I love your videos! Building plane has changed over the last 30 years. The plane is 80% completed on arrival. Back in the day, you received a box with plans, and lots of wood to cut out! Ribs, stringers, T-pins, glue mono-coat, and paint. It took months to complete a plane as nice as that one. Not taking anything away from your great abilities of building and flying! It’s just a different day and age...

G'day this was only the 2nd video of yours that I have watched and part way through I was thinking that there was something really "quality " about it that I could not quite describe? I have used the remote starter on several of my planes they were fantastic. I've also installed a few to my fellow Flyers put them on their planes after they saw what I had and how it work they thought it was also fantastic. I also use remote choke. With the remote starter you can be flying around cut your engine and then restarted while in flight, you will hear people yelling Dead stick that stick heads up, only to have the last laugh pretty funny.

i so enjoyed this build , was sad when it finished i cant wait now for the maiden flight , and wow you got some throws on those surfaces almost like my Extra 330L , hahaha , only kidding but yes your video's are done so professionally unlike many other builds but the only problem is now i'd love one of these size models for my collection its just i don't have that much room with what i do already have and definately my car wont fit that size but still great to watch and see others having fun with these big birds of the sky thanks for sharing and best luck on maiden :-))))

Dang Fitz! I am jealous. You always do such a good job on these build videos. Less than 40 minutes from the box to flying. I can't imagine how I would get mine down to such a concise length. Same exact pilot as my H9 1/4 scale Fokker DVII. Very heavy. I cut him down to bust size and mounted on a ply plate. Wow same landing gear parts too

I'm building my own J3 Cub about the size you have here with your Sea Gull but I'm getting my material from either Aircraft Wick or Aircraft Spruce and the fuselage, wings and all control surfaces will all be a dope & fabric that real planes back have used. The fabric I have is Considered standard fabric. Recommended for normal service and is widely used on all types of aircraft regardless of wing loading or horsepower. Thread count: 68 x 68/in., Weight 2.7 oz. sq. yd. Breaking strength: over 115 lbs/in, Elongation at 70 lbs. in/ Warp 9.6%, Fill 9.4%, Bursting strength: 226 PSI, Tear strength: Warp 14.0 lbs, Fill 14.8 lbs. Tension 54.2 oz/in. You put this material on loose and use a brush for the covering the that material over time will make this covering extremely tight and strong

Hi Fits when you were fitting the struts how did you fit the one that goes to that bracket off the wing as the angle doesn't match the strut as I have to bend the shit out of it the bracket off the wing, can you help me. Cheers Robbie

The problem with pullstarts and electric starts is that the one way bearing robs horsepower by friction on the crankshaft. Also it's a bit heavy. Honestly gassers start so easy so there is really no point in using it. Still a cool feature.

Hot glue, with all that vibration, engine and outdoor heat, recipe for disaster. I would have used 30min epoxy. Like always, enjoy every minute of build construction, editing and casual commentaries. 👍

Hi Fits in the motor size as you but in a 60cc single. how would a twin 60 go or a Saito FG-60R3 4C 3Cyl Gas or just 55cc what do you think look forward to your answer as I like your videos cheers Robbie

Robbe, Twin 60 would be great. FG-60R3 would fly it ok, but not as much power as 60cc gat two cycle. More scale like flying.

Just FYI split type lock washers don't actually do anything. that's why you don't see them in automotive or industry anymore.

With you talent for building these Excellent models... Maybe you should try building a full 1.1 scale Airplane & fly it yourself... As a single engine pilot I personally fine it a lot easier to correct the airplane from inside it... Try it sometime... Lol...

He does not know how to paint the fabric with Poly-Fiber paint. DO NOT use MEK as thinner, read the Poly Fiber manual! The fabric is heat-shrink, DO NOT a shrinking top cost on this fabric.
