That’s the admiral rank instead of grand admiral. My guess is that he was originally supposed to just be an admiral in the show and get promoted later.

They were gonna have the promotion happen in the show but Timothy Zahn had already promoted him in his thrawn book.

something i noticed is that thrawns rank card is accurate to the rank of “admiral” which the lego box art refers to him as just “admiral thrawn” Not sure how that fits in with the suit color but it may not be as inaccurate as you might think

Only Grand Admirals wear white uniforms so that's still innacurate and he also was a GA in Rebels so making him an Admiral with a grey uniform would have been still innacurate to the show

It was rumoured at the time that the show had been considering introducing him as an Admiral (but still in white for the visuals) and then promoting him over the course of the show, and that it was a late change to have him in the iconic Grand Admiral rank. Either the funko or the action figure (or maybe both, I can’t quite recall) had the exact same issue when initially revealed, though they later corrected it.

We need a playscale Chimaera with Thrawn, Capt Enoch, Night Troopers, a Night Mother, Ezra, and crab dude. I’d be ok with a $200-$250 price tag if it’s in line with the last tantive iv on detail and quality

I actually bought this set just for the minifigures back in the day, resold the ship parts but kept the minifigures and accessories. Thrawn is the crowning glory of my minifig collection now 🥰

My Brother bought me this set back in 2018 when he returned from sea duty as a gift. He is totally unfamiliar with Lego and the Star Wars universe. Unfortunately, due to customs, I got set without a box. Great set, and figures.

I was able to pick up the set of during the Covid times when I had extra money. It’s an easy build and it’s very sturdy. My kids play with it all the time when they have Star Wars battles and I can handle them very swishable I bought a used so I did not get blind. Canaan Or3o on the guy gave me Ezra from another state, and he included the chopper.

Visually the 2023 looks better and I didn't realize how lacking of an interior this old one had. Sort of expected a Halo lifepod for interior much like in the show.

One of the cases of LEGO messing up exchange rates. This set cost $30 in the US but £40 in the UK (about $54 at the time). Even with the added sales tax which usually accounts for differences in price for most sets, that's still a ridiculous price. We have VAT of 20% so $30x1.2 = $36 = £27 would've been fair, maybe they could've gotten away with rounding it up to £30 but certainly not £40.

There sure was a weird thing going on with this set and the Resistance Transport Pod from The Last Jedi, where over in the USA, they had the price tag of $30 (around £24), but over in the UK, the asking price for them was at £40 (around $50), which was ridiculous and left me wondering if there was a mix up where it was supposed to be $40 in the USA and £30 in the UK? Well, because of the asking price for it, I never got it, which I was kinda bummed out by.
