The best way I can describe this figure, is how Thew Adams described it. "They didn't do Bulkhead a favor by making him a new toy, they did this toy a favor by making it Bulkhead"
I love this bulkhead! It’s totally not prime bulkhead in nearly any way, but I do like him! He seems like a true boss grunt from the WFC Games. Like you’d fight him in the DS Decepticons game
I got the repaint of this guy and love it, the tinted windows on that version really help make him less see through, also the minigun is in a better looking colour. My one thing with this fella is I wish for the three digit hands as it would add a lot of character, but nevertheless he's outstanding.
I like to "deploy" the backplate as like, cover for tinier bots. It looks really gold with the core bumblebee (they pose together great in general for some animated love!)
Personally, i feel like people should look at this bulkhead as a version of himself that's been retroactively added to the G1 Universe, much like how Airachnid and a few other characters have been treated.
It's "G1" Bulkhead with a cute truck mode; really dig the camo version but waiting for the inevitable price drop - AUD $60 is way too much for this toy. Nice to have a new Vangelus review!
I'm in love with this version of Bulkhead. He looks incredible! Also why are people bugging about the Prime characters not being screen accurate when Studio Series exists? It's clear that they're gonna make characters like the Prime cast in the future, they just wanna profit from making us 2 versions of said characters (1 in Generations & 1 in Studio Series) instead of just one, cause business. It'll take a while, yeah, but we'll get there.
Whenever I go through my list of subscriptions and cull the weak youtubers from the strong I can never bring myself to cast this channel into the abyss. It's almost been a decade, and somehow, I keep coming back to watch a grown man play with toys.
So Vangelus old boy getting on Legacy train, just in time when what's coming in Legacy: Evolution in 2023 was showed yesterday. This should be interesting, seeing what other Legacy figures Vangelus has get.
Yay! Bulkie! \^^/ (I'm finding strange satisfaction in seeing a a review from a fave reviewer of a thing I only recently got myself XD) I'm a TFP fan, so I get the upset of the G1-ification, and I think it would have been solved somewhat if they utilised the empty space in the chest block by making some of the sides of it (and even the front) fold in a little, to create some curvature...qUeStIoN mArK? BTW 'who gets value out of roll tests'?! Listen here, subtitles; try rolling the stoopid grindy plug-in wheels figures like Legacy Elita-1 and Studio Series Dino and try asking that question again XD Anyway, great review as always! Always a pleasure \^^/
Fantastic review Vangelus!!!! Bulkhead is a fantastic Transformers figure, and I enjoy how he is based on G1 Bulkhead, which does not exist. lol :D Keep on being amazing.
Most of my original problems with this guy is that I think he should’ve had gorilla proportions. Inverting the arm to leg ratio would have made the lack of roundness a non issue. That said, he’s ultimately a really cool toy named Bulkhead, and I think that swell.
I've seen so many headless Bulkheads on shelves. Moreso than Skids. Arcee and Dragstrip seem to dodge most of the vandalism though (the former inexplicably, the latter because MUH MENASAR). Not a fan of the G1-ifying, nor of Breakdown's hammer being a pack-in for his largely for-the-sake-of-it Amazon exclusive (?) redeco. Just here for the slick editing mostly.
While I understand why people were annoyed he wasn't more like his Prime counterpart in looks, I have to wonder what the point would be considering those most of those Prime toys are still great and already accurate due to being made in a modern age. There's a debate to be had as to if you were unsatisfied with Legacy's Prime characters why wouldn't you just go and buy those old figures instead that I haven't really seen that much among fans.
So you wanted us to point out that Movie Hound is clearly Bulkhead, but they gave him a G1 name because they thought that would sell more tickets? Kind of like how Movie Bumblebee is actually Hot Shot?
