Very cool mod! You fixed everything that I found a bit lacking. Maybe you could use 1x1 trans orange plates at the headlights to indicate turn signals, but I’m not sure how it would look.
incredible front and really nice solution ! the back was nice on original and i ill just change spoiler. for the side windows i think about erase the print on the side and may be use sticker piece at the back
The front is stuning, everything fits so nicely! If I had one thing to change its the C pillar, maybe replacing one trans cheese slope with a black triangle tile with red background like the audi quattro did just to have the transition between window and pillar less vertical
Beautiful work on the front, much better than the original design. The wind screen replacement was a great touch as well. The only downside is that the red pieces for the front are somewhat hard to find. Do you have a parts list for the mods?
These headlights are soooo much better than the other headlight mods purely because this version doesn't make the 2x2 red printed wedge plates stick out an extra plate to each side. Because that solution looked super ugly. Great job!
While I love the original speed champions model, this one is absolutely amazing. These small improvements really makes for a far better endresult and for once, it doesn't seem like a ton of stability is sacrificed to make this work.
I can't help but wonder how the devs at Lego can't come up with these solutions. I mean, you can't make a model of such an iconic car, and not make it the best. Why leave gaps where headlights should be? Why make the sides of the rearwing a different form then the original? I mean, I LOVE Lego, but sometimes they just seem to not be dedicated to get the models right. Look at the Formula1 models, with the wrong size rear wheels, or the hood of the Lamborghini Sian. I'll stop complaining now.😊 Great work with this mod!
Jerry, I have to ask. The reason you switched to transparent black pieces on the back window, was it to match the transparent canopy piece? Just doesn't look right in transparent black. Why did you take the engine feature out?
Yes, I wanted to match the printed canopy…I actually like the back window on the original model but if you compare it to the real car i is a bit too long and shiftwd forward. I cared only about the exterior look but there are certainly better ways to make the engine visible. You can keep the original back and just change the headlights for sure. Trans clear parts would be much better but I don’t have the righ ones.
Out of interest, did you try the rear louvre window technique you used on your previous F40 MOC? I kinda like that solution a bit more than this and just wondered if that would work on this one?
Really solid mod For me personally I didn't really have any issues with the set apart from minifgs not fitting and the hole in the door, everything else felt really well done to me, the spoiler is forgivable and I don't really have an issue with the small windows nor the headlights even if it's a different approach, since it's still a really creative solution instead of just slapping a sticker on a slope and calling it a day. In the end these are still mostly toys, not full scale replicas. While I understand people being put off by some of the solutions and offering genuine criticism to the new Speed Champions lead, I think people who are a complaining about the realism of a lego model down to the tiniest stud should get a die cast or scale model instead.
This is fantastic! When will you have the PDF and XML files available? I'm not sure I have all the spare parts I need, so I'm looking to double check against your build list. Do you generally include a list of just the extra parts in addition to the set? Thanks for your work, happy to support!
I will say your rear wing mod is closest thing to the real car. I will also point something out that I don't think anyone has mentioned about this set. The sets car rear wing was modeled after the F50(wider wing), so the designer messed up. If you were able to do it, then the LEGO designer could have done it too!
@@liamgorman3947 incorrect! Do some research as they have different functions on a car. The main difference between a wing and a spoiler is the way they redirect airflow. A wing, also known as an automotive airfoil, deflects airflow upward to generate negative lift. Meanwhile, a spoiler acts as a barrier that disrupts localized airflow to reduce airspeed and lift.
