LEGO 75371 Chewbacca's initial announcement was met with a mixed responce from the online community. Many LEGO Star Wars fans reacted negatively to a big, brick-built Chewie, in large part thanks to the model's face. So is LEGO Chewbacca really that bad?
Actually, it's worse, because the process of constructing this model is so tedious and complex that the whole building experience is an exercise in pulling teeth. Which is ironic, given that LEGO Chewie's teeth are part of what makes him so difficult to look at.

I think this would have to be on a heavy sale for me to consider getting this set. Yet as we've seen with other lego sets released recently that have been deemed failures like Table Football, Hulkbuster, Black Panther bust, that is quite likely to happen, plus an early retirement. Time will tell.

The color matching is often an issue with some instructions. The giant Star Destroyer with gray on gray, and seemingly random constructed shapes was a puzzle.

5 Nights at Chewie's Dark brown is a nightmare in instructions, at least with black they put a white line around the pieces so I can tell what I'm looking at.

Haven't built this yet but got it from a guy on reddit for $120 new in box. I already use heavy light and a head mounted light to see the parts and brown on brown is going to be a nightmare. But glad people are crapping on it that I got it for such a good deal already!

Consistently, every review I've seen of this set says how hard the build is because the difficulty in reading the instructions

If Lego were going for a Return of the Jedi approach, then why didn't they make Chewy (with the boyband hair), Jabba and or the Rangor in the same style of the Star Wars masks? You could have had so much detail to the faces. Lego could have released them throughout the year to celebrate the films' 40th anniversary.
