To everyone saying "But he was passing, he wasn't being a lane hog", that wasn't the reason. In New Jersey (as well as numerous other states, and Candian provinces too, I'm sure), big rigs are banned from the leftmost lane on freeways with 3 lanes in one direction. So ultimately, he wasn't pulled over for being a lane hog, he was pulled over because he was in the lane illegally.
@@c5cpe When trucks are not allowed in a lane, there are clearly posted signs often throughout. When the lane restriction ends, there will be another sign saying "END truck lane restriction" or something similar. The annoying part is, half the truckers on the road just sit in the middle lane even if they are not passing anyone, and then as a trucker you are either forced to go at the speed they are going which is annoying if you can go faster, pass on the right which is usually not legal, or pass on the left which is usually not legal. Middle lane hogs make it rough out there. In this video however, the cam truck was passing, and I assume they would have moved over to the right once passed the slower right lane truck. Can't be sure though, the speedy truck in the left lane didn't wait to find out!
This is a speeding stop.. this side of the turnpike is mandated for all tractor trailers (notice the car side on other side of guard rails), however it does suck when an asshole trucker clogs the highway especially on 2 lane highways..
There should never be cars blocking all 3 lanes. See it everyday for miles and miles. It’s not like he was camping out next to him. He was quickly going by him.
Since the left part of the turnpike is “cars only”, the right side should be trucks only. I was blocked by 2 cars going the same speed, when there were 2 more lanes they could have been sitting in. ( the further north, there are 4 “truck” lanes).
Why? Billy Big Rigger there in the hammer lane decided he was more important than everyone else...let him linger there so the troopers nail him. You pass me in the hammer lane, you better have the horsepower to take me over because I'm not easing jack sht
Your comment is EXACTLY what’s wrong with the world today. You want to reward the person blatantly breaking the law and pawn blame off onto the person doing absolutely nothing at all. You disgust me.
@@commercialvehicleaccountab108 No body is being rewarded ,red truck is just taking a bad situation and tuning it into a potential three wide accident !
That sec of road has 3 lanes for cars and three lanes for trucks separated by an island. The trucks may use all three lanes on their side of the highway.
You are incorrect. This stretch of the NJTPK has 3 lanes for cars only, and 3 lanes for "trucks, busses, AND CARS. The latter 3 lanes have signage all along the highway saying "no trucks, busses or trailers in left lane".
Most states have plenty of signage stating trucks not allowed in far left lane violating it results in losing what you’ve earned for the run and usually 3 points against you
@@tripplefives1402That’s terrible. What kind of an idiot passes a law that allows trucks this size in the passing lane? Common sense says it should be banned nationwide. It’s about time companies stop rushing truck drivers with super tight deadlines and making them feel like they have to use a lane they shouldn’t even be permitted in.
This requires those steering wheels holders to A) read and understand the sign B) actually give two 💩s and C) there be actual consequences for their inability to follow directions
You want to see the prat truck drivers here in the UK, overtaking on a two lane carriageway at 56mph for a couple of miles blocking traffic just because their truck is 0.5mph faster than the other clown in the nearside lane, who is just as ignorant as they could just ease off to let them get by quicker, but oh no that would be too sensible. Trucks are restricted here to around 56mph.
Muy bien, eso le pasa por circular todo el tiempo por el carril izquierdo, que no esta permitido para los camiones a excepcion de un rebasamiento temporal.
The northern half of the NJ Turnpike has three lanes for trucks and cars and three for just cars in each direction. Does the "no trucks in the left lane" rule extend to the truck and car lanes as well? Otherwise, I'm not sure why this truck was pulled over.
Are you asking or telling? If you are asking, next time you are driving there, see if there are signs that say no trucks left lane. Then you will have your answer. If you are telling, maybe remove the question marks. lol
I thought he was making a conservative and appropriate pass. At under 45 seconds he was a couple hundred yards past and moving into his new lane. This cop could use better judgment when screwing with Truckers lives in places like Ohio. There's the Tale of the Foreign Trucker in the far right lane doing 75 with stopped traffic, while reading a text message. I dove for the center cable stays as a dozen car's and SUVs took flight East of Columbus Ohio. 20 minutes later no on had interviewed the very dark skinned Foreigner. When I was ignored, I put my Explorer in reverse and slipped away from the idiots responding. WE 4 wheelers had completed rescue when the OSP poked on in. still no ambulances. I am 16 years Medical Practitioner feeling the whole thing like a bunch of crap without an ER, due to unqualified Foreign truckers and ODOT and COPS like that ... Maybe the dispatcher was from Michigan..., Foreigners OMG.
It’s called doing the speed limit. I know a lot of people can’t read those signs on the side of the highway but maybe if you slow down a little you could see them.
cops like to use the trailer as their blockade so they don't get hit, which is understandable. So long as the trucker pulls far enough to the right and the trooper stays slightly left, you can still see their lights very clearly
NJTP Troopers ticket truckers alot for left lane violations Carteret area. Fact: they and Sunoco roadside service operators got quite the scam going on .
Holden Caprice is the Chevy Caprice in the USA and the Buick Park Ave in China, GM Daewoo Veritas in Korea. The Chevy SS is not the caprice but was assembled in Elizabeth, Australia.
Hi Jeff Rogerson! Can I use your video in my video plus comments to help people learn lessons so they can drive safer? I'll put your name on the screen, thank you for reading.
This place is frustrating because someone is always hogging up the middle lane so you follow for miles and miles or take a chance and pass for 30 seconds and look back and he fades in your mirror. BTW It is not three lanes it is SIX and trucks are limited to TWO of them. The left three are no trucks at all. This place needs rethinking.
If I lived here I would purposely drive my car 1mph above the MINIMUM speed limit in the middle lane with the sole intention of screwing with you entitled, crybaby steering wheel holders. Everyone seems to think they’re above the law and tries to justify their bad behavior, y’all need reminding that’s not how it works.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse .If you can't pay the fine don't do the crime .I learned a long time ago take your time a you'll still get there on time .
This is the NJ turnpike. The left lane is carpool/passing lane and trucks are 100% not allowed in it. The reason is exactly what you see here, 3 semis holding hands blocking every lane while cars back up for miles. You can't go a 1/4 mile without seeing one or two "no trucks in left lane" signs.
THE ROAD IS AN “UNDECLARED WAR ZONE” anyway. Is anyone allowed to exceed the maximum poster speed limit? - According to law, NO. - According to culture, HELL YEAH !!!
He was not impeeding the left lane. He was passing. Being in the left lane is NOT dangerous. But it's OK for idiots to hold up trucks in a traffic jam to look at something that isn't on the same side of the road. People in cars have no right to bitch.
If you truly don't know, then you deserve the same ticket. If you drive a car, truck, semi, aircraft, space ship ECT... you need to know the rules around it, stop by your local DMV and get a driving manual.
total joke....if you have a fast truck you should be allowed in the 3rd lane to pass......why can cars go 80 all day long?...but when a truck wants to go fast the cops freak out?
Left lane laws are bullshit. He was passing and not holding anyone up. Its ok for piece of shit cars to back up traffic for 5 miles to look at something that isnt even on their side of the freeway, BUT GOD FORBID IF A TRUCK IS PASSING IN THE LEFT LANE. Then you have asshole truckers that are NOT passing anybody and hog the center lane screwing up traffic.
@@stover77 middle guy was passing to. Honestly as fast as he was passing I would have stayed in the middle lane behind the truck until he passed. I only pass in the left lane if people are driving way slow in the right and middle lanes
There's a slow ass car in the right lane ahead of them though, even the slow truck in the far right lane was catching them. If you're too old to safely drive the speed limit on a freeway, you're too old to still be driving. People like that clueless old geezer cause traffic to back up because they simply drive too slow.
