Finally a nice review of a Citizen watch, i always find everywhere peoples talking about Seiko Seiko Seiko.... I got one of this, the blue version, and it's simply stunning, the materials, the design, the solar powered movement...i love it! Cheers from Italy!
i have been eyeing this watch ever since you first reviewed it and declared it as your "watch of the year" for 2015. thank you for giving us a look at it again.
Love this watch! Just got one from SeiyaJapan with the bracelet. This has to be the most comfortable watch to wear that I've ever had. Quality of the build was fantastic.
I now have two of these! One on the rubber and one with bracelet. The bracelet includes a multiple increment diver extension like on Rolex Seamaster and Seiko Marine Master 300... incredible. If it didn't have Citizen written on the face people would spend $xxxx on this. I bought the bracelet version on Ebay for £150 ($200). Got a brand new rubber strap version on an Amazon special for £100.... Best two watches in my collection, for the money, by miles and miles.
I have the BNO 150. Very nice watch. I want the bracelet and I think I'm going with the Long Island Watch version for $59.00. Not liking the rubber band, it pulls my watch to the outside of my wrist ever so slightly.
I love my promaster diver. I have mine on a black nato, not flashy but love how accurate and reliable it is. Thanks for the review. Renewing my love for it again.
I love all my Citizen watches. I usually end up keeping them unlike all my Seiko's which I end up flipping online after a while cause I get tired of them. My next purchase will be Citizen Promaster FUGO diver but I haven't decided what color I want.
Hey Man, i love your videos! The Citizen divers as you mentioned are great quality pieces. I really like seikos but I seem to always gravitate back to Citizen. Fantastic value for the money and the QC is impeccable.
This is probably my 3rd time watching this video. I had a BN0151 (blue watch, blue strap) for more than a year, on sale. I then bought the bracelet on eBay late last year for as much as I spent on that watch. Fast forward to the last couple of months, I had sold the watch but not the bracelet, hoping Amazon would run a deal on the BN0150 (the black one) on the strap so I could order that. In the meantime, I also bought a BN0200 (titanium) on the fitted rubber strap, but it always looked larger than it felt, and the buckle would dig into my wrist so I need that one gone. Amazon finally decided to run a deal on the BN0150 for Prime Day, and I caved. So yeah, kind of a rebuy...
I really like mine. I overlooked it when I first watched this video because I thought it was odd to have a 20mm band on 44mm watch. But it looks good in person. I like the satin stainless look.
I saw the original video of this watch you posted and now I am watching this video wearing this watch. But I got the blue version with rubber strap as I didn't wanna spend the extra 120$ for just getting the bracelet
Bought this watch 2 months ago as I wanted to add a Citizen Diver eco drive to my eco drive collection. I also wanted an eco drive diver to compliment my clockwork divers. Really like Seiko watches and have a few Orient divers too but I feel the Citizen build quality leaves Seiko behind. You forgot to mention the solid end links on the Citizen diver bracelet. It has one of the best bracelets I've worn. Could've got it before Christmas for £189 but had to pay £225 and had to get from Italy as none to be had with the bracelet in the UK. The bracelet model is becoming scarce. They are selling just the original bracelet for £150 so paying an extra £75 for the complete assembly seems a good deal. Great watch channel.
The cheapest way to get one of these is to just buy the rubber strap version (~$140) and then buy the bracelet off of eBay (~$105). I've considered it but I already have a few quartz divers.
I have the 0040 and the 0150, both of which are great. Haven't worn any of my Seiko's for months. The 0150 keeps perfect time and never needs adjusting. In fact, if it had the perpetual calendar, I don't think you'd ever have to adjust it, well, that's probably an overstatement, but it's close. Also, Citizen's QC is much better...I just cannot un-see my Turtle's misalignment at 12 and 6 o'clock.
Hi.. I love Citizen over Seiko. I guess that is only a brand loyalty thing which prompts me to ask you about that single case watch showcased in this video. I really like it and i wonder if that is something i can still get with the part number, etc. Thank you..
Minus4Plus6 i agree. Because they would definitely take the time to regulate the watch to 5 to 10 seconds and not the stupid 30 seconds seiko roll out of the factory for the 7s26
Great video, I love this watch! had one for 6 months and the quality is so good , especially for the price. If they sold one with a sapphire crystal, it would be perfect! Cheers!
I got a deal on a BN0151 (blue) a month ago. It's on a blue/orange NATO (which are hard to find). A blue watch is a different look on my wrist, but it's growing on me.
I went with the Citizen Promaster Diver BN0191-55L over this model because I could not get over the look of the minute hand. (Is that a rocket ship or a certain anatomical part?) The hands on this model seem too short, which is not a problem with my BN0191-55L, Orient Ray II or Orient Triton. I have 12 Eco-Drives and the quality control is extraordinary, which has not been the case with my Seikos. My latest Seiko is a SUN037 Kinetic GMT. When it arrived, I thought I finally had a Seiko with perfect alignment and finishing. When I was admiring it with a magnifier is when I spotted the hair under one of the indices. It can’t be unseen.
Wearing my JDM Global Marine for the occasion and gotta love how it's built to such tight tolerances for the price, shop around cause you can find the SS bracelet version for as low as $270 on eBay.
I have the blue version of this watch on the rubber strap. Can you advise where you obtained the oem bracelets from? I’ve not been able to find a vendor for them
I just bought the same watch and ordered the bracelet. It is on back order, but I was told it might take a couple weeks. Some of the reviews here suggest a couple months. bands.hurleyrobertsservice.com/products/band-pins-combo-citizen-watch-bracelet-silver-tone-stainless-steel-part-59-s06105-with-band-to-case-pins
emergency: I bought two at the same time, one black and one blue. i just noticed that the second hand of the black one moves forward every two seconds, the blue one moves every second. Both watches have been running time pretty accurately for the last three days. what is going on? can someone explain this?
There is literally only 1 thing that I dislike about the BN0150/51 and that is that the minute and seconds hands need to be about 1.5mm longer. If they did that, this would be the absolute perfect diver.
Thank you, after seeing your review, I picked up the BN0150-28E from Amazon.ca recently on sale $203 Cdn. Is it me, I find the hands (minute and hour) are blue line and all minute markers are green. Mine came on rubber strap. Great watch!
The perfect one watch collection item, except it needed a 22mm lug size to show more proportioned ...I usually wear it with 22mm silicon straps or 22mm Nato's ;)
Hey Sir, I was wondering about the metal band, I have been looking for one, found a few online but not sure if they are originally made in china or japan?
Citizen needs to make an automatic version of this exact model without any changes. Well, perhaps the date wheel could be closer to the dial and a bit larger.
Can you at all teel me how to find out the model of my citizen manuel wind from 1975.it is stainless steel with a stainless screens date adjust all manuel. It was about 590 dollars at the time. I also wonder what it would be worth today? The glass stood about 4 maybe 5 Mm above bezel and it could be accessed through the rear. The glass was quartz and very thick. It had luminous markings for time reading at night.it was 21 or 25 jewels
I'd just buy the BN0150/151 and buy the bracelet if you needed it vs paying that price to import. I think Hurley Roberts sells the bracelet for $130. I bought the BN0151 for ~$90 on an Amazon sale, so the bracelet would be more than the watch for me. Love the watch.
I sleep with my kinetic tuna. I charge the lume in my desk lamp just before I go to sleep, and I can wake up at any time and easily read the watch. Even better than tritium 25 (I've never tried t100 yet)
This is a really nice watch. Unfortunately, the Bracelet version is over twice the price of the rubber strap version. Besides that, its great. I only have 1 Citizen, a NY-0080 Fugu. It’s also really nice with no QC issues
Can someone guide me? I am a G shock user and also learning diving. Now, I want a proper diving watch. I am aware quartz is pretty reliable under water but I do not remember when I last changed the battery of my G shock. So that doubt always exists when I take it under water. I go with a group so someone is there for support if my watch stops for any reason. Is there a reason why Citizen uses Eco drive for dive watches? Is this more reliable than an automatic dive watch? Please help me with the correct information.
I just got one for under $200 delivered in the US. Don't buy from Japan - their prices are insanely high, even for used watches. They kill you for new ones.
The ones they sell in Japan are Made in Japan and have different product code BN0156-56e. It still doesn’t justify more than double the price of this international model.
I just received one of these (not Japan made) and I'm totally disappointed. Alignment of bezel/chapter ring/indices is slightly off. The biggest disappointment for me is that the seconds hand on mine hits in between markers. Can't stand that on quartz watches and that's why it's not a good idea to buy quartz online as you can not inspect it. I even asked them to check that before shipping it to me. Now I have to return it and file paperwork for refund of import fees paid, etc. Such a hassle. It looks like Citizens are also hit and miss when it comes to quality check. Maybe the Japan made have better inspection not sure. Nice watch and bracelet, but to me the most important part of a watch is the dial, that's what you look at all the time, and if there are issues on the dial, the bracelet and case quality don't matter much to me at that point.
@@maverickwatchreviews Exactly! Every video and all the pictures of this watch I've seen, all show perfect alignment and dead on seconds hand. Except one video that seem to show seconds hand off, but not as much as mine which on one half of the dial hits in between markers and the other half is acceptable, almost perfect. It's going back for replacement.
@@valueink mine does the same with the seconds hand. It keeps time very well over a course of a month so I'm good with it. I'd be happy with it even if it came without a seconds hand, lol.
The SKX got NOTHING on this watch. I dont care what any seiko fan boy got to say. I love seiko but they gotta seriously get there shit together because Citizen is stepping up there game as u said. I have one seiko automatic left in my collection. Its the bottle cap and its gaining 40 seconds a day. Im only keeping it cause its a gift from my girl. I love my seiko but no one wants to regulate it for me where i live. Im sick of having to pull out the crown everyday for half a minute. I got better shit to do!!! Quality control at seiko is pathetic and we are the biggest suckers to keep buying there watches. I will def consider buying the arnie black and white version if the second hand hits the mark. I sold my baby tuna pepsi after three weeks cause the seconds hand was all over the place ans the red on the bezel was faded Okay rant is over. But seriously this citizen is the first citizen i will be buying.
I have skinny wrist,I wear it with no problem...Just need his bracelet or a 22 silicon strap or a Nato, because the 20mm lugs, make it a little bigger than it is
I'd say so. Bought mine new a month ago for $250 and love it so far. I love the fact it's solar and very rugged. Unlike the video, mine came in a mini yellow scuba tank which was cool.
@@maverickwatchreviews Please may I know which 200M diver is good for SERVICELESS many year usage? Automatic or Eco Drive? Where I live, I'm not sure about the authentic service shops, so I want use the watch without opening the back of the watch. Please recommend me a watch out of above.(Please ignore the comfort of bracelet because I only have access to rubber strap ones)
I've had this watch for two years, was perfectly fine. Unfortunately now after two years my battery seems to not charge properly anymore which is pretty sad and I guess repairing it would probably cost more than this watch is worth.... gonna buy the NY0087-13EE instead.
