An obscure show of an obscure team. The image at the 6:15 mark is by SFToon: www.deviantart... Had to use fan art because there's actually not a lot of images of this version of that character.
Your first sentence was the question I've been pondering for a long, long time! There is not good reason for so many people sleeping on this show! This was pretty much my first real exposure to anything Superman (although of course I knew general things about him with him being the icon that he is). It also made me huge fans of Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5, and Timberwolf. Favorite arcs/episodes have to be the Timberwolf episodes, Lightning Lad and his brother episodes, and the epode where they had auditions. Also, so much respect for the the dark tone and actually have characters die in the second seasons. It really was more intense and mature but in the best ways!
This was such a solid show! Not one of the best DC shows, but it was a great adaptation of the Legion. I wish they aired the show on Cartoon Network after they canned it. I hope DC Universe (as in The new streaming service) makes a third season!
Good thing you mentioned the cliffhanger. After I see this series, I'll just pretend there's no cliffhanger so that I can feel better about the show's resolution.
I watched this show for the first time when I was 13. I liked it, but it wasn't one of my favorite superhero shows. I watched it again when I was 20 and that time I felt it was darker and more serious than I remembered. I loved it. Now I think it's an underrated show.
This show was way better than it had to be. Didn't expect much but when I finaly watched it a couple of years ago I was pretty blown away. So happy to see the Legion on Super Girl
I think AEMH is on par with the JL and JLU, OG TT and Batman and Superman TAS, as a series. I was really upset they changed it to AA, like how SU followed SS. 😆 Ya know what I mean? *Sorry for all the abbreviations, but I just couldn’t stop after the third series I abbreviated.
Comicbook King Definitely. Even though I liked Ultimate Spider-Man ok, it was a bummer when it replaced Spectacular Spidey. I think Spectacular was an excellent departure from the 90s Spider Man, which was taking stories and the art style from the comics. Spectacular had its own unique animation style, and was written so well that even lower tier villains from the comics got new life. It’s probably the best Spidey, episode for episode. It was still accurately the character, yet didn’t rely on how the comic books had defined every character. *I’d also put Batman Beyond in that top tier.
I've always wanted to check this show out, and it was good to hear something about it after so long, the people that watched it only have good things to say too, with the only bad been what you mentioned, the cliff hanger. Anyway, great review, just wish you went into a bit more detail, but thanks for not spoiling anything, and yet again someone else makes me want to watch it.
@@comicfannicolas3645 Not kidding; I partially, at least, blame the names. Saturn Girl. Lightning Lad. Cosmic Boy. They all sound like the generic, non-copyrighted cartoons/comics kids in actual cartoons watch.
