Raman Well said. Yes, Rip deserves his own show. He is rather underrated, for such a brilliant actor and a complex character. I must say though, Rip's death was very sudden. The entire scene felt too quick. He didn't really get much of a sendoff. Even though the flashbacks were poignant, it fell short of my expectations for a sendoff for the character. There could have been more to it.
"What the hell do you think your doing?!?!?!?!" "Changing the future. Its called marriage." Oh wait, wrong show with featuring that actor making a noble sacrifice to save the day.
I miss the days when Rip was the captain. I mean Sara does the job great, but a Rip just brings something else to it. It’s really weird to see him as just another person on the team. I remember when the legends would get themselves into trouble and Rip would appear at just the right moment. Then Rip dies and at least we have Constantine but still. I MISS RIP.
@@montyx9994 I don't know about your opinion, but all during Season 3, Rip may have not be written off correctly... But so was Sara... She was acting like a spoiled little entitled brat "I'm the captain now. I know what I'm doing..." I loved her on S01 & 2, but after Rip scattered them, I started to get kind of annoyed at her...
@@NagataYuki5fr, same. also i feel as if her Romance with Ava was really odd. I have nothing against lesbian/bisexual relationships, but i’m not just talking about her, i feel as if Nathaniel’s with Amaya’s was weird and forced as well, like hers. also, Mick said he wasn’t taking orders from anyone, and then less than a season later he was their puppy. Yeah, this show was written oddly from the second season to the end.
"Goodbye Captain" Always appreciated how Sara, even when in charge of the Legends herself, still consistently called him that. I get the fangirls have their obsession over ava and sara and that's cool but Rip had a great impact on Sara's life too, he showed her what potential she truly had.
And as Rip was saying goodbye to Gideon, I could also sense the sadness in Gideon’s voice, calling Rip by his first name, which she has never done before now. She’s lost a Captain and a friend. Noone got out of this episode without scars. Gideon, Nora, and the Legends. They all lost someone in the finale due to sacrifice.
Kendal Moraes yeah he is also my favorite character they treated him like he was nothing unless they do something I'm not watching legends again they rather have a stupid toy win the day instead of the leader captain rip hunter lazy and stupid writing
Melee Hell | Bot Well obviously we have differences in opinion and that’s no reason for calling names when I think Rip’s sacrifice was completely unnecessary. I like his character and I don’t have to stop being upset about it just because you’re not.
This was the worst death in the Arrowverse next to Laurel’s. He’s been such an important character to the series and they give him this rushed shit?? Come on. Rip deserved better.
Arthur Darvill had a busy schedule doing other projects and was only a reccuring guest when available after season 1. He didn't want to move to Vancouver like the rest and live there for 9 months each year.
The man who lost everything to gain so much more. He lost his family, he lost his job, he even lost his ship and crew, he lost his new job, and then he lost his life. But in return he saved the world and all of history 3 times over.... he did everything he could... so he could save us all. But he was never a hero.... he was so much more... Michael.... was ..... A LEGEND R.I.P Rip. you'll always be my fav.
"I'm starting to think letting Malice out if his cage was a bad idea." Aruba later... "Whose brilliant idea was it to let an ancient time demon out of his cage? Well you opened a door. And Malice wasn't the only thing that got out."
And Jax leaving. Yeah true they should have shown Rip's reaction to Martin's death and Jax leaving because he recruited them and worked together in season 1.
"Everyone dies alone, but if you mean something to someone, if you help someone, or love someone, if even a single person remembers you, then maybe you never really die at all." "And what I've found is that often the moment in a person's life that matters the most, when you truly know who they are and why they did what they did is often their last one."

wolverine 1 I know it’s been a year dude but do even know the behind the scenes of this? For ally you know this needed to happen for the actors personal reasons. Sometimes it’s not always just about the fans writers make do with what they have and so do the actors
DEATHSTROKE no. In the comic, booster is Rip Hunter's father. With so many references of Ted Kord (who in the comic is the brst friend of Booster Gold) in Arrowverse, one can only hope that Booster Gold and Ted Kord Blue Beetle can or will appeared sometime in Arrowverse. And i think the great opportunity to introduce Booster Gold ate either by saving his Rip at this moment or later OR in the Legends season 4 or later. After all, Legends is funny show and Booster is a funny character too. So yeah, Booster will better fit in in the Legends.
He is the captain who recruited the team.when he returned back from hypnosis he lost the ship. He then created the time bureau. He was arrested by them. Then he joined as agent in the time bureau. Then he died . They didn't even made his death worth but just to buy some time for legends to escape.
I've waited half a season for him to come back and then he dies almost immediately. RIP was ma fave character in the show i don't think i have the courage to continue to watch now that he's gone ;(
God, the feels watching this again...the former captain of the Waverider and the team, the founder of the Legends, going out in a blaze of glory. Arthur's performance, Blake Neely's epic score...it makes Rip's sacrifice one of the most epic send-offs for an Arrowverse character. I also feel that Legends would never reach these heights again. Season 1 was fun, and the show peaked with Seasons 2 & 3 (BOTH epic!). I didn't enjoy Seasons 4 & 5...Legends of Tomorrow became too ridiculous for its own good.
This is the reason why I should agree with you. I wished these season should be forgotten and should ended with season 3. Because I agree with season 1 to 3. They have the best characters, until forward in the show ruins it. They ruin my favorite character kisses with that stupid useless character I hate so much. And I also hate how they put my character sara lance so much crap and crisis she gone through. I love the characters and the story through season 1 to 3. I hate season 4 to the end of other show. I understand you and other people opinions. I prefer Nyssara ship. They are my favorite ship because they the first love of my heart and I prefer with only one beloved wife or girlfriend.
When they need a way to cut off a character at the last minute. Does anyone else think that Rip’s death was very in organized. I mean like his death was so random.
Quirrel CZ u can blame Barry he messed the timeline again he should of learned his lesson by now to just let time run its course iris was meant to happen
Isaaic Te I know right? Booster in Justice League Unlimited and Justice League Action Cartoon was amazing and hilarious, he is funny just like Legends. He will be perfect team member for Legends if he ever appeared.
Season 3 really was the changing point of the season. We had to say goodbye to Stein, Jax, Rip, and Amaya as characters. And they killed half of them off. I honestly think both deaths were equally heartbreaking. Oh and I guess we said goodbye to Wally too, but at least he came back on the Flash
R.I.P Captain Hunter last of the Time Masters u died a legend a true legend of selflessness and sacrifice. Got a admit that soundtrack really completed the scene very well done👏👏👏 the best I've heard so far
For me, this is last episode for legend of tommorow, i never watch again after rip hunter is gone, and i will watch again when rip come back, just like that
I think that after the death of Rip Hunter this series was no more the same. It became only a comic show and there is almost no more the atmosphere of the first three season that I loved. To think that we lost Rip for characters like Berhard or Gary make me feel very sad.
Behrad was a good character... I like the actor, but Gary was a washed out JOKE by the end of the Season 7 finale, and the supposed "plot twist" was just... NOT IT.... I really wanted to know if they at least mourned their former Captain, a man that sacrificed SO much... But no... And as much as I loved Constantine and Zari, and the love story of Nora and Ray... Man, that show ended up being a doped up joke... Even "the hippie" as Malcolm called "Phil", would have done a better job... Even on drugs... 😢 😢
@@NagataYuki5fr bro, your takes in this comment section are W’s. Rip solos every new character post S3. I don’t get the appeal for Behrad, and replacing Rip with him and Gary? yeah, nope.
Do i fucking know you? It might be, these shows likes to revive or bring back died characters. Also Arthur Darvill contract won't end after this season with legends
I really miss rip. I always saw him as the straight man. Always pointing out when one of the legends was acting crazy or being weird. That's what's hilarious about him. What makes him the bravest is that even though he didn't have super powers he still fought like a hero. He was the original legend and what makes me mad is that the show treated him like he didn't matter as much as the other characters. People seem to forget he brought them together and he taught them everything he knew about time travel. Sara wouldn't be the person she is now if he wasn't there to influence her. He saw the best in her and was there for her when she lost her sister. Before meeting him, she would fight and kill people without holding back. She's a great captain now because of him.
Its so good that they played a modified version of the theme that plays when rip shows them a hologram of the end of the world in 1x1 . symbolizing his appereance and goodbye in the series , goodbye captain hunter.
"Everyone dies alone, but if you mean something to someone, if you help someone, or love someone, if even a single person remembers you, then maybe you never really die at all."
@@alanreyes6082 captain cold had no chance of surviving that explosion.....Gideon literally said that there is a chance rip might come back..so did one of the directors
@@sirim5058 crisis on infinite Earths? Rip is there in the comics. I hope this happens. I mean they even have Tom Welling reprising his role they can at least bring back Rip lol.
Heard he left the show because he wanted to go back home and be with his family. I don't think Legends will have that many seasons on CW, so if he does come back, it will be for the very last season of Legends.
Honestly this didn't make me cry like the way season one did....I honestly feel happy for him, like I'm sad that he's leaving the show, but he's finally with his family, and knowing that my favorite character went out like a legend is ok for me. Also I hate how everyone basically forgot about him.
