An atmospheric Coldwave album, where the lady always has the right tone in her voice! It's not just the mood that's deeply somber, no, you should definitely read the lyrics too... With this album, December will be bearable !!
I follow Detriti Records, that is where I discovered The Serfs. As a old school new wave sort of pensioner 59 I remember that it was always the unusual designs on record sleeves that drew my attention to the record, even sometimes buying it having not heard it. I absolutely categorically can say that whoever designs this style of art for all Detriti records is very talented, who is this amazing person, I am interested to know. Great album debut, yes people are going to say Lebanon Hanover, no shame in that, they are superb, I would say yes, a bit of Lebanon Hanover for sure, but the synthy keys are more prominent on most of these tracks, it really is a great little bit of layering, one tune of interest to me is the track after " Angeldust " it is giving me the vibe of another band I discovered. SUIR. Great work. Now go perform it live and show everybody how amazing you are.
The track that gives me SUIR vibes is called "Your skin turns blue" Amazing ! Straight after that one is euphoric I have to say, like a improved D.A.F. super underlying synths cutting through it. Bravo
