When she climbed on Drogon, their bond was cemented. Always loved this scene. He always protected her. He was the only one that saw the iron throne as the true enemy. Loved when he melted it.
@@thewhitedoncheadle8345 Who failed? Drogon? Do you just failing to protect Dany from dipshit Jon killing her? Or burning King’s Landing to the ground?
Yes it was epic , I can't wait for ,house of dragons, just saw the new trailer,it looks well done, except so many people whined and complained about the violence that they took it down a notch in this upcoming prequel which is such bullshit
@@DutchGuyMike season 7 still had good story points, bad dialogue but the actual story of the characters still made sense, and the development was also acceptable, it felt rushed a bit but it felt somewhat alright still, but season 8 is just... bad... on all accounts...
Jesus christ will yall please get over it?? You guys whine incessantly about something that ended like 3 YEARS AGO FFS. It's over. It happened. Move on
@@ndo533 No, they single-handedly killed this show and it's re-playability just so the writers could fuck off to a show they didnt even get to write for. Shame on them for being horrible writers
I always imagined her taking back the Iron Throne and making right with how everyone was ruled. She seemed to be headed down the path of wanting to help the world.. not watch it burn. Really terrible vision for how all this ended. So many characters were done dirty.
@@tj7094 This is America after all, and the prime function of american cinema is propaganda. The characters that seek to advance the cause of equity and societal change always end up being portrayed as two-faced genocidal sociopaths that must be neutralized by any means necessary (and with the aid of the US army whenever the setting allows for it). This trope has become a staple of pop culture and mainstream cinema, if you look closely it's everywhere (looking at you MCU), and it is often delivered in this way: at first the social warrior character is very endearing and makes a lot of sense, the viewer is rallied to their benevolent cause, and then the social warrior just snaps and starts murdering a bunch of innocent people out of nowhere (often for reasons that don't even make sense plot-wise). General shock and disbelief ensue, the other protagonists leave their differences aside and assemble as a team to defeat the polarizing villain (often including historic companions or former trusted lieutenants of the antagonist, to really highlight how unilaterally evil he or she has become); ultimately the wannabe-tyrant is defeated, everyone magically forgets about the noble cause that initially propelled the whole plot because, you know, whatevs, and all things go back to the way they were ; fade out, roll credits to Hans Zimmerlike music theme, and see you again on the next adventure that will play out in exactly the same way. The underlying goal of all this is to plant a very precise, carefully crafted image in the subconscious minds of the masses: "Trying to better this world will always make things worse than they were to begin with; any leader who promises you profound societal change is not to be trusted, they must necessarily be a delusional idealist that will inevitably prove to be dangerously insane and betray you in the end, causing a lot of innocent deaths in the process that could be easily avoided if yall would just shut yer mouths, do as you're told, and not try to improve anything." Peak anti-socialist brainwashing to the rescue of the status quo
@@jonathanman8299 He came before, when slaves and masters clash at first, they rushed Daenaris to her room, he came on top of the roof, realizing she was fine and he left again..Think he could sense when she’s in danger..
I just love how she looks at Drogon - sure she is relieved that she is now safe, but I feel it is true "motherly" love. She is just happy to see him again, like a mother whose teenager son ran away to be in a rock band when he was a
The only criticism I have of this truly amazing scene is that Dany tells Drogon to fly. In the book she climbs on his back to dislodge a spear, and he choses to fly her away from danger. Dany telling Drogon to fly is out of character, as I think she would never chose to abandon her friends and allies in harms way, least of all Missandie.
Yes, true, but at this point the battle was over. She was leaving after the bad guys had mostly been killed. It felt to me very natural she would want some respite so decided to fly away with Drogon.
Well they were babies throughout the entire series. Even at the very end, when they were at their biggest, they were still babies. In the ASOIAF universe dragons continue to grow forever. Balerion, the dragon who forged the Iron Throne and the dragon Aegon the Conqueror rode when he took over Westeros, died when he was about 200 years old and was WAY bigger that ever season 8’s version of Drogon. I’m going full on nerd here, but I can’t remember if it’s ever mentioned in any of the reading material if the scales of dragons harden as they age, but you’re right…in Game of Thrones they’re not invincible. They can be injured and killed. But once they’re fully grown they’re pretty much invincible. One, Meraxes, was killed down in Dorne, but that was only because they got lucky and just happened to shoot a scorpion arrow through her eye.
@@Whoopdido777 Was this from Fire and Blood? I just picked up a pristine hard cover, at a charity thrift store, for 50 cents. The GOT books were a great read.
@@kerrysmith1899 Umm. It might be in Fire and Blood. I have it, but have only just started it. I got that information from “The World of Ice and Fire”. It’s a huge book, but really cool too because it has a lot of great pictures in it. It details the entire history of the ASOIAF universe going all the way back to the children of the forest and the arrival of the first men, Targaryen history and I believe ends with Robert’s Rebellion because we know everything that happens after that because of the 5 books he wrote and, of course the series. It also details each House and gives a history about each one. Like it talks about the Rains of Castamere, for example and what exactly happened. If you haven’t read it, I suggest it. It can be a bit of a slog at times because it reads like a textbook, but there’s a lot of interesting information. I think it’s similar to Fire and Blood because that reads like a textbook too. Both of those books are basically meant to just be supplemental history books.
Props to the special effects folk on GOT. Not only are the dragons absolutely amazing, but what they do, like burning the soldiers, flying...all so realistic. You made us SEE fantasy
@@danmystro The soldiers burning is a practical effect, not cgi... They wear a protective suit underneath the costumes and they burn for real for a few seconds.
Emilia Clarke is really a magnificent actress"" the way she looks at the dragon is not someone whose seeing a rescue*but a mother seeing a long lost child *u can see the love in her eyes 😁😁 wow
which is even more amazing acting when you remember she's really looking at something like a child's horse on a stick or some thing made in a shape with no eyes and yet she can look at it that way still. THAT is great acting!
The significance of this scene is truly unreal! The first Targaryen to ride a dragon since the Dance of the Dragons centuries earlier, the name given to this very episode!
Dany flying off is the most legendary scene, I remember how in awe I was when I first saw it. I was so happy and excited, legendary... Now that HoTD is here, we will see more of the awesomeness of dragons breathing fire. I can't believe they almost made a spin off focused on the children of something something. I'm glad they chose to focus on the Targaryens
@@lovecandyshop I don't know, remember when Hodor died after the homies found their location in the cave? Those creatures with magic powers. They're called children of ?? Can't remember the full name
I can’t resist a good dragon!!! My other favorite scene is when Danny flies in on him to the meeting with Cerse Lannister. Perfect entrance to let Cerse know she was not the least bit intimidated by her!
But Dany let Cersei get the upper hand after that grand entrance. Cersei said, "You're late". To which Dany said, "My apologies." I was really hoping Dany would have said, "Headwinds beaatch."
I love how the dragons in GoT, particularly Drogon, are scary AF. That shot when he roars (screeches?) in her face, with that sideways movement... the stuff of nightmares. Much more primal than later seasons. Awesome.
From this I learned three things: 1. Dragons are really dangerous opponents, so much so that their main weapon is intimidation: few would dare attack one. 2. Dragons are intelligent creatures, and recognize when someone wants to help them. 3. That lady has extraordinarily courage.
Watch the show my dude. She's the mother of dragons. Dragons on GOT are violent, frankly vindictive overgrown children (These are fairly young dragons in the scheme of things, we dont see older ones so maybe the are a bit more even tempered, but these ones will happily roam the countryside terrorising people and lighting villages on fire , left to their own devices. Something thats generally not something one wants to do on this show.), but they are bound to her, and historically to her family line, and she literally walked out of the fire with them. Shes magically bound to them as their mother.
This scene is stronger than it looks at first sight. This scene has been preceded by scenes where extensive doubts were raised by one and all, even Tyrion, about dragons and the power of Daenerys. The people involved in this process of diminishing belief in the power of Daenerys were all present in this fight.
This Show was a master piece of epicenes and story telling and then came season eight an all the other seven seasons were forgotten. What a sad legacy for this great show.
My pet recently passed away and I don’t know why but he always reminded me of drogon. So fierce and such a mommy’s boy. Protective and really misunderstood by everyone else. Now it’s so hard to watch these scenes without thinking of my baby but I love drogon so much and rip Ludi 😭💕
Tyrion's face at the end “it’s all epic that she is riding Drogon....but did she just leave us here to die? She did see that we are still outnumbered right? Right?!!!
It’s Emilia Clarke’s Birthday today and she said in a video interview this scene was shot on her birthday as well. The first time she rode Drogon was on her real life birthday.
Tyrion was potentially the best character in the entire show. His reactions to the crazy things that happen provide so much humanity. You can tell he's just in complete awe at the incredible nature of the moment.
I forgot how amazing Game of Thrones is. After the final season especially that last episode I was left wondering how I ever liked the show so much. I think I need to go back and watch it from the beginning.
@LEO GAMING Ok great idea.... But One friendly advice brother... If you are going to watch GOT... then just watch it till season 7 & then stop & imagine it ended there.... Don't watch the 8th season. You'll regret it if you watch it.
OMG, I never watched this show, but if I had a dragon who came and rescued me like that, torching my enemies, I would be in HEAVEN. I hope that he lived, I don't know how this ended, but WHAT a scene !
Because of their bond . Because she was the one who raise him . This give the impression of the saying or sayings of "I'm coming Mama !!!!" , "Don't you touch my mama !!!!" and "Stay away from my mom !!!!" in general .
