That first note makes so much sense! The sun moves, constantly altering the light source! It's so counter-intuitive when you learn that natural lighting is the best in film and photography.

@FrameStudiosFilms You could dim the lights a bit to reduce the reflection, or try not to use too much of those colors. Black is also troublesome.

Cool. :) I remember in one of my videos, I needed a cinema scene, so I took out where the movie screen should've been and stood my DS there. It turned out great. :)

@NuggetBlubber It's possible. That's why it's important to have your camera on manual settings if you can.

@legofilmproductions hmm, couldn't tell you for sure, but certain colors of lego are more reflective than others, black is especially bad. The only other thing that I could think of is your light may be too harsh and it's causing reflections. Try dimming them with paper.

I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess, I think it would be okay. The only thing you would want to look out for is if the bulb produces a lot of heat.

I have printed off a piece of paper that is 2 inches by 4 inches and in a large font I typed the text 'FOCUS ON THIS TEXT' and I place this next to the minifig, laying it against the front edge nearest the camera. Large back text on a white paper is easy to focus on and you can clearly see when the text is nice and sharp. Good bright lights help focusing too they ensure a sharp clear image. I hope this helps.

Hey Fancy Pants, great video. Just a helpful tip, replace the paper with baking paper. It's designed to take extreme heat and is less likely to burn down your house than normal paper when placed near halogen lights. Just a question about camera settings. I use a Nikon D3200, and I recently had to do a night time scene. I put a black piece of paper behind the set, and that sort of made it look night time, but if I adjust the aperture, will that be good enough, or will I have to change the white balance? I want to do this on set because making night time settings in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects looks so fake.

@flooppy1 sounds like a problem with your white balance. If your camera has manual settings try messing with the white balance to make it less yellow.

@heroicham Well since it's a video camera, it doesn't have a flash. But if it did, I wouldn't use it. Seems to me that would cause huge flicker issues.

Another good way to get lighting iside the house is make a wall that's not viewable by the watchers and shine a flashlight through at the ngle you think is best. Now, this also may limit how of the house you can view or it may be difficult if it's a labyrrinth type thing, but hey, you can try it if you're overly obsessed with not getting your legos burnt.

if you don't want to burn your legos (cause that would be bad), use fluorescent light bulbs. they don't get as hot as normal ones. oh, and they're environmentally friendly for some reason. so you have that going for you, too.

What do you mean by picture? Do you pause and unpause the camera? Or do you take picture with your camera and put them together? If You do take pictures with your camera, how do you put your pictures together and make it look like the Lego is moving???? Do you use some Cind uf Picture editor??? If you do, then which one? What kind? How do you get it???? PLEASE ANSWER ME! I'm dying to know!!!!!!!!!!
