Lego RU-vidrs who MrBeastify their content is super stale, unoriginal and not creative (which kinda goes against the nature of building Lego). Especially with the quick cuts, overuse of memes or sound effects, destroying builds, or like building something (that’s usually not that detailed) under a certain amount of hours. Like I’m not gonna lie there are so many TD Bricks clones it’s insane. I think moc builders such as hachiroku24, that actually put effort into their builds as well as good design deserve more attention as they are the true “Lego RU-vidrs”. Idk I just think a lot of creators are really lazy and just copy and paste what’s trending and put no effort or originality into their content. Hopefully you guys understand where I’m getting at…
100% agree. Also the big bright text that is kinda subtitles but also not is super annoying as a HoH person, I have to keep clicking CC on and off bc the big bright words are selectively chosen.
Lego really just needs to capture the best aspects of both 2019 and 2014 helmets and make a new mold. This video was more entertaining than I thought it would be, so you should definitely make this into a series as it will make a great addition to your channel
I think that the whole lego reselling thing is inherently kind of scummy but it also makes sense to do. I've become a huge Gundam/Gunpla fan over the last couple years and one thing I love about that hobby is that a lot of the regular retail models get reprinted, so you can just go online and get a kit from 2003 and from 2023 at the same time both for their regular prices
I would only agree it was scummy if resellers were taking advantage of artificial scarcity. The kind of thing you see in other collector markets where they buy up all the available stock and jack up the price. Basically, what happened with the PS5. But that doesn't happen with Lego. I have never been unable to find a set on release day if I wanted it. And Lego restocks at a very rapid pace. Any set available on shelves can be purchased at retail prices. But that's not what Lego resellers are doing. They are just buying sets and storing them until Lego retires them. Every set Lego makes eventually gets retired. Most last about 2 years, some more, some less. But on average it is about 2 years. If for whatever reason you don't buy it in that 2-year period, then you can't buy it anymore. And that is what the aftermarket is for. You can still buy the set if you really want it, at a higher price. But that is the cost of not buying it during the release window. You have options though. You could just not buy retired sets. Or you could buy them used instead of new, they will be closer to retail prices that way. Or you could buy the parts individually, this could be cheaper depending on the parts. But I don't think holding onto sealed sets is particularly scummy. No one is forcing you to buy old sets. Lego has plenty of shiny new sets and parts available all the time.
4:47 man this is exactly why I love your content so much, you’re doing different things, or sometimes doing the same things in different ways. You’re not all clickbait and trends, and I respect and enjoy that a lot!
Hot take: I think that the 2013 lego droideka doesn't look as bad as everyone says it looks. In my opinion, there is nothing that wrong with it. It looks the part, can roll like a ball just fine, and overall is just a decent representation. I think that most people like Mandrproductions hate this design because of nostalgia. They grew up with the older, more junky looking droidekas, and therefore for some reason think this one is more I guess skimpy looking and maybe doesnt have enough pieces as the old one. now if we talk about the sinper droideka though, thats a whole other story . . . . .
Hot Take: Galactic Civil War sets are way better than Clone Wars sets. I would gladly buy rebel and stormtrooper battlepacks in bulk, but I would never buy several clone wars sets.
Mandrproductions is entitled. He simply thinks he can persuade lego because of the 501st battlepack.(But I do still think some of his points are good.)
@subtoadp the problem with playing a persona, especially when it’s a bratty entitled one, is his audience is kids and very dumb teens who don’t understand that. They’ll take him as 100% genuine and run with everything he says
The whole clone army thing I can't understand the appeal and it makes the whole allure of clone building superficial and hyper capitalized where the goal and ultimate appeal is to consume as much as possible instead of appreciated a fair amount you can have. Literally all the videos are telling is "look I had 200-1000$" or whatever they spent. There's no "skill" or "tips" like the videos try to tell and its impossible to make them unique since all the videos are is "I have money" and set up the clones and sets on a base plate. That's all it is, is look I have money to spend on this amount of clone troopers or battle packs.
That’s what it’s gotten to now but back in the early days clone armies were definitely a staple for the community and I don’t think it’d be near as big as it is today without them
@@fivelonelyclonesI see what you’re saying, but in the same breath a clone army video is nothing more than “look how much money I have”. I mean I guess the same could be said about any collection video, but I guess it comes down to how the video is presented by the creator
The Lego UCS X-Wing remake was needed but this year was not the year for it, if the X-Wing tried to imitate the classic box from 2000, why not do a UCS tie interceptor as it better suits this year’s Star Wars sub theme and it released alongside the OG UCS X-Wing
I believe that Lego Star Wars should just go back to being a toy. Most sets have become super pricey and I feel like they have us young adults in a choke hold because of nostalgia. I’m not judging people for spending money on what they want, cmon I still buy lego too, but I just feel like we demand a lot for whats essentially a toy. I do expect more for UCS and “Adult” sets, but I just feel like the community has become very toxic and mostly look at the sets now as investments. Cool channel by the way!
2:13 no, they just need to make a new mold for the visor shield thing, and lower the hole. The only reason it’s that high is so the current visor shield can go over the visor.
A note about hot take 7: when the commentor was talking about keeping Lego stuff in your basement he meant people just keeping the boxes in their basement so they can sell them off later on once the set has retired. Tbh i agree with the commentor, this is not enjoying lego.
Hot take 5; yeah I agree, but there is one RU-vidr who is trying to beat the Lego World Record of having the most storm troopers, but he's trying to do it with clones, he already has 3000 clone troopers
The new bo katan minifigure from the spider tank is probably the best minifigure ever having a very good torso and legs and Aldo having two beutiful printed arms and a new helmet. And the minifigure has a new head and a new hair created only for her. So for me the new bo katan is the best and most accurate minifigure ever.
Hot Take: LifeBricks and MandR are overrated Lego RU-vidrs they are so annoying all they do is talk crap to the Lego community and complain about the Helmet holes.
I understand where your coming from but I disagree... I think it's important that people like them or in general "criticise" or review Lego's products because at the end of the day we all just want the best for Lego as a company in creating good products since we all love the hobby as a whole. But in saying that, they should both like stop spamming QnA's or "Lego leaks" and create more original content such as mocs or moc series (like Solidbricks or Coconut Studios).
Hot take: Personally they messed up with the minifigures in, the Umbara tank set since Ashoka was not in the Umbara arc and we could have gotten 501st members. Also they could have made a bigger profit if the tank sold with 2 Umbaran fighter's. Minifigures then they should include personally: Five's Hardcase 2× Umbaran ground troops (plus pilots) Kix Rex
The 2021 TIE and X-Wing are actually closer to minifig scale than the 2018 variants. So for MOC purposes, you may be better off with the 2021's. But the 2018's are better models.
2013 was a bit of an overrated Lego Star Wars year, I think 2014 was the best year. I’m saying 2013 was a bit overrated because everyone says that is the best year pretty only because of the republic gunship, and P2 Captain rex. Ewok village is the best from this year however still a top 3 year just 2014 is number 1.
bro i think your forgetting about all the epic clone wars and episode 2 sets that came out in 2013 like the umbaran MHC and all of the geonosis sets. I think that 2014 and 2013 were equally the best years for lego star wars in my opinion.
1. The 212th Clone Trooper from the Umbaran Canon is my Favourite 212th Clone Trooper (He is Bright Light Orange NOT Yellow) 2 .The Animated Phase 2 Clone Trooper is the best Variant lego has made. Retro Style --- to old Realistic Style --- to much detail on a LEGO minifigure .. just buy a Actionfigures of Clones 2020 mixed Style --- for me it looks like trash just buy Decals and recreate the new Clones that came out from lego in the last couple of Years.
@@fivelonelyclones he means the ones from the clone wars like the 2014 shock trooper, the 2013 wolfpack clone, and the 2013 501st trooper. And I agree with him that they're way better than the 2020 style clones.
you said in 1:49 tht the holes are inaccurate but then show an image that proves the helmet holes are accurate when it comes to visors and macrobinioculers? i think lego decided to make make the ranger finders inaccurate to make two of the other accessories accurate
I may have been mistaken with saying the 2021 models are more accurate. I big reason why I think the X-Wing and Tie Fighter are overrated is mainly because of the prices for them.
Nah depending on the source the 2021 TIE fighter is pretty accurate. And for a fodder starfighter like a TIE fighter, 70$ is ridiculous. The 2021 TIE is VASTLY superior to the 2018. And yes clones are overrated (still great, but also overrated) and clone armies are basic AF, those 2 were spot on.
I don’t think you watched the video gangy. Old clone armies are a staple of lego Star Wars. And the 2021 tie fighter is built like a bulldog and not accurate to the actual tie fighters shown in the ot. Which is what I showed in the picture.
@@fivelonelyclones no, I mean what I said. The 2021 TIE is acceptable even by OT standards, and there are different types of TIE fighers across the source material, some being closer to the 2021. And clone armies are basic AF, staple or not ^^
@@8Smoker8yes they are basic NOW. They didn’t used to be. Idk how long you’ve been in the community but I don’t think you understand how much hype used to be around them before they got dry. Also you can mean what you said about the tie fighters but I proved you wrong and the picture in video is the evidence
Personally i like the 2021 Xwing better in terms of design, the price was a bit high but cant expect much else now. The biggest issue was the landing gear in the front had a horrible connection an is literally an illegal technique, but they let it slide
@@skinnyj123 i think It Is a general overrating, like the dropship with at ot, or the 2010 turbo tank, and the nostalgia makes up for their obvious flaws
