Your profile picture is the face you're gonna make when I tell you that you could have gotten L4D and L4D2 for free on Steam every anniversary of the game's release.
I seriously wouldn't have minded a direct copy of mechanics, since they're what made the other two games great. The game could've just had its own little twists we could go back to, like what L4D2 was to L4D1.
I think that's the main problem of the game were it tried to hard to left 4 dead but no game could be left 4 dead. You can be similar but not the same. I think if devs announced "this game borrows elements from left 4 dead but is different from how it looks, and plays" the game would have had a better chance
Personally I'd have loved it more if they at least had a gamemode that tried to mirror the original's pure skill roguelike feel. One where someone doesn't have to put up with the game being so RNG heavy on modifiers and perks that it's as if there's zero point even trying to get good when one can get lucky.
It is not a copy well I guess it is but the people who made it created l4d but when they joined valve and valve was not letting them do the things they wanted to do and they wanted to do a l4d3 but valve did not want to do that and they were not letting them make the games they wanted to make so they left and created this and it only failed because people were wanting something to be in the place of l4d3 so they thought it was just going to be l4d they thought of just left for dead not a whole new game and when people saw it is not like left for dead they stopped playing and left 4 dead was made by 6 people as a passion project and valve helped them publish left 4 dead because they were friends because they helped work on a cs game from before 2008 so they just went with it since they helped with several valve games so it is not a rip off they are doing a spin off on their own game
Fun Fact: That discontinued Roblox campaign is now fully realized and available in the Left 4 Dead 2 workshop: It's called 'Cold Front', and I can tell you that if you get the chance, you're going to really enjoy it! Give it a try some time. :)
@@JAiZRU-vid 1. Wow I can't believe you're here hello lol 2. Yeah no worries, take all the time you need! Cold Front has become an instant favourite to me!
@@JuggerLeft Not really issues, I just decided to make one large update instead of multiple smaller ones so that I can complete the project sooner, so it's taking longer, but will have tons of new stuff.
That fake mobile ad was the most realistic experience of me watching dozens of ads a day for ingame resources because I'm bored enough to want that little boost.
I was watching this on my PlayStation and my mom came in my room when you started saying oh fuck over and over again and my controller died so I couldn’t pause it and my mom yelled at me.
the roblox one probably had the most effort put in, as they had to practically rewrite the entire code for roblox (assuming they ported it) and if they didn’t port it they probably just built the game from the ground up also it was a small team developing the project.
I had a friend that was really obsessed with B4B. He would always want to play it. I dreaded even loading the game up. One day I told him honestly I don’t like the game and don’t want to play it anymore. He blocked me. Good riddance.
@@contra7631 I personally don't see the big deal of Left 4 Dead over Back 4 Blood, they're both practically the same except one has ADS and Game Progression while the other is more of an Arcade game, the Versus mode was awesome though, but I think mods is the only thing that keep Left 4 Dead alive for so long, not its core content, I do think Left 4 Dead is good mind, put a lot of hours in, but I prefer Back 4 Blood because it has more to do and a progression system.
Let's see the tri-state tornado that lasted 3 hours the Xenia Ohio Tornado which was rated F6 the Joplin tornado in 2011 that killed 200 people the Bridge creek monster that flung a Baby and had the highest winds measured on earth Jarrel with the Famous dead man walking image and staled over trailer park homes for 5 MINUTES!!!!! and when they added cards, added weapon rarities, "runs" instead of just campaigns, copypaste special ridden, the ugly artstyle itself, the ridden, poor animations for shooting ridden, poor special event noises, poor special events themselves, crap ambient noise, poor fire animations, poor explosion animations, poor ridden chunking system when blown up, no ragdolls on dead ridden, no built-in mod support, poor map layout, a crap story, an entire team of constant yappers w no chemistry, character-specific perks, a crap modifier system for future "runs," a roadmap for paid DLC that looked terrible, poor lack of communication to the playerbase on fixes, dumping the game bc it didn't make em a bajillion dollars the first year since it was shit, I could prolly think of more but I'm getting lazier by the word
I was thinking to myself saying, "Didn't Dacoobers already make a knock off left for dead video" then I realised it was Ratlobers video I was thinking about.
@@infinitehexington It was made by like 3 or 4 guys who didn't have a major part in the game's development. Valve carried L4d hard, if they let Turtle Rock cook the game would've been a damn mess.
@@OrionDawn15you do realize that vanilla l4d is super scuffed when you see how many features were cut, especially looking at the code and notes from the devs, theres laziness, messy code, and the game overall feels empty without mods that bring in so many features and qol additions to the game
@@OrionDawn15 Valve is just a publisher buddy, back4blood is an unofficial continuation of left4dead as the game series was never given the green light for a third installment.
Something someone with a weak mind and smeply chode would say. Can only assume youre either a kid or a complete grown loser thinglking saying something cringy and racist would get you plenty attention. no, just no boy lmaoo
Another problem B4B had is the lack of immersion: it was impossible to believe any of those "characters" could survive in a zombie apocalypse at all, and all they said were Marvel-style quips or wisecracks that got really old and grating to the ears.
Hot damn I haven't seen Codename Cure in ages, I got fond memories of that game. Also, got some bad news for you. I am a woman and I play Codename Cure. I just never use mic because I'm a coward.
If your interested about why left 2 die got discontinued its because fezezan (i think thats his name) got bored of l2d or something, he then switches from l2d into devloping another zombie game calles guts and blackpowder which is liike a zombie game set during the napolean age or whatever, also the defib is in l2d and l2d was in devlopment for a long time, they focus on infected scripting and mechanics so they only released 2 campaigns and 2 survival maps, AI (on roblox) is very hard to make.
DRG is solid gameplay for sure, but it totally suffers from the same "games as a service" problems as Back4Blood. It's definitely at it's best just playing the game and ignoring the bloat season pass stuff.
Back 4 Blood is kinda in a way, like the "Hunt Down the Freeman" of the Left 4 Dead Series.... I'm saying this based of off what I'm seeing XD i haven't played it sooo, yeah.
Codename CURE was a project i was a dev on when I was like 16 and it's always a jumpscare seeing people still play it, even if it's to make fun of it. That shit's wild, man.
fun fact: the creators of left 2 die on roblox created another game called guts and blackpowder which is one of the most creative zombie games on roblox.
Biggest thing I hate about B4B is suddenly every one thinking turtle rock is garbage and valve are basically a team made by God. If turtle rock was so bad they would not have hired them in the first place nor would they keep them.
Don’t get me wrong, the concept to bring back the classic days when left 4 dead was fresh was a good idea, but we all know how bad it turned out without valve lol
the game could be saved if the developers could have 2 more brain cells to fix the main problems, they could fix the game with : 1. modified the price of the game and editions, 30 dollars for the normal edition but $90 for the deluxe, they could put these prices to be affordable = Normal Edition:$14.99 - Deluxe Edition $ $39.99 - Ultimate Edition $59.99 2. Allow the Steam Workshop, since they could not think of new weapons or maps or campaign, they could let modders do that work to bring back 4 Blood a new fresh of air with new content 3. Fix Bugs 4. improve the game with some touches, like some new mechanics, UI, etc.
When the Back 4 Blood game was announced, I was really hyped up for it - spent lots of hours farming that sweet key drop only for the game to crash the moment I shoot a gun
I liked back 4 blood alot more before you started with your entire deck, it forced you to pick cards to counter whatever modifiers the AI threw at you and build your deck accordingly for higher difficulties
I *kind* of liked it since it's a bit more accessible and less annoying, the game was hard enough. But I imagine they did this because the levels were just too short, I remember you got your deck back gradually level by level, right?
@@NamyNam1170 Yeah, randoms in this game are just unbearable. The 'continues' system just makes it worse. I'm glad I have a way to get more retries, but I wish we just started from the beginning of the level with no hassle. It's bad enough I almost exclusively play in Offline.
DACOOB I AM OF THE NOT SEEING ANY MONKIES. HOW MANY MORE TIMES WILL I BE FORCED TO SAY IT. I REQUEST MONKIES. IF THIS KEEPS UP I WILL SIMPLY NEED TO DO IT MYSELF. To do this is simple. I will take snippets of each and every one of your voices and send them to an AI using software. Then, I shall overlap it over the continuation of the hit episode, "Monkeying Around In Half Life 2". And bada-bang bada-boom, part 2. Ithink i need your permissionf irst but I will call my laywer.
i remember playing codename cure as a kid because i can't afford left 4 dead 1 and 2. now im 17 and i bought left 4 dead 2 for me to enjoy my inner kid, codename cure was a great game tho
back 4 bloods improvements and gameplay tweaks were great, but gameplay wise it lacked weight and intensity. To this day I would have fun playing this strictly because it's not an easy game, it can be really tough sometimes but the teamwork and random modifiers is what keeps me interested. And One thing that I can't unsee is the way the characters hold the Glock,,,,, their hand is not high enough on the grip 🤢😂.
There's very rare instances if your not moving in the game your constantly running from zombies and if you don't know where your going or don't know the momento of the game your dead meat
My problem with this game is thqt you cant tell different types of ridden apart from a distance like the tall guy has 3 variants and they all look similar
3:54 is that just a dude with piss jars? What is Valve's obsession with piss!? 5:05 A BOW AND ARROW!? Oh yea, that is really really bad. It's so much worse than I could imagine.
