The new airport building is finally done. I had a lot of fun designing and building this MOC. The roof is obviously the main feature, but this does feature a full interior that includes an indoor train station.
Now that's a cool airport! I like how you did the roof with the train tracks. Love the flags, the Airline logo on the floor, McDonald's, vending/claw machines, and the Airport Shuttle station. Nice touch with the fountain too. Move the Lunar Lander to the other spot!
Can you make the figsdale space museum with the space stuff you have and make it huge to display rockets on the outside and inside same with a big rocket ship inside
Nice airport, probably the best MOC building you've ever built. I like how the roof when removed looks like the front of a curved skyscraper building while standing on it's side :)
Zulfburht - True, but you could easily work around that. I would have the ground floor square, with the wave starting and sticking out from the first floor upwards. As far as the levels are concerned this could either create a void down to the lobby or could be as tight as possible with tile pieces to cover the void as best as possible.
As a further thought on this... The building could actually be more triangle in shape, creating a plaza in front. Perhaps the building could be the head office for the airline company tying the design back to the airport.
Great moc. I really like how you have an airport. It is something that is rare due to space. The airport shuttle works well with your integration. The interior reminds me of a modular.
As former security supervisor at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, I am very delighted to see your Airport. There's so much detail in it, it's perfect. The McDonalds nailed it. No airport without McDonalds! If you want to add something, add some light and a search cabin for those passengers who don't like to be searched in public and a place to sit for older minifigs. Those minifigs aren't really flexible, so imagine if they grow old. ;-) Still a job well done! I love your channel and your MOC's. Please keep those up.
Really like the airport. As this is a large build you could possibly make it so there is a way up to the get for departures and a separate way down for arrivals? I would try to install escalators, and would have a doorway into the main airport entrance for arrivals (rather than just a hall on the other side of security.
I love your airport. I have two small airports, the old Legoland International Jetport and a newer one with the big plane. Once I get a bigger space to build my town, I want to create a nice big airport terminal with at least 4 gates. I just enjoyed the details you had in there. The only thing I would change is to add more windows to the side. That was a great idea with the roof, I love it.
Very nice Alex! I wouldn't even know where to start tackling project like this one. Add some greenery to the yard. Coming from a city that is fairly well treed having some trees/flowers etc in the vacant section would be a nice feature.
Very cool airport. Didn't really get how massive it was until you took the roof off and placed it beside the building. Love all the details you have put in to it. Takes al ot of time to add inside details, but it do look so much better in the end.
You probably have my favorite city layout on all of RU-vid, out of all the people I’ve watched you have the one I like and relate to the most( although I have nowhere near what you have )
Really fantastic shuttle station/airport Alex, that curved rood is very very nice you have made it your own❤️👍💕I loved all the interiors even the Golden Arches restaurant😁🤣and the moving conveyor belts is brilliant ❤️💕👍
I work at an airport for ramp service and I must say, even though it is simple, the area where bags are dropped to go out to the planes and where they are taken to be dropped off in the terminal for arriving passengers is very well done. Of course, it would also be very difficult to construct all of the winding belts that hang on the ceiling that eventually drop bags onto the carousel for us to load baggage carts. Something you could add in the bagroom to fill up the space is a computer station or two with some lockers. The people who work in our bagroom have a computer to check how many bags haven't been scanned onto a flight or what time they have been checked by the ticket counter to know if they will even make it on to the flight. Overall very well done on the whole thing. :)
Looks great, and fantastic that you made a full interior too. My city is tiny, so no room for an airport (there aren't even many roads!) but it's nice to see what can ge achieved when building to a larger scale. 👍
It always astonishes me to see so many of the same piece in a build like that. Just this morning I was going through some parts to sort them, and I found 2 of those 1x2x5 trans. light blue parts, and was excited, 'cause I didn't have any of those. And here you've got about 80'000 of them. :P Also, I have exactly the same minifigure as my Chief of Police. :D
This is a fantastic build I love all the tiny details you put in to the airport. It’s truly amazing. I don’t know how you got the pieces to build it. Keep it up👍
This is absolutely amazing!! One constructive comment - I would change the white panels that are located on the front wall (from the main viewing angle) with windows. The interior is amazing, but you can't see a lot of the interior unless you open the roof. If you replace all or some of the white panels with windows / clear panels, you will be able to see some of the interior once you come into your Lego Room.
Very cool. Love how the shuttle goes through it. Great roof. You did such a good job of the interior it would be cool to show a glimpse. Maybe angle off the corner with the entrance with all window.
Excellent build. If I was doing it, I would replace the white 1x5x5 wall pieces with the translucent blue color. It would really make the side of the building pop, and add additional light and views inside the building.
Wonderful! The only changes I would make would be making those side windows taller and adding some wall art. Daytona's airport has several car displays
Hey Alex! You know what would be cool? Taking picture/video of the inside of the airport without taking anything apart! That way we could feel your creation from the perspective of a lego man!! :) Could try that with a camera and setting a timer on it! Keep it going man, your are an artist
I find the use of 9v track for the roof amusing considering the value over the plastic alternative, great work on the building! *checked BL and its only about 25% higher in value 😁
Alex. I have one word for your airport: MASTERFUL. Amazing roof, layout and interior. Move the Lunar Landing to the front please. It's crunched where it is but would be far more balanced up front in the open spaces. This is an incredible MOC. What is it about 12 to 16 square feet, maybe? Fantastic.
I like it a lot! Would have liked it to have a little more colour than just white though. The roof is very neat. Maybe you and your kid could make a jumbojet moc sometime in the future? 🙂
Awesome airport! I would consider expanding one baseplate over to add a second gate and more waiting space, and it could have a different style as though it were added on later to accommodate a growing city. I'd also think about putting baggage claim behind security.
