Idk if many are aware, but Jedi Bob is actually a random off shoot Jedi Lego threw into a set way back in the early days of their collaboration with Star Wars, before things were less strict. This is his first time being back, and with leaks going around that we are getting sets based off of this show he will actually be in a set once again. This has been a huge ask in the Lego Starwars community.
As a 51 year old I might get this. Played the older games with my daughter when she was young ( now she’s almost 17 ). This looks like it could be a hoot.
Jar Jar Binks is The Phantom Menace! George made a mistake by not having a trailer or something to tell the fans to keep an eye out for The Phantom Menace or try to figure out who The Phantom Menace might be. The hate that Jar Jar got made George self conscious and forced him to rewrite Episodes 2 and 3. Now we will never know the real story.
So there’s actually another fan service character in the trailer, one geared specifically to the LEGO Star Wars fans. This character’s name is Jedi Bob; he’s the Jedi with the brown hood, yellow face, and scratched beard. The whole story with him is that when LEGO made their first Republic Gunship set they added in an unnamed Jedi knight figure. This Jedi knight had no actual canon name or canon appearance in Star Wars, so LEGO fans gave him the name of Bob. Ever since then Jedi Bob has grown a bit of a cult following among LEGO Star Wars fans, and now he’s officially come back after about 20 years. And what’s even better for LEGO Star Wars fans is that we’re actually getting sets for this show. There’ll be a set for Jedi Bob, a set for the X-wing and Tie Fighter hybrid ships, and there will be a dark Millennium Falcon set that comes with Darth Jar Jar and a light side Darth Vader; who is based on his Star Wars Infinites portrayal (for those that don’t know, Infinites Vader is basically him with a white version of his suit after having survived the events of RotJ and becoming a sort of Jedi again). All in all I’m kind of interested in this. I don’t always check out the LEGO Star Wars shows or specials, but I’ll see how this one goes.
