@@carman2899 if you look it up, yes it was huge, but batman was taller than it by a head. The front tire of the set is past the Minifigures shoulder. It's waaay too big, but still an awesome set.
It’s pretty much the smallest you can render the Tumbler without having to sacrifice detail or room for a second minifigure. I’m glad they made it this size. Loads of the best Tumbler Mocs made over the past ten years have been comparable in size. And besides, it’s a lot closer to the actual size than the original Tumbler set was.
This set feels like a labor of love. The attention to detail rivals the UCS Tumblers and it's sturdy like a proper Tumbler. Whoever designed this needs a raise.
I bought this set, and I haven’t bought a lego set in years. I rly like the set. It looks amazing and the size was perfect for my remaining shelf space.
Incredible set. I'm honestly pretty glad we got Scarecrow, and the bonus head for Batman is a very welcome addition. And that rear view of the tumbler with those nice tires is simply great I just wish that we had gotten a bit of leg printing for this Batman.
A brilliant set, I'm definitely picking this up on the weekend. I appreciate a genuine Cillian Murphy Scarecrow in Lego form, as well as the sheer amount of detail they were able to create with non-specialised pieces. In particular, I love the shape they created for the windscreen, and the angled wing pieces above (and slightly behind) the front wheels. Unrelated, but that scarecrow head would make a fantastic Leatherface mask.
Always refreshing to see a Jang review! I gotta say that It’s pretty disappointing seeing other reviewers building their sets with zero care making reviews based on a set built completely wrong just to get videos out quicker. Pretty sloppy if you ask me, especially when most of them are getting the sets for free from lego 🤦♂️
Was super happy to find the last one of this at my local Lego store. This set has some cool techniques used to get its shape, some I want to use elsewhere myself.
So glad I ordered this set on day 1. It completes my Batmobile trifecta: '66 TV Batmobile '89 Movie Exclusive Batmobile (minifig scale) ... and now the Tumbler!
This one looks just right to me and it gets the general shape of the vehicle in the movies. An essential set I would say. Just bought mine and I was lucky to get it with 30% off so soon!
I'm glad this was made and it looks great, definitely going to pick this up. I don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to get the big collectors edition ones or that tan version that came in the Bat vs Bane tumbler chase.
The nightmare Batman head was a pleasant surprise for me. I probably have 10's of the Batman Begins Batmans and it's nice to get that head to represent a unique variant.
I feel like the size it about right,it the movie it was a huge vehicle compared to the cop cars it smashed up and pushed. Lol but compared to a minifig I can understand the size difference. I can't wait to get this,I missed put on the first version of this one. So can't wait to get this set to add to my Batman collection! I just wish it didn't have the white headband for the cowl eyes. 😔
I also think that they did a great job for this new Batmobile Tumbler, it's just about the right size to me and it looks quite perfect, and the price is very reasonable (even though in Canada it may be sold 15$ more at least) , but I really like it as well. Cool review, Jang!
I believe there were so little of Batman sets this year because they were making a whole line for the upcoming movie and when it was pushed forward they weren’t quite ready. And of course they didn’t want to sell toys for something that essential as Batman before the movie is out (like it happened with WW84 and Black Widow). Still I’m glad they’ve come up with great vehicle sets from the movies\Tv. Don’t know if we would get 2005 tumbler otherwise.
Hi Jang, I honestly want to tell you that the reason I watch your videos is to support you, because I have already seen reviews of all the products. I think you should do something more to keep up to date like you did in the past. Sincerely, a long time fan.
I appreciate your support. However you have to understand the simple facts. This set was just released to the public 2 days before the review was filmed. I cannot review things before they're available to be purchased because unlike all of the reviewers who do, I am not sponsored by LEGO and don't get sets sent to me free by the company; I am a fully independent consumer like you.
I don’t think it’s too big. The size is about right. Remember that the Tumbler is actually a small tank. If it was the same size as those cars, then it would be too small.
I first thought this set was for babies XD , but it does look cool indeed, why they rated this +8?, it looks a tad complex and suitable for grown up audience, I've seen smaller/simpler sets rated +16 , *sighs* .. This is a good option if you don't want the big tumbler too . Thanks for review!
I love the look of this, I hope they continue the trend of a reasonably priced smaller sets alongside the larger UCS versions. And since it’s already back ordered online after a couple of days odds are good for more dark knight sets especially since it’s been almost 10 full years since the last film in the series came out. The batpod and bat with two face, joker and bane as figures would be fantastic to see at this price.
First a $30 classic batmobile, and now a $40 tumbler! Would love to see more accurate, but small and (relatively) inexpensive sets like this in the future (possibly a 1989 batmobile?)
The Tumbler was the first MOC I ever made coming out of my Dark Ages, I've been more keen for this than the new UCS one, There's something about a well designed minifig scale build that I appreciate a lot more than a UCS sized one
When I first saw this, it was the most excited I've been for a Lego set in a long time. I really wanted the one from 2008, but my parents weren't buying me much Lego at that time. I bought myself the set with the 'desert camo' one in 2013, but I was a little disappointed by the size and lack of accuracy. The UCS one was too expensive for me, and I wanted a minifigure-scale one anyway, but I'd lost hope that Lego would ever return to Nolan Batman stuff. With all that being the case, I was ecstatic to find this on the Lego website. I don't know why I didn't see any leaks of it in advance though.
I was quite excited for it when it was reveal, this review confirm my impression. Definitively gonna buy one of these. Now, if they could also make a TAS batmobile in that format, that would be fantastic.
Good murning, so glad you included a 2020+ speed champion comparison! I love this version of the tumbler, the only thing that could have made it perfect was a split function with a batpod coming out, like the The Dark Knight Rises, but it's still great as is.
I have all three in a display next to each other. It's maybe a *shade* big but not by too much. It is a lot wider than the other two but it's also shorter than the 1989 one. (My impression is the in-universe 1989 bar mobile is enormous, some think if anything the issue is that's a little too small). I think you'll be happy to have them side by side. (The lack of the matching plaque and turntable is a much bigger bummer than the size - I took mine off as I wanted the three to match.)
Oh sorry, I was talking about display with 40433, not 76119. I mis-assumed which set jackobitis meant. Hopefully it was clear from the reference to the display plaque.
I have all 3 displayed next to each other and they look good. Tumbler is probably just slightly bigger scale than the other two but not in a way that is distracting. Unfortunately it doesn't come with the little stand like the other two. I dont use those anyways though
Good critical review. I love this set. Compact, solid, fun to build, and it looks great. It's the perfect size. Big enough to be complex and interesting, and to get the needed details, but not so large that it is unwieldy or overly expensive.
Jang, how do you feel about them not including a plaque for it like the 60's Batman and the Keaton Batman small versions? I frankly am a bit disappointed because I would have liked to have all three next to each other.
Overall I think it's a good set. I wish the stud shooters weren't there but that was easy to remove. My only big complaint is how high the flaps are on the top. if they sat like one stud row lower it would look way better. Also wish the afterburner was bigger.
Perhaps the best Batman set released to date? Having been a fan of the Lego Batman line since it began in 2006 I can't think of a set in this price range from either the Batman or Super Heroes lines that I would rate over this.
I would say the lego batman movie sets are the best lego have done to date with batman related, really great builds with near perfect figures all at really good prices
@@Jara10121 The vehicles from the Lego Batman Movie line were really creative and an excellent showcase for the lego designers and for the lego building format itself. As far as adapting a design that already existed though, I dunno if any other Batman set is on this new Tumbler’s level. The Arkham asylum set from 2013 is probably overall the best imo but this is close
it's so interesting that they have sets from 4 different Batman continuities (West, Keaton, Bale, and Pattinson) and their own original stuff all existing simultaneously.
Amazing set except for those stickers being yellow, not gold. The render on the box is very dishonest. Someone had to know they were stretching the truth. I was shocked when I was building mine and how bad the match is.
I just built this over the weekend. I love it! I feel the scale is pretty good seeing as in the movie it is larger than the cars. At one point a police officer even refers to it as a tank. I'm really looking forward to the UCS version next month.
I just loved this set....the scale, the price...everything!!! I really liked the use of the new speed champions "chassi" on this....and the inside panel impressed me!!! For a minifig scale, this build makes much more sense than the previous set, in my humble opinion (and it's waaay cheaper too!!)...I just hope to find this set here in Brazil on a reasonable price (given the exchange rate between us dollars and brazilian reais)....
I think this set is awesome. I personally replaced a lot of the grey pieces with black pieces as it’s more accurate to the movie, but I understand wanting to break up that all-black color scheme. Definitely a fun build and something you can pretty easily play with without things falling off.
Now they just need to release the 89 Keaton Batmobile like this. I don't mind if they release dozens of kiddie sets featuring the property, but this proves that can easily release an adult, screen accurate sets alongside more kid friendly sets and everyone wins 👍🏻
Great review! I think it’s clever that the design on the nightmare Batman’s face allows the dots above the eyes to peek through the mask so that the cowl-less face looks right as well
A tad on the pricey side, esp. in my country, but an otherwise incredibly well designed set. It's amazing that they can now make the same complex shapes at this scale now, which probably wasn't possible the last time that Lego created their large scale Tumbler. It truly is a testament to their design crew.
I got the UCS Tumbler from 2014 & the darn thing kept breaking every time I touched or held it. Something tells me this set will be more satisfying to purchase.
I personally didn't understand the hype of this set initially. I thought it looked good, but I thought everyone was blowing it way out of proportion. However after purchasing it and building it I must say that this thing is great. High quality build, good figures, great display value, everything just works so well
