Really fun game. Got it on PC. Only thing I wish you could do is change the color of team mascot. But still a very fun game. BTW, Beau Jaxson is in the game and is almost as good as he was in Tecmo Bowl.
Ive been playing it religiously since its release on Xbox. Loving it so far. About the only complaint i have so far is the passing game: not the biggest fan of the power meter. I find myself often times getting sacked tryin to get a good arm on a mid range throw. Its a novel idea, but i feel the execution in a fast paced arcade style game makes it a hard sell...especially when the computer can instantly generate laser passes. Definitely would've preferred the traditional lob vs bullet passing scheme. It hasnt dampened my enjoyment much, though. Ive learned to work around it
@@GamersGamut its not so much the long passes i have issue with, or even the short throws. Its just those mid range passes. Too quick (and too little power) and they loft and lose accuracy. Too much time spent building meter and either you get sacked or the defenders close on your intended receiver a little TOO quick. They require near perfect touch. Its doable. Just a bit tougher than it really should be. Still love the game though
I don’t blame you man. I can’t wait for other companies to be able to make official NFL games again. I think the players license is up now. Just not the teams or logos. So as of now they can purchase the players license and have correct rosters. Still waiting for the teams and logos contract to end. Half way there…
Hell yeah. Hopefully you dig it. I wasn’t sure at first but it quickly grew on me. I was thinking about maybe doing a few videos of me playing franchise mode. Not sure how that would play out though.
You can edit just about anything. Player names, skills, team name, uniforms etc. I’ve seen videos where someone turned it into the CFL teams. You probably won’t be able to get the official NFL logos if you’re on console Im guessing. I actually like the thought that went into some of these fake teams though so it doesn’t really bother me. I don’t think I’m going to mod mine. They’re working on a college version too called college bowl.
No it’s not online that I’ve seen. Couch co op and vs... I think there is a way using some third party software but I’m not trying to do all that. I’m curious to see what happens after it launches on consoles this month. The CPU can bring it though. My games have been really competitive on the default difficulty.
I could certainly try. I’ve never done a video like that before. I’ll give you some pointers here in the comments, and if this doesn’t help send me another message and I’ll play a match and upload it for you….The main thing is getting used to the fast meters. Both passing and kicking have super touchy meters. As far as passing goes try to get used to the timing on how long it takes to fill the bar. If you go too much though it’ll go red. You don’t want that. Just do lots of reps and passes and after a bit you should be able to adjust to the timing. You also don’t need it to be totally full. I fire bullet passes and let go at like 3/4’s full and it’s fine. Just don’t go over. If you want to do a deep pass choose a shotgun formation. The key is to give your receiver a second or two to get down field. Then just briefly hold the appropriate pass button to do a lob pass. It’s mainly just a timing thing. Experiment with how long you need to let your receiver go too. I would say for most of my passes I use a firm deliberate button press. About as long as it takes to say “one” in your head then let go. If it’s a deep pass though you have to lob it so it’s a quicker press. So basically it’s Long press = bullet pass Quick press = lob Stay out of the red part of the meter. Best routes to practice with are crossing routes and TE angle outs. And for deep ball practice, use shotgun formations with streaks on the outside. Use those player friendly receiving routes. You just want to get used to the feel of passing. Don’t sleep on the HB slip screen either. Pull the defense one way with your QB then medium pass it to the HB going the other way. You will get YARDS…. Let me know how it goes. I’ll try to record a game or two and see if I can make something useful. 🤙
@@jaceseldom8236 Oh good! Hopefully I was able to help you out a bit! I actually tried recording a tips video last night but the recording got messed up. I recently moved to making videos on my PC and I’m running into so many different problems. Especially with HDR. Recordings come out super dark or completely washed out. So I’m still dealing with this PC learning curve.
Yea its definitely not on scale. Feels like you run for 20 yds but only get 8 😂 Maybe this was done to slow the game down to sub-NBA Jam levels of scoring. Ive come to not mind it. Reminds me of football experiences like NES PlayAction Football
@@supercommando440 this is made for people that are fed up with EA negligence of Madden football for one guy he has done amazing and just because the graphics are retro does not mean it’s not a good game this one guy just out worked EA whole team !!!!
@@rickyburretta i didnt say its not a good game. It just needs some polish. Ex: offense plays should be able to go both ways, up and down screen. Simple touches go a long way. EA’s Madden and this game are Apples and Oranges. The comparisons will come, some are fair, others are not. Why bother? This is more comparable to Tecmo.
@@supercommando440 imagine if he made enough money to get a small team together and keep making good football games that’s all we ask for madden is too greedy no need to drop the same game over and over every year with no real improvement we just want good fun football in any form I play on the Nintendo so this is like the only American football game that’s actually good
That’s pretty awesome. We’re starting to see a lot more of these one man games now a days with the advancement in technology. Kind of like what happened with music. You used to have to go to an expensive studio, now you can make a full record in your bedroom. Kind of wild to see it all grow like this.
@@PaulGaither I bought legend bowl for the switch hopefully it helps finance the next one I could only imagine a clone of one of those games with elbow pads gloves different facemask and online franchise would be a dream
@@keithcalvosa5894 - I got it on launch day too... and haven't even booted it up since downloading it. I have had fun with Retro Bowl and have been making Madden 2002 content for my channel.
