I was told the issues I presented have been solved for future models being sold for what that’s worth! This things pretty epic looking regardless though! Thanks again to Timmy for the free copy.
@@BARDOWNSKIS its more expensive than lego would charge for a set and its full of design flaws and quality issues. were still paying an insane premium and receiving a worse quality product. it needs to be better for such a demanding price. in its current state i would value what was delivered a 250$ i’m not saying 300 is what they should charge i’m saying that price represents the poor quality that was delivered. dont need price reduction, just need improvement for the price.
You nailed it with the underpromising thing. Almost every single one of these reviews has an issue like the parts not being new, and there is ALWAYS some sort of excuse in the comments. Like the sets are great, I love them. But dude needs to stop making claims like 99% of the parts are new.
I bloody agree with you on that. It’s funny how RB tries so hard to justify his pathetic price on his sets by saying, “ Fees, designer labor, sales tax, import tax, etc…” Like who gives a fuck about that.
@@JIMvc2 bro second hand parts are expensive af, that price is justified… I wouldn’t get it bc I don’t have the want or money for it but he couldn’t sell it for less than $500
@@TheGW923 ok but how about the instructions, and how he has to make a profit, pay the designer. Like as a business he has to charge that amount to stay in business. Plus it’s still really expensive to get the parts bc he can buy in bulk rather than just getting pne
I do think it’s bad of them to not put more care into the instructions, and not to build the model to test it. I design MOCs, and spend hours making the instructions so they’re clear to follow. And whilst I don’t have the parts to build an entire MOC, I do build each section individually to make sure it actually functions. Paying especially close attention anywhere where something needs to move. Some of the flaws in this model are inexcusable.
Can I ask why you don’t fully build out the moc? Like I understand you might not have all the parts but if you plan to sell them you’ll need the parts eventually so why not just get them to test it.
It’s sad really how can they not build it to test it! That’s why I’ll never get a republicbricks custom. Imagine the headache for other’s who bought this✌🏻
I had an mtt when I was like 9 and my friends brother said he was gonna improve it. Little did I know he would rip out the inside and break the sides off
There is so much issues with this set, they didn't built it once and they sell it for 500$ without checking if there is issues, just like that? Oh my god, they really need to improve on that...
I can understand the price point, but Timmy's got to make it perfect. Sure he said that the issues have been resolved, but he also said that the parts were 99% complete, and they weren't. If he was going to screw up so bad on a set that was being reviewed in front of thousands of people, how am I going to trust he'll make it perfect for me?
he wont, most sets he sends out are missing pieces and the price point is 3-4x the value of the parts cost. 75% of the price is profit for him, MOC's do not cost this much to make.
In my experience, most new lego brick will look scratched right out of the bag if you look closely. They’ve been dropped into bins, moved around, taken out, put in bags, stuffed in boxes which have then been stacked and shipped by trucks before being put on shelves and finally brought home by you. Pretty much any time they are moved they will grind against each other and form micro abrasions. Of course with a real set you have the option of requesting a replacement part if you think the piece is damaged beyond what’s reasonable.
Ive seen some scratched but its very very rare, especially to a level like shown in this video, its clearly been used for years. Also, theres like 4 different shades of blue ans 3 shades of grey it looks really bad and disappointing
@@Fives179 i think it honestly depends, if you get bulk pieces or pick a brick per say generally a fair few will be pretty scuffed because they usually sit in a container or bucket until they run out, whereas set pieces are all new, idk how the lego team does it but they somehow keep set bricks in perfect condition but not seperate pieces
I will add my personal thoughts on this set, as of me writing this comment RepublicBricks put this set on sale for $400, but honestly it's still not worth it given the flaws you have mentioned in the video. If you had to fix so much of this set, it definitely is a deal-breaker seeing how some functions are really unstable. If I were to spend $300+ on a set, I expect a really pleasant experience building it, along with a stable set. I personally was really debating on getting this, but in the end I just don't see the justification in paying that much for such a flawed design. It really does look nice though, and I agree it is definitely a set for display purposes only. I'd probably wait it out and buy it if they decide to fix the issues.
This custom model looks incredible! But how did the designer oversee the extremely obvious flaws?? I wouldn't doubt the designer put a lot of thought into this model, but the problems with the back door and long arm that comes out... Sure you could easily modify this set to fix these issues, but come. Still a beautiful looking model.
I don't think that price is bad for all new parts. I do think it's pretty high for used parts. I think he has an awesome idea for a business. He just really needs to step up on quality control.
@@trenthieber726 If Ryan wasn’t friends, he would’ve absolutely blasted the set for lying about the parts, an absolute ripoff of a price tag, and crappy instructions to boot.
I'm sure you've considered this but it would be cool to have a timelapse of the build process while you take your time to explain things like the piece conditions and the price points! Great video!
this is a really bad review you dismiss so many real flaws for it “being a custom” when you throw a hissy fit over the ATT tank cannon being to long and call it the worst set ever and not worth the price. you should also get onto this set for being expensive, unstable, missing parts, and using dirty parts. the amount of flaws excused is shameful. dont give timmy a pass because hes your friend or giving you stuff for free.
I agree this review has kinda made me lose some respect for MnR this set and company feel like a complete scam and he's over here basically promoting them and giving them a pass on everything, plus I feel like he cares way to much about accuracy over play
I have never brought from Republic Bricks and prefer to build my own customs, but you can’t knock his hustle. Republic Bricks fill a gap in the market that Lego are not business savvy enough to explore or understand. More power to him 🙌🏼
To help make pieces look new separate them from others and use a small butane torch on a low setting and do a quick pass or 2 with it and it will make them look close to knew and get rid of any discoloration.
@@craftergaming392 no he is not, he just has a few problems with his products that can be fixed, scammers literally give you nothing and just steal your money from you
Literally just subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work brodie. All these old sets bringing back nostalgia from my childhood😭😭. Also started working at the new legoland that opened up in New York!!
The door might not have caught as easy if you didn't have to add that row so the teeth could catch. They do a great job with these designs for the most part but you'd think they'd build them at least once to see what all works and doesn't work and to make sure the instructions work out and aren't confusing.
I look at these as a starting point for models someone might want but doesnt have the time or ability to do it themselves. U can always mod it and make it work. Im just not the type to buy someone else's design. But if i did, i wouldn't mind this
Think about it the discolored parts could represented as marks it got in battle. Also if you ever make a clone wars of you got to use some of Timmy’s stuff
If you shove the bars on the guns in a bit more so the top bar connects with the technic pin, you should eleviate the issues with them falling off. Pew pew pew!
Really really like this set. If lego really made it I'd definitely buy it. Wish they did more professionally and accurately done star wars sets. (I know that ucs and mbs sets exist but they're mostly super expensive and more specific and popular based star wars things like the death star or the falcon)
Just out of curiosity, you might've said this in one of your other videos but which Star Wars movie is your favorite. Not show but movie. Also dope video man!!😎
I really wouldn't pay 500 for that... The new Lego AT AT Is only 800 and it has an unbelievable amount of action. However it may not necessarily be a "play" set, but It has significant more stability.
Bruh Lego is just giving us nothing for like a year and then they Release very good sets so we buy more of them cuz we think for Lego standards they r good…and then they gonna do more crap waves and so on thats their marketing strategy…so you probabky have to Wait a few more years
@@samparker3515 nah man, Lego was never gonna do the Super Tank build themselves, it's "too obscure" for them. I meant when are we going to get a Custom build, that model from Lego Star Wars 3 is looking pretty fantastic.
Ok so these are pretty cool however these are way to expensive for the quality control or lack there of when I’m paying $500 for a lego model I don’t want to have to fix things or have used pieces the only reason I would get any of these is if they A decrease the price or B get better quality control
Wish they would just sell the parts list/ instructions, I would order the parts myself, way to expensive to receive bad parts. Hope they will eventually sell parts list and instructions 👎
A lot of the parts in that bad pile didnt look like they needed to be in there not saying that it’s acceptable to have as many as there were just saying that could’ve been a lot smaller
