Legend of Dragoon's Debug Menu Was Finally Accessed Without Cheats 

My dad's college students recommended this game to me when they heard my sis and I liked Final Fantasy - and I'm glad they did cause so far I played through it like 4 or so times already, and loved every time. While it's also an RPG of course, it has its very own beautiful designs, music, story, characters, battles... really appreciate this gem and hope some more (re)discover the game !

I never owned any Final Fantasy games when I was young, we owned Legend of Dragoon instead. So it’s exciting to hear about new developments like this, since I feel like the game sometimes gets overlooked!

the ghost data part is interesting, especially the stipulations on getting rid of it; I'm not particularly familiar with the structure of ps1 memory card data, but I'd imagine that just deleting the save data doesn't work because it's not clearing out the area and just removing the reference to it, and then the game is creating a new save file in the identical location which doesn't fully initialize the area either leaving behind the data, but then it would work by just copying any save data to the newly vacated area and deleting it or just deleting any sequentially earlier save data to change where the data is being written to, but if it doesn't work when there has ever been LoD save data anywhere on the card this implies that something else is going on. very intriguing

as someone who grew up with Legend of Dragoon, i'm so glad youtube recommended this to me. never thought i'd see speedrun content about this game!

Never knew this game is still relevant and being speed-run and discussed up to this day. This bring back memories and PS1 era truly has a lot of gems of RPGs

I attempted the New Game+ glitch once, and when the game loaded up, I was on the world map on the east side of Seles... the side that's impossible to reach. I thought I was trapped, but I was able to enter Seles... then the sequence where Dart runs over the hill played through, but when I entered the area where Dart roles down the hill... the role animation didn't happen, and I got trapped off screen... -_-

i still have the menu music stuck in my head and always quit before i got to meru . great game and love the debug is found .

Glad I found this channel, I can't get enough of speedrun documentaries and these are super easy and relaxing to watch. I'm not really that interested in RPGs, but in the context of speedrunning, the games being so long and complex means every time-saving discovery is huge!

Awesome to hear about the speed run of this gem. I'll have to check some out. I love(d) playing it. Biggest problem I had with the game is that my disc's would fail on me. And it was always at the same time: Right after the water Wingly and Dragon fight. (On disc 2. When you win the fight Meru gets her Dragoon stone.) The cut-scene would play, fade to black then stay black... forever... some rare times it would work. But oh man that fight. Side note: Playing on a PS2.

I had my 2nd disk of LoD stolen. It took me until last year to find a copy of it.

Legend of Dragoon is the single best RPG ever made. Always engaging, awesome story, everyone achieves resolution, it's an entire package. A game that needs no sequel or prequel, the story is complete. It's one of the games I hope gets a remaster or HD version, something to bring it's cult status to the masses... At the same time though, I don't want them to mess anything up with it like they do with remakes nowadays. A straight port would suffice like they had on PS3.

Found this video by chance, every so ofter i search LoD to see if a trailer for a remake has happened...or any remake news...and this was just a video i found after doing such a search...very interesting find, i love to hear that there are still people out there that are still playing this game like i am, and some that are pushing the game and software to its limits to speedrun it.

When I was a kid I accidentally overwrote my end game save with a new game save, and panicked and turned off my console mid save. Imagine my surprise when I looked back in and saw my end game party at the start of the game. Funny to learn all these years later that this is now a technique used in Speedrunning.

My buddy and I traded systems along with all of our games for a month, my 64 and his ps, and this is the game I jammed out the most. It is such and underrated title! Fyi I had already played and beaten FFVII on a previous trade of systems lol. Thanks for covering this unsung game.

I love Legend of Dragoon, and recently I tried to get back to it. But... this game is SO SLOW. The menu's, the inputs, the game itself. I would love to get a remaster of this that... kind of speeds up menu inputs, and text and stuff. That said... wow, this is an absurd find.

weirdly enough i just started a playthrough of it a week ago. still as fun as i remember even though it took a minute to get used to the QTE in battles again. i think i have a small delay when i play it on the ps3 probably because of the HDMI but on the vita its perfect.

i should get into speedrunning this game, the first time i played through the game i got through at sooo low a level, took like 2 hours to beat brahma with only dart being able to survive. it was an insanely low level too and i had skipped a lot of important stuff

I have been playing for 20 years and let me say I was stuck on disk two for quite a while then my disk 2 and 4 were just worn down and I was stuck in the valley for fucking forever then I bought a digital copy

I have that Jampack disc! I would play Medieval, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot Racing, Spider-Man, And Tony Hawk, andThe Legend of Dragoon! All good games. Also there was a crocodile game as well, I remember that one very well because I could never pass the levels and it was very similar to Spyro.

I love this game so much I hope Sony really put this game on PlayStation plus premium classic catalog list .

Would be cool if somebody researched into Dabas's underground adventure. It was a hidden mode that could only be unlocked with a pocketstation on the Japanese version of the game. It's so rare that there's only 1 picture of it on the internet that I could find on dragoon's fandom website, and there's only 1 video of it on the internet, which only shows the pocketstation, not the in-game part.

I spent years playing this game, and never found the debug room lol granted I was like 8 when I first played. I played up until I was 13, I still own all 4 original discs.

I really hope this game gets more attention, the LoD community has been wanting a remaster for a really long time, hopefully if it gets enough attention that remaster will finally happen.
