Not only does the original look better, but it's also a print so there's no reason to change it. Like I could maybe understand if they made it a sticker or something. But they made it a print, and made it metallic too.
@@bricksblocksandmocs Some small changes I made on mine was making the front nose square(looked too curved for a Countach), making the black spade shaped door intakes(what is the actual name of that door area called?) look more realistic(i just used a small strip of scotch tape, made it sticky double-sided to put a white curved 1x2 piece upside-down), and then last I redesigned the rear wing to look more in depth like on the real Countach.
Nice review and I like all the brick built upgrades you've done! Yeah those mudguards must be quite helpful, and I would like to see you review your favorite new Speed Champions sometime.
Yeah, I prefer the rear window of the official set and the headlights. Everything else doesn't look that bad. But that rear window and headlights just look weird. The headlights give me bug eye vibes
For a Lego set, it looks fantastic in my opinion. But wow, you made it look brilliant, I love the brick built rear wind shield, that's my main problem with the base set.
I honestly don’t mind most of it except the headlights and the exhaust vents. The piece they had to literally make, an entirely new piece, just for this set to work, doesn’t work. It looks like a mess. The headlights are so specific, and to not get that right is kind of a crime. This is so so much better, and I’m convinced they could have found a solution similar to that and could have made a new part to make it even better. The exhaust is honestly just personal opinion, it’s not essential to have definition there, but I LOVE the look of them on the bigger one, that subtle way they stick out, ooooooh man
You know how to make a video... Don't like all the changes you made but definitely agree about the rear windscreen. It may be accurate-ish but it looks weird and doesn't match the rest of the car.
Hello! It is not the first time I'm watching your videos and tbh I was not a big fan of them (maybe video editing was too quick for me) But you are really so talented man and inspire me (and i think many other people) to do MOCs, so thank you for that. Also, video editing is now better for viewing p.s. sorry for any mistakes in the comment, English is not my mother tongue.
I wanna buy sum lego speed champions sets. So along with Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance & Mercedes-AMG Project One set I don't know wich one to pick: Aston Martin DB5 or Dom's Dodge Charger. Wich one would You recomend?
Much better things being brick built. Not sure if I’d do your MODs. I think the DB5 is just such a subtle car design and shape it’s just never gonna translate well to a Lego build, in either the 8 wide speed champions scale or the creator expert scale (I really didn’t like that set, especially when compared to the Ford Mustang which looks amazing!). Lego really is hit and miss with sets recently. I mean they knocked it out of the park with the Lamborghini Countach SC set, but the DB5 is a bit of a let down. I could almost forgive it if the minifigure was great…..but IMHO it isn’t. They went for Daniel Craig’s Bond instead of Sean Connery’s for some reason and even then the minifigure looks nothing like Daniel Craig. I mean the man has a very high, very subtle widow’s peak that is nothing like the hair piece they chose. And whilst he is blonde in Casino Royale, by the time of Skyfall he is very much grey. TBH I would much rather have seen a Sean Connery minifigure wearing a grey 3 piece suit, than Daniel Craig in a dinner jacket.
I absolutely agree! Would also much more have liked a Sean Connery minifig. But as most of the time with Lego, they tend to go with what’s the most relevant at the moment. Just think they have a lot of pressure from the brands they have a license with.
the car already has a great looking, why to do aesthetic modifications instead of functionals? like finding a way to incorporate the shield of the back, or the the guns in the front, or functional doors, something! a real upgrade. This looks good, but it's just different, not a real upgrade...
Hey man your upgrades and builds are amazing. I was wondering whether you could build the trabant 6 studs wide. The car means a lot to me and I havent seen a good moc of it yet. Anyway keep up the good work.
You have done a ton of great cars brother, but for this one particularly, I think you just made me like the LEGO designed model with the printed parts better! I apologize, I don't mean to offend, it's just that this one, yeah, I think I see why LEGO went the direction they did with SOME of the parts. Now, I will say that after watching you take this apart, and remembering back to when I built this, there is a ton of space you are given to modify their official build on the DB5. The way that the hood area entirely slides out, and nearly the same with the trunk area, really does give you a ton of room to really do with as you will, and watching you take this apart in those ways and start attempting your own ideals, allowed me to see that maybe LEGO did kinda cheese out in a few areas, but maybe not. The way you brick built the DB5's particular parts in the video, I felt were not that great. However, that doesn't mean that there isn't a better "Brick-Built" way to go about this, I just feel that your first attempt, just wasn't quite up to snuff. Ya dig?
I absolutely understand that! As I said in the video, could probably have done it better if I put in a bit more time into it. And of course also didn’t want to make it too complex. But if people like this type of video, I will absolutely put in a bit more time into the next speed champions upgrade.
I was looking for a something to collect and I decided to look into Lego cars. After falling down the RU-vid “rabbit hole” I stumbled across your channel. Amazing! I love the thought that goes into your designs. My first video I watched was the recent rx7 build. Once again, amazing! I’d also like to request a future build. A samba green Honda del sol.
How about, the Bentley 3 1/2 Litre, BMW Z3, 750iL Z8, Lotus Esprit (S1), Aston Martin V8 Vantage, DBS (first and second generations), DB10 and the V12 Vanquish, because thery’re already a Speed Champions DB5 so it will be a complete James Bond car in history.
Great Video Review. Hey has anyone ever told you You look like Dennis Leary the American comedian actor. You remind me of Dennis Leary Once again fantastic review.
i prefer lego official version, sometimes too much detail will instead lose the authenticity of the thing u want to recreate, such as the curve of the car moc, inconsistent and terribly looking
Lego? isn't it better to usw cars as models that have more sharp edges and shapes? No fan boys will buy it beside the fact it looks absolutely disgusting
