This game got a really dark story, never really knew it when i was a kid but hoooo boy it really hits you when you play it again as an adult. Ozma noooooooo!
Agreed and I feel the same. Legend of Legaia gets oddly more sinister late into the game with Conkram and later Rim Elm. In Conkram's case, the hundreds, if not thousands of people in that kinddom suffered like that for over a decade. . .
Dude that part with the Seru Bride program where they sacrifice the girl into the creepy lab artery to feed a demon was fucking DARK when I was 10 years old.
Top 3 all time for me. Just found a mint, complete copy btw. Oh my god, it made my year. And MGS in the same condition. I doubt they’ve ever been in a PlayStation.
Indeed. Legend of Legaia's difficulty can really catch you by surprised and utterly crush you if you are not taking those normal battles, or the Battle System itself, seriously and leveling up.
If you notice, the more that Jedo grows the less Songi relies on his own abilities. He uses physical attacks less and by the last fight his physical combos are 1-4 hits. He relies on attacks like Hyper Lightning and Genocidal Cannon to deal loads of damage instead of using arts like Gala (because I assume whatever Arts Gala knows, Songi should too since they trained together). Conversely, despite gaining Ozma, Gala still mainly relies on his own abilities (unless youre one of those players who spams Seru summons).
This fight obliterated me the first time I played ages ago. I remember him wrecking me so suddenly and I took a break from the game knowing I had to level to stand a chance, lol. That was like twenty years ago… About to replay soon.
This is my favorite part of the game because it is in a more peaceful area with a matching song to go with it. That and I love the incredible ending where Gala can straighten out Songi in one turn after taking 15 to 20 Power Elixirs!
Malik al-Kauthar IG if I remember correctly you have to get the Evil Medallion by going back to Mt. Dhini where you meet the Soren and beat the secret boss Lapis (WHICH IS NOT EASY!!!!) Lapis is OP like crazy with damage and you’ll die on one turn so you best get yourself a lot a lot of Phoenix and equip a defender chain and figure out a strategy to defeat it
I love this game and was able to play it on my phone but sadly it glitched out in conkram when traveling through the mirror but it was nice reliving old memories of this awesome game will it lasted.
there is an easy way to be beat Lapis. First, get the accessory you can get at sol tower by winning the disco. When equipped grants the wearer (IIRC), first attack or anti-ambush (can't remember which) and then cast Jedo (instant kill) it works to Lapis. Viola! Evil Medallion 😉
Opinions: was Songi fully in control when doing all this evil stuff or was it his Ra-Sim-Seru influencing him in some way? I wanted to think he was being influenced when I was younger, but watching these play-throughs I suspect otherwise.
Most likely it fueled his ambition even more. Remember he was already very shady before Noa and Vahn met him. He cheated by "tricking" Gala into eating that giliweed or whatever to win a fighting competition before and he was also power hungry wanting a Raseru for himself when the opportunity came knocking. Zeto may have tampered the Raseru he used when he turned it into a Ra-sim-seru to encourage Songi's evil ways as he seems to lose all morality after using it. That's just speculation doe. The story makes it look like he was just mean and turned very evil when he got the chance.
I think it was a bit of both. Songi always had a hint of darkness in his character and the Ra-Sim-Seru took what was already there and magnified it. It's like listening to an echo chamber of thought that is slowly corrupting you. During his fight here, he didn't seem particularly aligned to the Sim-Seru or the Mist. Even in his second encounter, it seemed like he wanted to test his strength more than anything. He didn't really impact the story much in the second act of the game. It was during this time that the corruption probably started to take hold and during the third act, his personality was basically gone.
I think it's a little of both: I think he always had resentment and anger in his heart, but the Seru turned it up to 11. I'd say the first time he shows up with Jedo, when you fight the Viguro in East Voz Forest, that's Songi at his ordinary worst: arrogant and dickish, reveling in his power, but I think he still could've had a chance to turn things around if the Seru got taken off him and he had a good talking-to. By the time he gets here, though, he's WAY too far gone.
There was a rumor before that you can get Songi replacing Gala. Im not sure if it's true or not, becoz we tried it before using GAME SHARK but the game always keep on crashing. Batang 90's ahahaha
this game must stay the way it is,.. no need to remake it, otherwise it will ruin the art of this game. keep it original as it was in your childhood memory...
Not sure if you did it intentionally but i like how you let Gala get the finishing blow on Songi because its kind of fitting. Just like you did with Noa and Cort.
Sad that Vahn didn't have an actual rival as a boss. Noa has Cort Gala has Songi If only Tetsu has a Sim Seru and becomes the big bad, and the final fight is a 3v3 with Cort Songi AND Tetsu, it would have been LIT Glad that devs have a UNIQUE response to the characters if it is specific, like Noa to Cort and Gala to Songi
In the final path before fight the final boss.. You can search item for double experiences from demon's type enemy.. You can get it if he dropped it (Accessories).. Maybe you should try it many times to get it because it's quite a bit of rare item.. My level on these game was 99/max for 4 or 5 years ago..
Here is when i finally discover how to use a point card , by then i already have alot of points 🤣 spam point card and this became my easiest boss 🤣 btw i'm the type that avoid use item in battle in all possibility to save time and item , so i never know till i use wrong item and found out it 9999 damage 😂
please if somebody expert on modding game PSX i want this game have hard mode even very hard mode on common enemy and boss like hp def atk.cause i playing this game manytime and too easy for me.i look on many site suikoden 1 even suikoden 2 and digimon world 2 already have hardmode.i sure this game can have mod change difficulty
I got stuck between the first map and the second map because i didnt read where to go. So i explored the map.... until i hit level 28 hahahaa man it was grindy but i had so much money for the point card.
