You can turn off opponent’s rubberbanding, and automatic transformations. That’s when this game actually feels fun and forces you to actually use all the mechanics of the game
The ability to turn off the rubber banding both makes me happy and makes me feel like "yeah but then the computer just sucks at the game." Rubber banding AI is a band-aid on a gash wound. Clearly your AI isn't good enough if it's not a threat without cheating. As for turning off auto-transformation that's very interesting as an idea, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy having another thing to manage. It's cool the option is there though if I want to challenge myself
Dude. That was one of my favorite N64 games that I owned back in the day. I had learned every inch of the game back in the days. Soo much fun and great memories
Don't forget to mention the egregious microtransactions. So far, I've seen only one reviewer pass remark on these, and given this game has a definite child focus, it'd be good to see more critics at least acknowledge the publisher's push on selling gamers additional content. I was really looking forward to 'LEGO Forza', but as I feared, it seems like an inconsistent, grindy product intended to squeeze pennies from the parents of younger audiences.
I've looked at the store several times. It doesn't seem as bad as 2K games usually get... But it does seem pretty bad. The only good news is everything (so far) doesn't require premium currency. I do hate that they give you exactly 10 too few to exchange all the premium away though, that's manipulative.
Games that are over hyped by the publisher by giving youtubers early with $100 editions and monetization are always red flags. It can't sell it's self.
I feel like they missed the opportunity to have a race creator, but honestly other then that I think this game is excellent. And I also don’t see why everyone is complaining about grinding the side quest to unlock the story missions I only grinder two or three of the side quest and have not had too do it since.
Funny I said the same thing. The ability to create custom races, with or without items, or sprint type races instead of lap races. Having that in the game would be fantastic
theres nothing saying they wont add it in later as this game is confirmed to have post launch updates either that or the modding community decides to cook up something idk
A lego game marketing towards a "younger" audiences wow I would of thought it was for adults. I've played cart racers that was meant for kids but extremely difficult for my 5 year old so this would work for that age bracket.
Would love to play it but the game is so abusive with their shop that it's insane, especially thinking that lots of kids might want to play it too.. a full priced gamne shouldnt be build around a microtransaction system. It's designed to frustrate you because you missing that ONE piece or cool design that the game lures you with from minute 1 while you cant even buy anything in the shop within the first couple of HOURS. Non stop advertisement for their bad gameshop that is build around getting you in there so obstrusive that it's almost crime. This is a freemium game that cost at least 60 bux, just disgusting. This game could be so damn good. Sad that the people up there ont beeing able to get enough... what a shame!
This being made by 2K is already a no go cause they always fill their games with micro transactions , I will also be one of the ones who buy it once it is on a deep deep sale lol
@@Gerlaffy speaking as someone that enjoyed the last hot wheels game, other people buying it means the devs will be less likely to abandon it and provide more content down the line. The hot wheels game never caught on and basically died.
For me im looking back when i first played Lego Stunt Racer, then Lego Racers, and my favorite.. Lego Racers 2! this just don't seems to be it. I was hoping to see this and feel nostalgia about it.. but i dont 😢 When he said that the AI isn't great competition i fell off.. The Competition in the old Lego Racers was fun and hard at some points.. Do y'all remember having the BIG MARS Robot chasing you till the finish line 😆
Nothing but an overpriced abomination with microtransactions AND a battle pass system. An absolute embarrassment especially something that you’d think would be aimed at kids/family.
STOP COMPARING EVERY RACING GAME TO FORZA HORIZON FFS! FH5 is in a terrible state atm, boring AF, uninvetive, repetetive, just bad. This is not it, this makes so many creative choices, that it leaves Forza in the dust.
@@justjohnny420 Horizon 4 and 5 are both not particularly good games. Since 3, it has unfortunately gone steeply downhill. I never expected to say something like that, because 4 got very boring after a while. But if I had to choose between 4 and 5, I'd take 4 any day.
@@benn87 Personally 4 was the first FH game I've ever played then played 5 when it came out and 4 just felt like the better video game but I can't speak for the older ones. But I feel like this game should be compared to kart racers or even something like burnout paradise before a forza horizon game
No Rocket Racer character and vehicle, 0/10. Seriously though, is there some sort of online vehicle project sharing, similar to Forza Horizon Project sharing? It would be great to see all the crazy stuff people create. Imagine driving a Lego version of the Red Eagle (Carmageddon franchise)
I gave it two stars because of the rubber band effect. I hope they fix it soon, but until then, I'm stinking to The Crew 2, & Car Mechanic Simulator 2021. At least they listened to the fans & fix the major bugs.
as of right now pretty much all of the reviews on steam are saying it is a good game but way overpriced and i agree. i want to play this game but i just cant afford it

@@Mega_Monkey I agree $70 is steep, especially considering the game has microtransactions right out of the gate :S I wager it'll be on sale in a few months for $30-40 during the summer sales. It seems like a good candidate for GamePass or PS+ also. I hope you enjoy it whenever you get a copy!
@@saintallison for me its £50 as im in the UK. i was thinking it would be the same price as something like lego worlds, especially because of all the microtransactions. they could still make enough money selling it for £25. yes i do plan to wait for steam summer sale and hopefully buy it then. thank you for the info.
So far from what I've played of the online mode, it's quite fun against other players, but seems to be extremely lacking in rewards though. Most side activities in the story offer $20 to $100 for completion and playing online only netted me with $2 for second place... That was for C class racing, not sure if it's better in A, because I couldn't find a match. Hoping they'll fix this.
I mean yeah the customisation is great but doesn't really matter if the gameplay isnt gonna keep me playing then I'm not gonna be around to use the customizations
For once I disagree with this review! It’s one of the best games I’ve played this year,and yes better than TOTK,and that might upset a lot of people,but I don’t care.(9/10 one point off for micro transactions)
was going to buy the $179aud version but after digging around and spending few hours looking at videos about it and bought jedi survivor instead. the 6hrs of story and repeated mission structure put me off this one
As someone that grew up with Lego Racers, i was really excited about this. Unfortunately it looks a bit disappointing and doesn't cater to an older audience, both in terms of dialogue and skill.
oh man the Nintendo Switch version graphically looks like dogshit. its unfortunate to hear that the ACTUAL real version of the game isn't that much better either... pfft, thank god i knew 2k are going to just make this into a cash grab for those of us who are fond of the Lego Racing games from the 90s...
If it’s great for my grandkids. It’s good for me. Why are adults judging this game as I’m if it was made for adults. That’s like kids rating Grand Theft Auto.
