Best board game channel ever. Easily digestable, the length of videos are spot on and love your personalities. I would watch you review anything. Never stop the madness! Greetings from Finland
Agreed, it's a really good solid format (applied in a fair/reasonable manner) that naturally recognises there are a range of tastes, meaning the game we love, night not be liked by someone else. Them not liking it is 'right for them', and I dislike those in our hobby that try to paint the picture of games being simply 'good' or 'bad'. Add in two endearing / down to earth personalities, even if I *prefer Janis very slightly to Janis 🤫 and a setting with the microphones that I rather like. It's a great combination. * which is not true, but I might just get them wondering about who is who 😈
I looove this channel. Great hosts, asks the important questions and is not too serious or squeamish. Love it. Now, where was that secret message here?
I was interested in the game and your review popped up in my YT feed. Checked it out and subbed! Great format with the both of you and I plan to delve down into some of your other videos now. I also have a lot of love for Hadrian's Wall! Great review!
Wow, you guys are really good. Legacy of Yu is my first video I watched of you guys as of today (Feb 20th). I watch a lot of board game channels and am surprised I didn't stumble on you sooner. Great style and delivery of your reviews. I subscribed today. (From USA)
Thanks for your review! I’m not a huge solo game player but this looks so cleverly designed and appealing as a solo game that I must give it a try. Like Euro games too! Hadrian’s Wall looks to be a bit more complex game but who knows, I may eventually try it.
Thanks for sharing. Got my KS copy a few days ago and have played about 5 games. Enjoying it a lot. One thing I enjoy a lot is - for me, the game is pretty balanced the whole game. It has a beginning, mid game, and end game, but all 3 are pretty challenging. It doesn't get a lot easier or harder as I play. The player becomes more powerful by removing buildings and increasing deck size, but the challenge is greater too, because more barbarians come out as you complete canals. And, there are handicap cards that come into play based on if you win or lose. I also enjoy that there is a discard AND exhausted deck. And, as you mentioned, the cards have a basic ability, an add on ability of you discard instead exhaust, and a permanent ability on the bottom. The campaign is pretty fun in that it mixes things up a bit. A solid 5 out of 5 for me.
@@BoardGameHangover It was great! I am not usually one for campaigns but I loved this style. I usually like beige dry euros. LOL. I lost the first game, won two, and lost the fourth. game five tonight! Thanks for the video!!!!
My issue with this game is that once you figure out how to play it well (i.e., “solve” it), it becomes very same-y and routinized, and after that point you’re just going through the motions and almost guaranteed to win (unless you have bad luck). First few games (before I fully solved it) were really good though, albeit they also took much longer than I’d have liked. I managed to finish out the campaign to see the ending, but my motivation to do so was really like after game 5-6 or so.
