It's so sad the story ended when it did. The Elder God, Kain"s redemption of sorts, the Hylden resurgence and Vorador"s appearance in BO2. It could have all been tied up wonderfully. Michael Bell and Simon Templeman are still around. I know Tony Jay is gone, but there is plenty of talent out there. Get a bloody Kickstarter going or something.
@@JamesCarmichael Yup Though also it should be said that Micheal Bell is no spring chicken anymore he´s 82 years old. so if he´s going to return as Raziel it should happen soon, otherwise it might be too late. That being said what i would really LOVE to see would be for someone to persuade Amy Hennig to return and rewrite the entire series so its fits a little bit better. Blood Omen 2 suffers a bit from having been hastily rewritten into a Blood omen game. Also maybe they should consider making a remastered version with the latest graphic and some (not all of it, due to what happens in later games, not all of the cut content would make sense) of the cut content reintroduced into the different games. As for the original versions of the games, i would settle for a patch to make them run on the latest versions of PC and Mac.
As much as I want that game, or another LoK sequel, I think making a sequel nowadays would bastadize the franchise. Just look at Dead Sun and it's TikTok level dialogues. As much as games have evolved in terms of size and game mechanics, I think they devolved in terms of storytelling, drama and philosophy.

Dark Prophecy or bust. It's such a damn shame, I really wanted to play as young Kain once again in the Defiance game engine. DP was shaping up to be an amazing entry in the series.
Square Enix owns this IP now. They don't have to do anything with it, they make plenty of money on other properties. It would be great if someone could throw enough money at them to pry it away.
legacy of kain is a saga not a bloody online novelty i swear if i win the euro lottery i will make my own fucking game title of the series do not neglect your fans lest they lose interest in you.
I wish someone with respect for this Awesome Saga could buy all the rights - Then Recreate the original, remaster all the others,then continue the Saga correctly. Its so sad of what has become of this work of art.
ScannerDrome I totally agree with you! These new game developers who has sat their claws into this series is totally rapeing it! If I had money, I would have definitely bought up the rights of the Legacy of Kain series and then i would have given it what it truly deserves!
Such a shame we have not seen a proper Legacy of Kain game in such a long time. I am hopeful that someone with a proper love of the series like us fans and remaster the older ones, and perhaps eventually give us a new game where we play as Kain himself. I guess we can only dream.
@@taz0k2 That title doesn't fit the vibe of the franchise. it's too contemporary and feels like a fourth wall break. the titles of this franchise are simple yet mythical. "Soul Reaver", "Blood Omen", "Dead Sun" and the like.
If this series ever does come back, I hope they find a way to expand on both characters, not just Kain. You could have Kain get separated from the reaver only to have Raziel find a way to project his soul outside the sword, still inextricably bound to it but not imprisoned. This would force Kain to rely more on his vampirism for combat as opposed to the sword so now he could have a reason to use that sweet looking wolf form. Meanwhile Raziel could just play similarly to how he does in Defiance. Maybe it could even be a coop game where the two can split to cover more ground or join back together to be more powerful. One player could control Kain with the reaver while the other player supports Kain with different buffs or bonuses or short telekinetic sword flurries.
Cool idea. But I think more playable allies would be better. Say for example, some humans who are blood descended from the original pillar guardians &/or Kain's brood. Can you picture a great-great grandson/daughter/nephew/niece/cousin of any?

Defiance didn't sell enough copies, DP was 6 months into production before being canceled. Amy Hennig went to Naughtydog, one of the 3 writers died at a young age so it's not looking promising, there is an MMO called Nosgoth though, R.I.P. old LoK
Right there... At the cusp of greatness realized... And the IP just puffers around for practically 20 years with the people in charge of it seemingly doing their absolute best to make sure nothing ever happens with it.
This might make you smile. There's a story that blue point games is updating Blood Omen 1 with modern graphics and game play. The story claims it will play like a dark souls game. It's going to be on PS5, and a preview will be for this summer's playstation summerfest. It also claims they are working with Square Enix, the owners of LOK to get it done. JUST A RUMOR, though. If it's true, Square Enix may be testing the waters for a new LOK game.
You mean in Defiance when Janos gets possessed? Well, you kill him. Then you wait in the spectral realm where you wait for Kain in the material realm. If I remember correctly. :)
I read it was supposed to be how Kain would encounter the Hylden queen. The head honcho of her race. And she would have to constantly use her magic powers to prevent the hylden from being affected by the warping of the demon realm they were stuck in. Kain would also apparently meet the hylden king. The hylden lord in blood omen 2 was supposed to end up only being a “guild leader” basically a high ranking general, but not the top of the food chain in the hylden race.
Elder Kain would have to get Janos Audrin and bring him back from the Madness that is the Demon Realm the Hylden are stuck in. Also Elder Kain has to protect his younger self from far more powerful enemies while never encountering his younger self outright.
Janos is stuck wandering the Demon Realm / Hylden Dimension cuz the Sarafan Lord from Blood Omen 2 threw him off the Lift hovering between the Human Realm and the Hylden Realm. They were saying Elder Kain would have to bring Janos Audrin back into the Human Realm again.
