I have acquired knowledge!!!!😃 I know very little about racing in general, but this car is definitely an icon. It is a bummer for the diehards that they had to make so many compromises.

I'm glad to be of service, my friend! I guess it's still pretty cool that they made it at all. I remember when it was leaked, I thought, "ohh wow, really?!?!". I'm not much into F1, but I agree, this one is very special!

Great video! I agree there seems to be compromise, although it's an angular car, the building experience likely takes priority

Yes indeed, I think you are right my friend! I'm okay with compromises on smaller lego cars, but on the bigger ones I feel they could have found solutions

Finally someone mentioning the helmet; it needs two stripes, once again it's a Brazilian thing. Thanks for the review mate, got it a day before the release, kicked my friends out the door after dinner just to build it. You're spot on with the quote, period. It's a bit of a shame of the pink prints indeed, what can we say. The rear wheels are a bit of a shame too, I hope more F1 cars will be released with more correct wheels, so we can swap them. White pieces with red print totally would have been the perfect solution! I didn’t even think of that haha I was thinking dual-molded, but that would probably be cost-prohibitive.

That's an interesting idea too! I hadn't though about dual molded. That would really be the perfect solution as the colour wouldn't rub off over time. But yeah, it could get expensive very quickly. Thank you for your comment!

Yeah, the shaping of the white print towards the front is a licensing issue. The correct shape in that red/white color scheme believe it or not is owned by Marlboro and would've required a license to use the correct shaping. Obviously Lego wasn't going to get a license from a tobacco company so I can forgive them for that. The other tweaks/nitpicks are fair though, although I'm really not sure how Lego could've captured the perfect triangle shape on the sides of the front wing at this scale.

Ahh good to know, thank you for confirming that! I wasn't 100% sure. Yeah true enough for the front wing. They could have used the 6x3 wedge plate, but then the McLaren printing wouldn't work, so I'm okay with that. I think the worst offenders are the rounded nose and white on red printing (when red on white would have worked MUCH better). Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!!
