also available. I suggest either watching the first 2 remastered parts and switching to the original for part 3, or also watching the unfinished part 3 remaster. There is still about 10 minutes of footage to watch and it's really well made
Left 4 Dead is a game of my chidlhood. At the time, there was no game i enjoyed more than Left 4 Dead. Although,i was scared of darker levels so i only played day ones...i was like 8 back then.I am sad that there is no Left 4 Dead 3 and Valve games in general. They were good at making games.Team Fortress,Half-Life,Counter Strike and Left 4 Dead are all games made by Valve and are all memorable games and loved by pretty much everyone.Anyway,i watched this episode animation video before and watching it again with you guys was awesome!Hopefully, there is a sequel and i can't wait for it! ❤️❤️❤️
23:40 the reason he cant get to the cola store is because there is a line where whitaker says "i would come down there and shake on it but I've already welded the door shut" so for short he welded his door shut
Every special infected zombie has it's own music score to indicate its nearby or has spawned in the actual game, that's why theres the opera singing when they seen the witch (nail lady)
8:25 special infected offense: charger. Having one massive arm they will go for a charging tackle, either sending itself off the edge with a caught survivor or holding onto a caught survivor at the end of charge to repeatedly slam them into the floor or wall
Super super fun reaction, probably one of my favorites I have seen from you guys! This is an absolute classic series on RU-vid and I was really (pleasantly) surprised to see you guys reacting to it. Like Ken said, sadly the follow-up campaign animation was never *properly* finished. I say that because, sadly, the final part is a draft that was uploaded and not the completely remastered version, as the creator never was able to finish the project due to mental health and real-life issues. So, if you guys are interested to see where these eccentric 4 are headed next, I made a playlist that puts all the videos of the next campaign in chronological order, with the final part being the aforementioned draft version. It is definitely still watchable and overall a fun ride, the only thing being an inconsistency in (production) quality in the final part, given that it is the rough draft version. It is the best that can be done though, the remastered version of the finale unfortunately ends abruptly since it was never finished - that is why I put the remastered parts first in the playlist, and then put the draft of the finale last, which does have an actual closing end which wraps up the campaign nicely. The link to the playlist is here should you guys want to react to the next campaign! Thanks for the fun reactions like always! ru-vid.com/group/PLQGtNRqJHJR9PEb4JFmgWd_TPm7Tl-iT4
i never watched these, but its cool to see that pretty much all the dialogue is in the game lol so it feelt like playing the game in a way, it acctualy showed the gameplay of the game pretty much, except in the game is more zombie shooting, and less stopping the dialogue just happens as you play, but you going pretty much the same way the same map the same areas the same order
BeejieBean made some excellent videos here. I also recommend TheApostle7, who takes a more cinematic approach, and also extensively used cut concepts and infected in his latest series.
I’d pick Ellis over the others to survive with. Even though in this animation he is portrayed as the one who is care free and can cause problems he actually has the most extensive gun knowledge out of the others and is an expert in vehicles. Plus his personality is fun to be around. Nick would be second best then Coach. Rochelle really doesn’t add much to the group outside of having some knowledge of the infection thanks to her previous job.
I really enjoyed watching y'all's reaction to this, I really really recommend watching a series called (white lie) by Lone Wolf HBS. The series is also about the left 4 dead game with the same character and character from the first left 4 dead game as well. I hope to see yalls reaction soon 🙂😌
If you guys weren't initially familiar with L4D before watching this, there's a channel called JoseBV, that does largely the same thing for Warcraft 3, also using ingame resources. It's a little rougher but still an interesting watch.
Since you couple are onto these SFM animation videos. I will recommend you watching the White Lie SFM series. Though it’s not canon to the L4D universe but it has an amazing alternate story. Please give it a watch when you do it guys. 😅
I would absolutely LOVE to watch you're guy's reaction to "Freeman's Mind" it's a fan mad series where the creator narrates Gordon Freeman's inner thoughts. It's amazing, I think your subscribers would love it and guarantee you'll be hooked after the first episode.
so, why Whitaker was so willing to give them so much for just soda? He had packed everything he needed for a long wait out, likely got infected, and only realized after getting infected he forgot the soda. The survivors show up just in time to get him essentially his last request before he turns.
53:33 - The thing hiding in the bushes that tried to throw something at Ellis was a Smoker. They make a coughing sound and, their main attack is a big, thick tongue that they can snag survivors with. Which is what it tried to hit Ellis with. When you kill them they explode into a noxious cloud that blocks vision. Interesting and horrifying. LoL :)
WOAH! Ok, so Valve used their Source engine to make a bunch of great games. Two of those games being the Left 4 Dead games. The Source engine comes stock with all the features needed to make videos like this. I knew the resources were there but, I had NO idea that someone had actually made a Left 4 Dead 2 movie. That's SO COOL! I guess one of the big up sides to following you guys is gonna be finding cool stuff like this for some of my favorite games. LoL thanks guys! ^_^
