So essentially the best ending is to tell the Grandpa that you agree with him and then Grandpa will take in the little boy to save him from his evil mother Hilary, the equally evil Laura (yes, Hilary went to harm her, but Laura coming after an innocent boy with a knife is evil) and the nasty bully.
Make sure to speak with only the woman downstairs so she can call the cops. Then speak to the old man and get the saved ending. The old man will back you up if the cops suspect you of the crime. Also note this is not in the game.

I didn’t even realize this game had a character that was a female sexual predator. Guess the let’s player I watched didn’t say yes to the option she gave the kid in the game. But predators like that do come in all shapes, all sizes, and isn’t restricted to one gender. The world is scary, dude. 😭
The only three that were somewhat innocent where the girl that freaked out at the food, the old man and the guy with the dog, though I don't fully know enough to fully justify him.

I think it's related to the reason children can often see ghosts adults can't, and are more sensitive to supernatural / paranormal phenomena. They're young, so their brains haven't built up the walls and defenses to block those things out yet. Some adults do retain a degree of that sensitivity in the form of empaths and psychics, though for the record I think the majority of people who claim to be psychic are just con artists, whereas those who actually are just keep it to themselves.
It's not true, this statement only applies to the behaviour shown by the person and it's interactions with the children specifically; which basically means that a father could be a serial murderer but as long as this commitment does not alterate his relationship and overall attitude towards his son then it's probably he will perceive him as a good person. Childrens might be good, however, at pointing out weird people once they've got the experience to talk with them; which is why there are plenty of cases of sociopaths and psychos who are able to conceal they true persona, leading to childrens (in case they have sons) becoming adults and still not being aware of the whole dark business behind their parents
One thing I like about this game is it shows a paedophilic woman attacking and raping a boy which although common is regularly overlooked in society with many suggesting such boys should be thankful to have the attention of an older woman.

The man is certainly not a good person but he's definitely better than the rest of them cause he goes after the one that are too far gone, he's still evil but the lesser one.
The guy with the dog probably used the dog food as bait for other dogs. He had no qualms about eating his own pet dog which is unthinkable to many , most likely cause he's already used to eating them. By bringing the bag back to the guy did the child not only bring back his dog's sustenance, he's also getting back his way of acquiring his own food, other dogs. That's what my theory is since non of his actions made sense unless it's seen in a predatory perspective and almost everyone in the complex were selfish horrible human beings.
there are three problems with the theory 1) the man said "thanks for bringing our food" implying that he didn't kill the dog because if he starts he would say "thanks for bringing my food" 2) apartments usually don't have many dogs 3) he's thinking about eating the dog implying he didn't eat (sorry for the bad english)

I assumed that's what he was doing, which is why he said "our" food. He didn't seem like he wanted to eat the dog, rather that he was so desperate he'd started considering it.
Am I the only one whose attention was drawn to the fact that before he closes the door, he has dimples on his cheeks that indicate that he is very hungry? This means that either he did not eat the leftovers or he is insatiable.

The front door of my house is right to my left and knew the knocking started I jumped. Its midnight here and I was like 'why is someone at the door?!?' for a moment.

I'm surprised the old lady is the only one truly sane, given she shares the same floor as the boy and his mother. Also I think personally that the new girl actually got the box that was made last or made sloppily, if the mother was trying to hide something, she wouldn't just leave evidence like that, I think the one with an eyeball was made for the lady who did the affair.

This game is the perfect example of "All children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children" with the mother using her oblivious child to get rid of the evidence of their father's dead body, gaslighting and killing the child if they come back 4 times and neglectfully exposing the child to predators, stalkers and their school bully.
And murderers, she knew very well the woman her husband cheated her with was gonna react like that, she was very ready to face her with knife in hand and all

Honestly, this is a great horror game. Mysterious, drained colours, the animation style; not to mention the story and the fact that it seems the neighbours know what evil things the mum is doing, yet not telling the boy

I knew some of the neighbors were downright terrible people but a lot of them had more subtle signs that I never realized until watching this video. I feel so bad for that little boy
This game was actually based on a true story, in which a woman had lost her husband, they didn't divorce, and he didn't leave or get kicked out. He just disappeared. But after he disappeared the woman started cooking a lot of food then giving it to her son to give it to her neighbors, but the food was inedible. Until once, one of her neighbors screamed and then when she was asked about what happened she said she found an eye inside the food she got from the woman. Turns out that woman killed her husband and now she is trying to feed him to others or whatever, but then when she got caught her son was sent to live with his uncle while the woman serves time in jail, its a tragedy ngl. Edit: i heard this story from someone that said their grandma lived in this apartment complex, i bet that its that one grandma.
Someone who's endured abuse, I feel this child, being tormented, its horrible, and I understand that's how he portrays it visually, just like me, I'd portray it in a visual way and j think this is an amazing rendition of it. (Also if your wondering, games don't normally trigger my memories, as imcan understand it is fictional nnormally, unless it's specifically similar to my abuse)
My theory is that the mom is a canable along with everyone else in the building, and that she makes the canable dishes for her enjoyment, and as well that the people there are trying to make the boy a canable too by showing him how delisus it is, My evidence, All the doors which can not be opened, there all from the people who the mom used for cooking, and as well the old man and the man who can't walk, they fought her off, but not without injurie and loss, for the old man it was his arm an eye plus his wife dying from mom, and for the man who can't walk, We don't know much about, We know he clearly got trauma, his leg gone, weakened mussel function and clearly more, but those are injeras', we have no clue if or who if was living with before she came.

I think the elderly man was justified. The man had every reason to just kill the boy right there and then due to him potentially being indoctrinated by her mother to be a killer and the fact he was helping her mother in removing the evidence (he didn't know he had no idea of what he was giving) but gave the boy a chance by questioning him. The boy saying it's fine for the innocent to be killed wouldn't be taken as a joke by the elderly for said reasons and it would be better to kill him before he grew up to be something much worse, Afterall, he isn't the only kid in that building and said kid is a very rude and willingly to cause people's death for the sake of it. I feel like the elderly man was fair, hopeful but realistic and willingly to do what needed to be done without remorse. He didn't just turn into a monster like everyone else and even let the kid live with him once he found out he was still innocent as he didn't want to risk harm to the child as well as possible indoctrination. He thought smart and was cold but wasn't cruel and only did what needed to be done. I hate to see these types of people shunned for doing what is needed despite it seeming cruel. A man who killed 100 children to save 1000 more would be shunned despite it being what needed to be done. EDIT: JESUS WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING. @@yungdreaddaprophet It's hard to live in that building. The chance for corruption is too high for a child like him. Indoctrination is also hard to reverse and impossible in a building like that. When some one is turned , they can only be saved by leaving that god forsaken building which they wouldn't do. Kinda like how you can't reasonably help some one with a sickness while you're on the trenches of WW1. As stated in my comment, he was fair, smart, and realistic. Not everyone can become a good person even if it's possible on paper. Hope you can see my thinking behind what I said.
@@doomfan8603 This logic, in my opinion, is undone by the fact that this child has to leave the building to go to school, and by the fact that children who are saved from cults and the children of killers have gone through therapy and other means of reform to save them, so that they can see that what they were taught is evil and wrong. Also what the old man does is not justifiable by any means. By the standards of morality, his view of this child (and his idea of what this child's possibilities in life are) is too black and white. The old man has this saviour complex but a rigid idea that if you are a young person with bad morals that you can't change. He's trying to do a good thing, but it's the wrong thing to do unless the child is actively trying to kill someone. Outside of that, he should take the child somewhere where they know how to reverse that indoctrination process. What he's done is wrong by any means, but it is understandable. It makes sense why he would do it. And hypothetically if there was no world outside of the world we are shown in the game (for example if the school were also attached to this building) and no one ever went outside, then this man absolutely did the right thing because there's nowhere for them to go if that kid went on a killing rampage just for fun.

Also, I think what really brings your logic down is that they wouldn't be able to get any dirt on the mother especially with the kid loving their mother to the point where they would willingly look the other way if said mother killed the innocent (This is ending I believe is canon). He isn't indoctrinated, that's not the case as I believe that didn't even start yet, nor I'm trying to say he's growing tolerant to the act of murder, what I am saying is that this kid wouldn't call 911 when he found out about the two murders, being the two cheaters (I believe the mother was able to kill the cheater as it's clear the mother is calm and not clouded by things like fear while the cheater is clouded by rage making her short sighted). Also, considering how the cheater could just screaming something in the lines of "Come here you little shit I'm going to put so many holes in your head no one will recognize by the time I'm done". Also, considering how the mother easily got rid of all the evidence by telling her son to give the food to the residents living there, I'm pretty sure she got away with that murder too. Basically, they can't really take the boy away for these 3 main reasons 1: He wouldn't tell on her mother 2: There is no evidence he acts in any way that suggests abuse at home other than maybe self-isolation, but I do that and I'm not getting abused (Actually, there's evidence against him acting unstable). 3: The mother most likely got rid of all the evidence They most likely wouldn't even know about his situation in the first place. Now, here's the kicker. There is no way the old man ever thought of any of this. So, while I believe his actions were justified, I now believe he wasn't thinking through his actions fully so you could make a case that he's in the wrong but, it wouldn't be a good enough case.

Well,at last in my opinion,the mother won,she was more calm,cool,and collected,while Laura was crazy and uncontrollable,the mother was obviously planning something like this and knew what was going to happen as she told Laura about the food,and plus she already killed someone before,that makes a very big advantage over someone who hasnt

The old men in the ending in which he kills you kind of makes sense tbh: he doesnt want to let the boy live because he thinks hes gonna become like his mom.
When I first played it in 8th grade, I thought the old man took advantage of our innocence and lured us in to kill us. I feel bad. The lady on the first floor and the old man got the worst. Lady just moved in and is offered human remains. Old man lost an arm and lost his wife. I respect the old man for trying to protect us. I just watched someone play this and they chose no to the predatory woman, but I still had a feeling she was predatory. It's truly saddening that the boy had to go through that. (ik its a game but still it sucks)
The art style kinda gives off a feeling if both dread and fear, the way the neighbors look, the close up of the grandma, the evil of the woman, the disgust and suggestiveness of the man… it all feels so… helpless as the small boy
since the protagonist's a little boy, he might've seen a scary movie or some sort, that made him imagined seeing people as monsters, (except the lady who juat moved in) infact, maybe he realize that humans can eat humans, he got scared and overthinks it to the point he sees people as monsters, laura chasing him might be her chasing him to tell him what's wrong because he started running upstairs, and he's thinking that she is holding a knife as if wanting to cut him and eat him.
That could make sence but some of the people in the game look semi normal. But the women from level 6 jaw could be broken or something. And also i dont think Laura was chasing him to check up on him becuase she went to the kitchen to grab a kinfe.
