It seems that many people assume that an unpaved road is a footpath or bridleway and don't want to admit that a byway is just like any other road other that it is not paved. The one in the video was obviously a byway as it had the tracks on it from 4-wheeled vehicles using it often.
Sometimes only the landowners have access, so tyre tracks are no evidence of a right of way. The rule is only the police should be questioning your right to be there, and not some walker. Just tell them to report you to the police and enjoy the rest of their walk.
Part of the problem is they have shut so many byways over the years that those that are left see increased traffic volumes, also why do hose riders always use byways when they have so many more miles of bridleways ?
This has been going on for 20 years nothing new . All you can do is have respect for other users and hope more don’t get closed , more idiots more complaints more likely more will get closed
Usually these wankers on the bikes are towny/chavvy or overpaid city types too hard work to cycle quietly no respect for the countryside or anyone in it sooner we change the law the better
Rubbish. City types love cycling hence the rise of the MAMIL. It is the townies that think the countryside is just for looking nice, with pretty views...country folk who really live and work there make plenty of noise. Next time I drive a tractor down your pretty little road, you will remember that!
well why do you stupid bikers want to ride down path that's uneven and clearly used by the walking public enjoying the view and the safety from motorised vehicles and then you come along on your put puts exhaust blaring away use the road and behave like adults
les truth why can't motorcyclists enjoy the byway (legal road) and enjoy the view? Walkers have plenty of restricted paths which they can use. Don't expect to walk on a road without any motor traffic.
that's a typical remark from an idiot, so you you enjoy the view lol is that why you ride a bike in the country adding to the beauty and the peacefulness of the countryside your just to lazy to walk go and play with your put puts with the real men on the roads
if that's a road and you had to ride everywhere on that type of road surface you would be the first to complain and here's me thinking roads had nice tarmac surfaces with lane markings and sign posts
