As a huge Lego Galaxy Squad fan I immediately recognized that minifig as a bugoid, I'm so happy that the theme is finally getting acknowledged and the lore of it is getting expanded, sad its gonna cost a fortune to army buil it!
16:02 The Minifigure represents ORION, the constelation, that is the one depicted on the shield. You can see in the constelation a armour-like shape, the front hand holding a shield the other raising the club
14:31 The retro spaceman is actually also on a sticker in a city set. It's the space ride amusement truck, where a truck pulls a carnival ride that's alien themed, and the retro spaceman is the hero on the design of the roof of the truck
Not only am I excited for the new Bugoid, but considering my layout is bug themed, the ladybug wings will be PERFECT for me since I had planned for Rhino Beetles to be in my city and that piece alone will make my new customs feel complete! Super excited, will get multiples!
I am SO excited! Most excited about M:Tron, of course, but agreed that the Orion one looks amazing. Can't wait for all of these, especially the vintage style ones.
Nah bro I'm so stupid I thought may was next month.. Spent a crap ton of money on Vampire Knights on bricklink because I thought it wasn't gonna be available..😭
Hearing you call those "Classic Space" is just hilarious to someone who was a kid in the 70s when the original came out. I'm just now getting back into LEGO after decades of holding back. The new Galaxy Explorer pulled me back in though. Now I've gotten most of the current space sets, and I'm planning on getting all of this series, most of them in multiples.
If they make it anything like this, I'd rather have them wait until they have some good designers. This set is not a loveletter to space, or classic space. It is some weird acid trip come alive in minifig form. I do very much want a Castle cmf series. If they can design stuff like the Goatherder, Barbarian and Fright Knight, I would very much be into that.
The M-Tron figure's legs are dual moulded. As for the Blacktron figures legs, you could use the series 21 Space Police figure... not exactly the same, but would work
My favourites of this series are the purple alien cuz its from gaxley squad the ice planet a mutant blacktron which is space police 3 villains vibes and m-tron They look amazing and rest looks good aswell i say its a really good series
Shame, I was really hoping we'd get that rumored D&D themed Blind Bag collection with varying characters and races. I'd love to get the pieces to combine and make a Dragonborn Paladin!
There are recent photos of the d&d minifigs out there currently. This space series is releasing in May whereas the d&d minifigs will be out in September.
So these are really cool, and this is the first CMF I'm interested in because I don't like CMFs because I don't like the blind box/random booster practice. But you know what Would've been cooler than a Space CMF series? An Actual Lego Original Space theme that I could get these Minifigs in. And I mean a FULL ON Original, Unlicensed, NOT STAR WARS Space theme, not a "Sub-theme" that spans multiple themes. We need things like life on mars, galaxy squad, etc.
Really hoping for much more Classic Space stuff from LEGO. Not sure why they aren't doing more ship, basis and robots. I would buy them all as I grew up with them and they represent hope and exploration.
Honestly, I was planning to get this as one huge package (the ones stores usually order to sell individually), but now I think I'll wait until the QR codes are dropped, and the Bricksearch app will update to include the space CMF to get the M-Tron, Ice Planet and the Blacktron minifigures, perhaps multiples to make some custom figures. And maybe the robot nurse, too. Now that you mentioned it, it would've been amazing if the ice planet minifigure's helmet was dual molded and used the new reddish orange color as the visor. Would it be wild if lego decides to release the revamped blacktron 2 minifigure torso and leg piece but un-mutated, on the online pick-a-brick site? I doubt it'll happen, but it will be very wild! And the M-Tron minifigure FINALLY debuts the nexo knight helmet in Black. I just hope this minifigure will NOT be the ONLY way to get that helmet and the price will blow up on bricklink just like the galaxy squad space helmet in black, because it came from a blacktron 1 cyborg minifigure in a previous CMF series. Also, in my opinion, the astronaut minifigure is a wasted slot, because we've gotten an astronaut minifigure like, hundreds of times throughout lego's history. Oh and both the nurse bot and the orion minifigure is definitely going to blow up on the aftermarket due to orion's transparent glitter pieces and the nurse bot's pink space baby.
Just found this set at Meijer yesterday . I got 2 Ice Planet Women, The Blacktron Mutant and Orion . I organized by number on QR and used the Bricksearch App to scan all the different numbers . Looks like all these M-Tron guys were gone along with the Bug creature and I didn’t see any of the UFO costume guy . I really like the Ice Planet figure , hair mold and color look good . Face, and all prints look good but I’m not liking the helmet . I would’ve liked a more classic or inspired look along with adjustable , raising visor like the original. I would’ve like a regular penguin maybe along with the robotic one . Blacktron mutant and Orion are both great .
I wanna get the M-Tron one, the Blacktron one, and the Ice Planet 2002 one. Also we can all agree Chris is a total daddy and we'd still accept him if he turns out to be LGBT.
Idk if its just me or the lighting but if you look at the plates the figures are on, it looks like those are printed as well like a Galaxy or space print.
7:11 the lego space police guy from one of the last cmfs has legs that should match pretty well with this figure. Also, 8:12 no dual molded legs? Wtf lego the cmfs are supposed to be premium figures
This series is awesome! The alien avatar guy torso is great, though I wish it was black The ice planet guy is my favorite I want to get multiple of this series Too bad the series is in boxes
most of these are from UFO or life on Mars, with the exception being the nurse, she's from space and the astronaut is a call back to the older city space sets. he or she is most likely a reference to the space station sets, from the pre 1990s series, it ended back in 1987. one year after the year i was born in, no more Lego space, at least for the city sets, after that it was UFO and Life on Mars. that was a long summer of waiting, for those a little younger then me. it was around June, 3rd on a Saturday, in the afternoon, stores in the valley stopped carrying Lego space sets. because it was either the old west or Lego Disney princess. around eight thirty in the afternoon, that same weekend, i find that a random cousin sold my Lego sets. angered i gave up Lego and started making music, with an old amp and a really old electric guitar, i titled the song, " my mother hates me," it was because she gave my last complete Lego set to that cousin. i'm still not happy about it. also, the bugoid, is from UFO, it's the alien that ate the last plant in the lab.
The piloted man-bot looks like the foot printing is supposed to be chipped paint from scuffing the toes, revealing the robotic skin underneath. The Ice Planet fig is my favorite of the series. I'd love to get my hands on as many of those as possible. The M-Tron fig is a little disappointing. The Blacktron 2 guy is really vexing. Such a missed opportunity. I'd have preferred this mutant version as a follow-up fig to a proper, clean BT2 update. As it is, it's not really something I can justify wanting more than one of.
