As a lifelong Phoenix Suns fan, I have listened to the best of Al McCoy! Let’s Win It All This Year For Al !

My Childhood , My 20's , 30's , 40's , and now 50's..................Al McCoy has been there thru them all . All I can say is .........THANK YOU !!! I've enjoyed every single season with you at the helm Sir .

I have listened to Al McCoy since 1973. What a man, what a great Suns personality.

As a lifelong phx suns fan Al is all I’ve known. He’s the purest smoothest fastest smartest most professional ist bestest caller ever! We will miss you so much and I truly hope we can win a ring in your honor finally this year.. someone is going to have to invent Ai Al even know nothing can ever replace his pipes. Super class all the way! THANK YOU AL!!!!!!!!!!

Al I remember you since I started watching when I was 10 years old in 93'. What stand out to me the most is how you never had a bad thing to say about anyone! You were always the most positive force for this organization! Thank you for being such a good example of how to be a decent human being!

I remember so many games during that 92-93 season being riveted by Al McCoy's play-by-play. Although I no longer live in Arizona, I'm going to miss his voice. I hope the Suns go deep in the playoffs to extend his time broadcasting.

Unreal, we moved here in 76 I think ( I was small) and here we are, almost 50 years later, the retiring of familiar voices is way more painful than retiring players.....Godspeed AL.....

Al deserves a statue 💯

Native Arizonan here, 55. Al McCoy’s been part of my whole life of Suns history. Listened so many times growing up to Suns games and made them exciting. I listened to a game recently on purpose and the man hasn’t missed a beat. Took me back to being 8 years old. Loved his catchphrases and names he gave players over the years; Alvin Adams “The Oklahoma Kid” Dick Van Ardsdale “The Flying Dutchman” Walter Davis “The Greyhound” and “Sweet D” Paul Westphal “Westy” “Leaping” Larry Nance “The Madhouse on McDowell” Old Veterans memorial coliseum. “The Purple palace” America West arena. His iconic radio comment on game 5 of the 1976 NBA finals vs. Boston. After Gar Heards “rainbow” shot, (another of Al’s phases) he said: “I’ll tel you something, somebody up there is on our side!” He coined that shot as well. “The shot Heard around the world.” These are just a few from memory and so much more. And he’s still uses them today. Thanks Al McCoy for a lifetime of Suns memories!

I got his autograph when i was 14 in 1979 waiting outside the Vet. I got several autographs.. Alvin Adams, Alvin Scott, Paul Westphal, Walt Davis,Mike Bratz, Don Buse... but his autograph is the one that I can clearly remember getting. I can clearly remember him walking up to me and signing the Hoop magazine I had. The man looked so tired... Thank you Al McCoy!
