Zaszz in Lego form is still absolutely terrifying. I can see why they didn’t release him into the console version. Definitely would’ve changed the rating

Zzasz was also in Lego Batman 2 ds surprised they even considered him with just how violent and creepy he is especially in the arkam games

I know you can play as Azrael and Black Mask by using custom parts in the standard Lego Batman once completing the game. But I believe there are two other characters as well

Yeah there were definitely differences. I played LEGO games on the DS, including Star Wars The Complete Saga. When I played it on a friend’s console, one of the entire missions was entirely different (there was a whole mission devoted to chasing Zam Wessel in the console versions, but in the DS version it was just a small part of the first mission)

Most likely yes, although not mentioned in the shorts (briefly showed for a split second) you can actually get a few of the characters parts via custom characters. These are Spoiler, Huntress, and Azrael. While it could just be an easter egg, it seems more likely to be cut content and that the DS had the original roster of characters intended for the main game. This just an assumption tho. Also this a ps2 era game, so asking for DLC during these times is funny as hell.

While Lego Batman 1 did get a 360 port, I don't think we saw Lego game DLC wayyyy until Lego Batman 2.

lego games for handhelds weren't the same games as their console counterparts due to hardware constraints. they usually gave more characters as compensation for this

Funny story: I grew up playing this game as a kid. As of today, I still have a copy of the DS and PS3 versions. In the DS version, I was unlocking Tropical Joker (the one from Killing Joke where he wears the purple hat) and I didn't use the stud multipliers to get him faster. If I recall correctly, he's the most expensive character in the game. It literally took me hours after hours to revisit levels to collect as much studs to unlock him 😂😂😂

Grew up with both versions and started playing them at the same time, we had a thing we went to before and after school where we waited for our parents to pick us up and they had a PS2 so that's how we played the console version, I got the DS version for my birthday, such a cool fucking game man. Firefly, 2 separate killer moths, Azrael, I would love it if we got another DC game in the style of the ds version even tho I doubt that'll ever happen.

sometimes i wonder whether console lego batman is unfinished because its roster is very small even smaller than the handheld counterpart and the extra toggle is broken there is a way to enable them in the game files but they lack animation and features

Azrael, Huntress, Black Mask, and Spoiler are included in the console version of LB1 after 100%’ing the game. None of these are unreleased characters. They are just LB1 NDS Exclusive Characters. The console was never meant to have these characters in the first place, seeing as the development of the game was rushed.

Theyre not unreleased the ds versions were made by another team they must have added them bc they wanted to not bc they didnt make the cut in the original version
