Mashtooth was certainly more challenging than most of the bosses in this game (I personally find Snips harder, though), but nothing ridiculous (His first form was easy, but his second form could be a little bit annoying at times). Though I do agree that the Final Boss theme was good.
That's exactly why I almost ALWAYS use my index finger for severe cases of button mashing like this. Unless it's Sonic Rush (two buttons to mash at once... thanks for that).

I hated how if you lost. it made you refight mashtooth. I got so mad I restarted my progress (I was young don't judge) and my brother yelled at me for about a day
Tyler_318 I swear I delete my save file because I couldn't get pass world 7-3 I was so pissed I delete all my files when I got older I finally beat it and another thing I had my mom help me with the button mashing part so this game is awesome but hard and another thing even tho I got passed ronks second battle as a kid I couldn't beat him again for a month
These games have some pretty unique main antagonists... A magical shapeshifting eel, the embodiment of pure evil, a strangely attractive anime villainess eel, and an alien dragon. ^^ Strange and unique.
This game is the reason why my friends allways call me when there's a button mashing section in games. This game has trained me to be the button mashing expert I am today. I can proudly say that I can now do the final mashing section in Starfy... With my thumb. Thats right! No stroking my index finger across the buttons and creating enough friction to start a fire, I can do it with my thumb. I am a hardened man because of this game. The faded letter of my Y button will forever remind me of that. ~ That guy that leaves meaningless and long comments. And is the button mashing master.
I didn't know what I was doing I didn't read anything from this game the final boss when I do the ball thing on him my finger was so slow 😂But I have beaten the game and I didn't know how to find the super boss.... I wish I could play it again :3
Man, the memories. I remember first listening to this game's boss theme and I had to pause. After playing the entirety of the GBA series, I really expected the classic theme to play. But man was I blown away. It's just so bumpy and cheerful. Really gets you moving!
Man, I'll never forget how mind blown I was when Starfy, a 2D Sprite would fight against 3D model characters, especially with the final boss fight against Mashtooth. We need more games like that.
Rangris Yeah, I've play all of them except I haven't gotten trough 2 all the way. Evil is so hard! But I love these games cause they're fun. The stories are goofy especially this one. But like the bosses have one attack each in this installment while the others have 3-5
Well, this game does seem a bit far removed from the rest of the series. I mean, they didn’t have Konk as the first boss, and they actually made an original boss theme for this game, breaking two trends with the bosses alone.
Empoleon77 I would say both DS games are removed from the original trilogy in their own way and in a similar way. There is also a lot of things this game has similarly to the gba games that 4 does not. 5 here has mini games, more traditional levels, has no spill abilities and uses hearts instead of a health meter. Though 4 and 5, unlike the gba games both have different health systems and health upgrades. They also have a plot that doesn’t revolve around the safety of pufftop
As a kid, I never figured out the strategy to defeat the rock paper scissors part, I always thought it was just based on luck lol. Anyone else have that happen?
I remember... I was able to always get to the final button mashing section as a kid, and just could never beat it. And I never did, even to this day. Yet now, I can button mash faster than anyone I swear. I should make a return to this game... perhaps on emulator.
I was a huge Starfy fan as a kid. I love the cute style of it! I wanna get this game again and play through it sometime. Update: I FOUND MY OLD COPY :D and I finally beat that stupid final boss fight that I could never defeat as a kid. I have yet to beat Old Man Lober however...
I discovered this game with a messup at a shop where my mom ordered Kirby squeak squad for my birthday. and I accidentally got sent this instead. But when I finally got squeak squad, Legendary Starfy was actually better.
Still hoping we get remakes of all 5 games in *english* *Starfy 3 actually had some shockingly grim lore like you'd expect from an actual kirby game...nobody's publicly translated it.*
I learned to mash incredibly fast because of Mashtooth. It was so annoying but damn was it satisfying launching that moon into his face. Also, I realized while typing this that the word “mash” is in Mashtooth‘s name
I had this game when I was in elementary school and i stopped playing the game for like 6 years because I couldn’t mash the button fast enough on the final boss and one day I picked it up and beat it lol
I played this when I was six and had to ask my dad for help when the mash tooth fight came up, I still have the same ds, about to go and play his again
Starfy doesn't even have enough techniques to become a playable character. I'm surprised he's even still showing up as a trophy. How long has it been since he had a game?
Frisbeans You clearly haven’t played the game. His whole point is to platform the terrain. He has forms and various different moves. Not all of it is spinning.
@@frisbeans9144 There was the Duck Hunt dog in Sm4sh. Not enough moves isn't really an excuse when there can be new ones given. There's also the Shooting Star move and the Powerful Spin from previous games.

Back when i was younger and less experienced with games. I remember this was a really hard boss fight. It took many tries tries to win. It was probably because of the different gameplay, then the other boss fights, the content onslaught of projectiles and the hard to hit weak spot. (maybe if I tried again today it would be less challenging.)
GG Channel Oh I see. I was able to clear that no problem. But sometimes it was hard to dodge or hit the bombs/rocks with the mine cart. I still have this game to do this.
