Legacies "LET'S JUST FINISH THE DANCE" (S1E14 REACTION!!!)

This was another great episode, Josie needs to learn to speak up because Lizzie does what she does because Josie lets her, she needs to stop being a doormat. I'm glad you're enjoying the show so far! I was shocked at the end to find out MG's mum is involved with Triad. Wild times.

I love seeing Hope’s process while trying to deal with someone she cares about dying on her. She painted a very accurate picture of Landon (preserving his memory), she tries to ignore her feelings (manifesting in nightmares that lead to magical outbursts), she attempts to literally fight her emotions away (with Alaric), she lashes out at people trying to help her, there’s obstacles in her way when it comes to her most known source of relief (turning into a wolf, like Hayley did constantly after giving Hope to Rebekah) - humans come to the school so Hope can’t just turn into a wolf at will without risk of exposure - so Hope asks Lizzie for distractions (something Lizzie is known to be very good at - she distracts herself with other people and things so she doesn’t have to focus on what’s really bothering her)…and it’s Lizzie that actually helps Hope. Three times. Lizzie gets Landon to stay inside to stop hounding Hope. Lizzie walks Hope out and away from the humans so she can scream into the wind to release some of her pent up energy (like we saw Lizzie do in 1x10). And Lizzie is the one to comfort Hope, telling her to just let out her emotions, it’s okay, and it’s safe to do so. There’s a reason Hope and Lizzie are my favorite dynamic to watch on Legacies and this episode shows why - they work so well together. I don’t get how Lizzie is wrong for picking Hope as a replacement. Hope needed a distraction, Lizzie literally worked out the math that Hope would win by a landslide (securing the victory for the school), and as far as Lizzie knows Josie thinks the pageant is misogynistic, archaic, and shouldn’t be enabled… If Josie wanted to compete, she should’ve said that - but again Josie never speaks up about what she wants, even though Lizzie has shown (in 1x11) that when Josie does say what she wants, Lizzie will make that happen. How can Lizzie know Josie’s thoughts if Josie isn’t even honest with herself, in her own journal? I love Nia. Wish MG/Nia became a couple. They’d be so cute! Josie doesn’t read the letter that Penelope gave her in 1x11.. and somehow it’s Lizzie’s fault that Josie didn’t know Penelope was leaving? Josie acts like she hates Penelope when around Lizzie so why would Lizzie think Josie cared about Penelope leaving? And Penelope is a literal bully to Lizzie so why should Lizzie care that Penelope is leaving? “Sentient jar of artisanal mayonnaise” is my FAVORITE nickname for Landon. Thank you, Lizzie. No, it’s not Caroline’s Miss Mystic Falls dress. That dress was green. Which brings up another annoyance with Josie this episode…THE DRESS HOPE IS WEARING WASNT THE ONE CAROLINE WON MISS MYSTIC FALLS IN. Josie could’ve asked Caroline (her mom) for the actual green dress if she wanted to wear it or compete in it - BUT SHE DIDNT. And somehow it’s Lizzie’s fault (again) that she let Hope wear a dress her dead father picked out and Caroline wore to the Mikaelson Ball in S3 TVD. Thank you for acknowledging that reading someone’s journal is a huge invasion of privacy. Hopefully you feel the same way in S3 lol. Love that Always plays when Lizzie goes to hug Hope. The lyrics really resonate with their entire relationship! Josie didn’t seem to care about her own twin sister when she lied to and manipulated her for years. Josie was only concerned about herself - the crush she had, the extent she went to to cover it up (burning Hope’s possessions in the process), and lying for YEARS just to keep Lizzie away from Hope for selfish reasons. And off to Belgium Penelope goes… she would’ve been a fun character to keep around. Pinkie promise and “til the bitter end”… love all the Hope and Lizzie moments!

I feel for Josie. I can relate to her situation, it’s hard growing up with someone who has more intensive needs than you. You learn implicitly that your needs are less important, and you learn to take up less space, to not communicate your own needs. Its easy to say she should just express her needs, but it becomes very difficult to unlearn those habits when they’re so ingrained since childhood. Especially since she’s barely 16. It takes a lot of growing and self reflection to stop playing your part in perpetuating the unhealthy cycle. No one is at fault, it’s just a hard situation for everyone involved

I wouldn't say legacies is as sophisticated in its style and feel as the vamp dairies, or especially the Originals, but it is a great show regardless. It's able to just have more fun and lean into the rediculousness of this universe.

I think In theory I believe in the “stand by who you live till the end even if you know they are gonna die” but I definitely don’t blame Penelope for cutting her losses and leaving. Josie’s refusal to make her wants and needs known definitely like if you aren’t willing to speak for your self your not willing to fight for yourself and when it comes to the merge the ability to fight for yourself to make your will and magic known is all there is to it…

I genuinely think that Penelope only broke up with Josie because she wanted her to start standing up for herself/toughen up so she had a chance to win the merge. We see so clearly that Josie would do anything for Lizzie so the idea of her letting Lizzie win the merge is very possible. But breaking up with her and things that would piss Josie off doesn't work the way Penelope wanted it to so she had to leave. That's my theory at least.

So no one has a problem with Josie's ex reading everyone's secrets from their diaries and exposing them?

Ok I felt bad for Josie in this episode but literally half of all her problems are her felt. Like if she would have just read the letter than she would have known Penelope was leaving. And if she would have expressed to Lizzie how much she wanted to win I’m sure Lizzie would have helped her. Josie creates these problems by not speaking up. Also Lizzie had every right to try and help hope win. The whole reason Lizzie and hope aren’t friends is because of Josie’s lies so the least she could do is let the two bond. I personally don’t like Josie much because of the stuff she does in S2 and 3 however I do feel bad for her when it comes to being a doormat. But than again kinda her felt…

IM DYING ON THIS HILL i don’t know when the fandom decided josie was the bad sister!! her being fed tf up that her sister IS the bad sister makes her worse? josie has been there for lizzie their ENTIRE life and lizzie just brushes past her until she needs her. idk how people watch and just don’t understand them.
