Hi Robin Hood bricks, I like everything about this MOC (my own creation)! I think putting the gate where you have put it is great because it adds a bit of mystery. The advertisement is brilliant and you have saved a lot of bricks by placing the building against a wall because on the inside, it looks like you have built it! Great video though!👌👏
Yes, it's important to use all this dead space as trains take up enough room already. What's more the TrainCam will be even more interesting and exciting with this in place!
Matt Yeah I think that will be a great idea because it will make the gym more accessible because steps are currently leading pass a train track which in the mini figure world might be a bit uncomfortable.
The logo and name is fantastic! What about adding some white towels and/or a small locker bin mounted from the wall. I was going to suggest a juice bar, but doesn't look like there's any room. I agree with one of your viewers - a walkway over the railroads would be super cool.
Glad you liked it. I need a few pieces for the mods on the last store so it'll be soon but not immediate. As for facades, I've not even started planning. Any ideas?!
@@RobinHoodBricks what about a museum facade? There were some pieces you could use from the same set as the sight seeing bus. Also maybe an old fire station like the winter village set from 2018.
@@bargainhuntbricks420 Both good ideas BUT the problem with this edge of the room is the depth is 4 studs. By the time you have a window there'd be no depth to see any exhibits, unless they were very thin and identifiable from their rear. Also doors are a no no because of the tracks. A fire station would be great but I don't know if it'd look like one with no engines or doors. It's quite tricky to design!
Those were off the top of my head and I was unsure of your design limitations. You could use the facade from the el Dorado showdown. Its narrow and a good design.
Love the roof with the letters, but i think the gate beneath the building is wasted..... It seams wierd that it opens into a railroad and it is a nice piece so i would place it somewere else were it would get some more atention, but nice work regardless :)
not sure if you guys cares but if you're bored like me atm you can stream pretty much all the latest series on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of days xD
Great video and wow this is amazing, I love the name it fits very well to your gym. The inside detailing is amazing love all the minifig scale builds inside, the tvs are a great inclusion, because a gym can’t be complete without tvs. I love 3D too. I think it’s a great inclusion in your city. Gave video a huge like and keep up the great work.
It's not the most visually pleasing building in the city , but for a hyper modern building , it certainly does it's job. I do think it 's position against a wall and over the railway like that is a good idea ! and i do love the 3D coffee chain sign alot ! good stuff Robin !
One thought, since the stairs would be quite breezy as the trains lumber past, why not instead of the bannister on the side use the clear panels that you used on the window to create a glassed in stair, for the safety and comfort of your patrons...
An interesting idea. I've written it down for potential future use but I do want to prioritise new builds over improving past ones, at the moment, as there's so much to do. Thanks for the idea though!
I think you should incorporate some blue into the gym to go with the logo, even if it’s just a little strip or something. Just so the logo matches better with the building. Nice build though!
You've managed to use an otherwise awkward spot to great effect here. The Planning Dept of Brick Nottingham has no qualms about signing off such a modern block so close to a historic site, but I think that means the city is bound to grow and thrive rather than stagnate 😉 It's great that you can see right inside the gym, hope the membership fees aren't too high! 😃 I'm sure I will enjoy whichever project you decide to tackle next. 👍
Yes that's right. I'm trying to utilise as much of the rail line space as possible for other buildings and scenes to cram in as much LEGO as possible. Also to make TrainCam more fun!
I like it Robin loving the sweat box myself after Christmas...lol I actually like that gate at the bottom as well,...like it is leading to a secret garden or something else very mysterious looking.❤️👍❤️👍
Oooh, I like that idea. But only if it doesn't leave gaps at the edges. Hmmm. I'm certain I won't have the white slope pieces to do that now but I could experiment with other colours as proof of concept. Nice suggestion, thanks!
Hi Robin, great video again. Well done with the @sweat text. The building actually quite reminiscent to my real-life gym, with the overhanging glass facade, overlooking the city 😀. To be honest (and this is my autism speeking) I would adjust the white support @21:30, maybe 2 times a 1x1 white plate and some smaller 2x1’s underneath it. From the camera angle you don’t see it, but in my mind, I cannot unsee it.. but then again, that’s my problem 😂😉. I really like your facade buidlings and the suggestion you create of a continuation of the city. Also, great mascot by the Coffee Chain 😉👍🏼
You will be very relieved to hear that the pillar is central in the LEGO Room itself. I, too, found it annoying off centre. I just didn't show this on camera. Phew!
Nice work! The sign on the top is clever. I wonder if the stilts should be 2x2 though. Might look more sturdier. In terms of next vid, I like it when the videos fill consecutive parts, so I would vote for either a facade between the gym and Major Oak Hill or filling the gap next to the refurbished cinema. Happy New Year!
Thanks, Danny. I'm not sure 2x2 would give enough train clearance, sadly. More bad news is that I have no facade planned for that spot yet so it'll be a while. Sorry!
if you dont mind the look (I actually like it better) knock off the train nose to help it make tight corners..i made it look like the middle car, and found it helps while still looking like propose it serves.
@@RobinHoodBricks it totally removes the bullet train effect ;( reminds me i got one pc an odd color to switch out on that train..doing it right now, thanks ;)
HiHo Robin Four thumbs down for this video... they must be insane 🤔 You nail your builds every time. They are very clever and totally terrific! This gym is no exception! Great job my friend. Top banana 👍👍
I really like it, but there’s one thing. In a gym there is always a lot of light and looks bright, i’m missing that. And maube some blue inside to match the letters on the roof. And, i’m sorry Robin, but thro away the old fashion trees, and customize a Robin style tree or bush.... but overall a very nice job.
It is a lot brighter in person. The lighting I used was mounted quite high so it cast a shadow inside. If I'd adjusted it better it would've been fine. In real life you can see all the scenes really well. Someone else said add some blue. I'll add a stripe to both end walls although I don't have much/any blue bricks or tiles left I don't think. So you hate old LEGO trees, eh? I think they look like trees trimmed to a nice ball like in a formal garden but I guess they are a bit dated. I remember them fondly from my youth. These bottom scenes may all change in time as more neighbouring buildings are added. Thanks for the detailed feedback!
Roughly a third of my videos are Brick Hauls. These detail the bricks I get and where from. I try not to miss any part of the process out so you can enjoy the full journey. As for the full tour of Brick Nottingham, I do one of these every 50 videos so you can either look for the 100th video (about 14 back) or wait for about 36 more releases (12 weeks)!
Btw how do you make those awesome detailed rail tracks for your city and do you have a method to get only straight roads I personally think lego must release a new kind of pack for the roadplates like 1 one straight and a curved road in a set, 2 one crossroad and one with the t-plate
In the gym I go to there's mirrors too and people using thier phones and not training BTW let's have another train disaster we need more deathvand carnage.
How close are you to having the bricks for the beach as I think that would be a good place to move around to. Plus you forgot your customary “do remember to like, comment and subscribe” ending. 🤣🤣
Haha, no I didn't. It just wasn't right at the very end. 33:02 to be exact. I think you might be right with a turn towards the beach. Can you tell I've been putting it off? There's a lot of support work to do before we'll see any sand though!
@@smilinduck While we're on the subject do you find the fact I am so predictable a good, familiar point or boring as hell? I can't make up my mind if this is my brand or if I should mix it up a bit!
Robin Hood Bricks no I like it. Whenever me and my gf watch your videos together it’s nice to know how you sign off your videos. Everyone needs a tag/routine. Your videos are always really fun to watch to see your ideas come to life. You can tell a lot of your builds have had several hours of planning to get the bricks all working seamlessly together. I’ve spent about 50+ days planning my own large MOC (the bricks of which I’ve been collecting over the last couple of weeks.) so I can appreciate little bits like your @ built out of tiles.
@@smilinduck Yes, a LOT of planning occurs behind the scenes. Thanks for the very useful feedback. I'll stick with what's familiar. I have to do enough retakes as it is!
I know it might look ugly, but I think that you should put some graffiti around your CBD ( this is a CBD not the entire city because it has no housing in it) because I think it might look more ‘city’. If you don’t want to do it then it’s fine by me.
So... the "Hot Tea technique" doesn't involve dunking it in like a biscuit? I've made a huge mistake. (I'm kidding. I'm a new subscriber that's so far only heard you referencing it, and haven't actually witnessed it yet). The @Sweat gym turned out great. Beats me as to what you'll do next though. Maybe a convenience store, food vendor or vending machines by the subway?
Between the TV place and the subway seems like a high traffic area where a portable food truck thing would like to set up. You might've already come up with that possibility though.
Hahaha. Very funny. No don't dunk it. Welcome to the channel. Next I have a whole list of stuff, all over the place. The full Patented Hot Tea Technique is in a number of videos but Brick Haul 24 at 18:22 is a good one!
I’m not sure if this has been amended or even brought up thus far. Now I saw U put the railing on the stairs for safety (good idea by the way), but the poor kick boxer is really going to have to keep up her foot work 2 keep from falling backwards down the stairs due to the complete lack of railing around the top of the stairs. That could lead to a very severe injury to her and worse still an expensive liability suit against the owner/operators of @ sweat. I would think the contractors would have noticed that oversight in the original blue prints and brought it up with the board of directors in the city planning department of brick Nottingham. It’s a very obvious oversight that could lead 2 a lot of physical and financial distress the city does not need on their record. The LEGO news would have a field day with that media fiasco. Or perhaps it’s not really that important due to the fact that we are talking about a bunch of plastic in a fictionalized reality inside the minds of us LEGO fans. It’s your call of course. After all the hands of Robin Hood are the grand “creators” of this reality and decide what is and is not safe. I hope that little diatribe was entertaining to someone. Anyway, keep up the good work. (And don’t build a lawyers office in the city. It’s just gonna cause problems, lol)
Well there's the view from Major Oak Hill and Castle Rock, just to the right, also the whole area will be built up in time with more viewpoints. Even without this some businesses do it for aircraft and Brick Nottingham will have an airport in due course!
Thanks, Ned. I thought the flimsy supports were a good thing. Ultra modern, gravity-defying building. To be honest there isn't much spare space for anything more chunky. Maybe imagine this as the cantilevered end of a much larger building in the wall!
