Elkins' book is thoroughly and courageously researched. Her unveiling of the horrors of the British civilizing mission in Kenya and India is particularly compelling because it allows the reader to see British liberal imperialism in its true dimensions, as opposed to the carefully packaged image constructed by Britain during the post imperial period. Outstanding work! Prof. Carlos Moreno

I read this twice and found it fascinating and highly disturbing. I then stumbled across a book called "Butler to the World" by a guy called Oliver Bullough which follows on from this very well...... His "Butler" analogy seems highly accurate and his writing is very amusing in a way too.

The atrocities committed by the British Empire against the Chinese through Opium trafficking and the two Opium Wars must also be thoroughly researched.

Those were started, and conducted, by j-ooish families. IE: The Sassoon family

There are many books 📚 available that deal with the Opium Wars which was Britain's way of compelling China to open itself to trade. Go to your local library and bookstores to check 'em out.

The "NATO" Mafia which now wants to expand into the South Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, the Eastern Pacific and across Africa and the Maghreb. The French who occupied Algeria from 1830's to 1960's caused the death of two million Algerians and tortured over 100,000 during the independence war 1953-1962 and caused thousands of death in Syria, and tried to destroy Mexico 1862-1867, The Germans (always more extreme ) who murdered an estimated 100,000 in their "protectorates" in Africa (Tanzania, Cameroon, Togo, Namibia (80,000 Nama ). The Dutch who caused the death of an estimated 100,000 in Indonesia. The Danes who transported over 100,000 African slaves to the Americas. The Portuguese, the Spanish in the Americas and the Pacific. The Italians against Ethiopia and against Lybia. And the USA after 1898 in the Phiillipines and Puerto Rico. Yes, also the Russian Empire and the Japanese "Empire" used violence. But considering the long suffering of the Irish, the British were the most disgusting colonnial gangsters.

Remember the Herero Rebellion of 1904-1906 that happened in German Southwest Africa? Imperial Germany had colonies in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific prior to August 1914.

One day the true story of the attempted genocide of the Indigenous nations of the Australian continent will be told, and hopefully it will be told by the survivors.

Those who FORGET the past may be condemned to repeat it. So, you would be wise to LEARN how and why you got to where you are at this moment.
