@@RisingUnderdogfor like 3 frames he forgot to black out the corner of the screen with an unreleased Rocket Raccoon set. A little harsh punishment so I’m glad they let him back in
5:22 The water is for Sound Suppression, and it also protects the concrete at the base of the pad. Remember SpaceX Starship IFT-1, and what happened to the pad? When they added the Water Deluge System for IFT-2 there was almost no damage.
@@mariueg Why Elon did not go with the Flame Trench design with the water too like all his other rockets needed, Makes you wonder? After all he now is doing a flame trench for the 2nd tower as even he see's it works! The trench if set up well will in fact save them thousands in less water needed at each launch of star ship and make sure the base area is protected better. and starship is far better system than the waste of money SLS.
Greetings! I’m a space nerd, and here’s some fun facts about NASA’s SLS rocket! -the rocket’s side boosters are the same ones used on the space shuttle! Though they are taller and more powerful, they are being reused to make this already expensive rocket even cheaper. -the Orion crew module is the Orion itself! The part of the rocket you called “Orion” is the cryogenic propulsion stage! It is used to get the Orion to the moon!
Another fan fact the SLS is thrown away alone with those rocket engines just like in the 1960's rockets engine were? And the SLS and the Starliner are the most biggest waste of money going the rocket is not reused the capsule is so faulty it has stranded it human crew on the ISS and has so many problems they are fighting to un-dock it so it can return to earth empty and hopefully burn up since it is useless system anyway.
Unfortunately, u have to wait until may 18th to actually get the set .May 15 is just pre-order for Lego insiders. The set doesn't come out until that Saturday.
Nice review! I cant wait to get mine mid May, they did a great job depicting the entire launch system and rocket with this set. I will look really cool next to the Saturn V. Fantastic seeing you doing new set reviews in the new studio. Be safe and well!
Icons lineup should not use stickers. Its display models and the stickers are an eyesore. Everyone that already have the Saturn V would most likely buy this to display it side by side, but this one is the wrong scale as it is approx. 1:160 compared to Saturn V which is 1:110
The Saturn V is pretty tall (over 3 feet), this at the same scale would be even taller, which means a lot more pieces and an even higher price point. It's already more than twice what the Saturn V cost, and Lego probably thinks it wouldn't sell if it was too much more expensive. They could do just the rocket without the support tower, but I guess they wanted to differentiate from the Saturn V.
I look at this set and all I see is the potential launch tower for a Saturn V or a set of booster rockets and fuel tank for the space shuttle….sure both would require at least two copies of this set but still! 😂
Water Deluge during launches protects the concrete launch pad, look at what happened to a SpaceX launch with no water completely destroyed the pad. It also dampens the sound too.
I still remember going to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in 1989, and seeing the transporter that takes the launch vehicle to the pad. It travels at just 3mph, but the driver surprisingly still has to wear a seatbelt
should have been same dimensions as the Lego Saturn V. I get the WHY they didn't as the Saturn V as little playability as its so large, but now you can't display the SLS next to the Saturn V
just finished the build, it looks awesome. Have the Saturn V too, this time incl. tower is perfect. Details on the solid booster, I build the two at 1 time wich required some adjustment beacuase of the place of the prints/stickers that comes quite precise. 250 euro I paid in the Netherlands. I think it's wordt every eurocent and a great addition to my other Lego Nasa builds. Lego lunar rover comes next pre ordered it.
Great review of this space set. So glad you are able to get sets from Lego again. I did miss seeing you review sets and give your honest opinion of them. But I have to say that following your new studio journey has been awesome! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Wow that’s really sturdy. Even though you said as much, I kept expecting something to break when you put pressure on it, and then again when you tipped it up so we could see underneath.
If it was the same scale as the Saturn V (1:110) then I would buy it no question. However, it is roughly 1:144 scale, I’ll have to consider this or an Artemis MOC from rebrickable at a 1:110 scale.
Lovely modelé - but just the amount of stickers and quality of them not sticking well and how bad they look on the model is a bit turn off. I have the Saturn V model and love the quality of the printed bricks in that one.
Great review. I think this is going on my list! One thing I'd wish Lego would address is the terrible quality of their square bound assembly manual spines. The Titanic build manuals were horrendous. So heavily wrinkled along the spines. Looks like the problem still exists.
$260 with stickers - sigh. Why? Also, why aren't you reviewing the builds in your studio instead of the echoey basement? I thought that's why you have the studio! :)
I think he has the right to spend time with his family. You can criticize, but are you willing to do these videos? Kindly go drink some kool-aid and chill, please. 😊
6:18 I just wish they would’ve made it to the same scale as the Saturn V. I would’ve bought two, so I could have a launch pad for my Saturn V. I know they are not exactly the same but they are similar enough.
hmmmm.... surprised they went ahead with this when they chose to take a pass on the launch tower for the Saturn V. Then again, this tower is considerably smaller, so maybe that works in it's favor.
Excellent review. I'm getting this set. But I am going to apply the NASA stickers right next to each other so it looks proper even if they have to go over multiple pieces. It's not like I am going to disassemble it when it's sitting next to the Saturn V, Moon lander, the upcoming Moon buggy, the Perseverance rover and Discovery shuttle.
Am I the only person who can't help but notice one of the solar panels for the orion module is wonky on the box art? It drives me nuts everytime I see it 😭
Jordan how much was that Rocket 🚀 going for on the Lego Website or in store? You did a Good Job on the Video Jordan Bro 😊👍🏼👍🏼, Nics Job Jordan 😊👍🏼👍🏼. Your Friend: Balaban 😊👍🏼👍🏼.
I love it, can’t wait to add it to my other NASA sets. The decals are annoying imo. I’d rather they bumped the price a little bit and supplied the set with printed pieces, especially for key ones like the NASA logo etc :/
