@@deniss1917 It instills a sense of hope and hopelessness in the player. You know your so close to finally being done with the infection and fleeing yet you’re so far from that point as you see your final destination looming in the horizon as it beckons you to make the final push.

@@DonaldRichter0 If you didn't realize from the countless lying near the opening gate in the intro to the Parish, the military had kill zones to eliminate all possible threats including uninfected civilians. For the "Meet here, we go over the fence" they were probably trying to escape.

it helps that most of that campaign heavily uses cheeze organ, strings, Muffle drums, and bass guitar, giving that gritty dive bar "central US" soundfont that the original survivors are from. (pennsylvania/North Carolina) in contrast, the rest of the L4D2 soundtrack uses more instruments that are familiar to the Deep south, such as the fiddle, the guitar, accordion, the Harmonica, the Snare drum, and the big brass instruments (closer to my home states, Alabama/Georgia, as well as the Jazz music of New orleans)

I think L4D2 theme's tell a story, the first half shows the desperation that the survivors have from different locations and different places, the second half shows the aggressiveness of the zombies, and no matter where you go, they will be equally dangerous
