Great review as always. Interesting and impressive duo host performance. There's always something novelty in your video. I enjoy them very much. On a side note, it will be awesome if you put the LEGO set number in your title, which will allow general people to search for your video a lot easier. I believe a LEGO set review as good as yours, it would definitely come out on the top result.
Probably will get this set. I don't get bored with tedious lego technic steps as I've gone through those a lot of times, and I know in the end it's worth the build. Being both a lego and f1 enthusiast really comes together here. Personally I would have wished for a lego ferrari F1 set as I'm a huge ferrari fan (those sets exist btw), but this mclaren for the 2022 f1 season is for me the best looking one so far.
Josh, another great video, thank you. If further proof were needed that you are objectively the most creative and funniest Lego RU-vidr around, then let it be that video. Subjectively awesome. Definitely smart.
To everyone complaining about this set why not buy a Tamiya model set and build it up yourself? These are Legos, doesn't matter what they're trying to replicate it'll always be a Lego set and have that Lego touch. Too many ppl here expect too much out of these Lego sets being realistic when its far from that so why even complain? It's a Lego set. Nothing more nothing less. Take it for what it is. Don't like it? Don't buy it jeez lol
I love this set. Lol. Haven’t built many technic sets. So far 4 but this is in my top three. Like the size and design. Not a huge F1 fan but def appreciate the build !
Just came across your channel and have really enjoyed the video, thank you. I built this last weekend including a Friday evening and absolutely loved the build. It looks awesome. Can't wait to get it hanging on the wall :)
I got this for Christmas. I have never really even played with legos outside of playing with random bricks and characters as a kid. This is my first whole set I’ve built and my first technic. I didn’t find it too hard, only tedious at times but heavily enjoyable and satisfying when done. I couldn’t get over the engine and differential so I was just playing with the back half of it for about a day. This set alone has exploded my interest in Lego and now want to collect more. I want some multi thousand piece ones to keep me occupied even longer. Lego world here I come!
@@JamesBricks06 well since my comment I have purchased the pyramid of Giza ,the lighthouse set and blacktron gift with purchase. The addiction has started
Ok, i don't think this was the most useful review out there but is definitely the best one I've seen and i don't say about this set, like all the lego reviews in general
Glad you dig the set. I was very excited for the build, but for $180 the mishmash of design decisions really put me off it. The chassis of the model is clearly based on the MCL35M, but they've tacked on the front of the floor and wings of the FIA '22 car. Coupled with the P Zero tire stickers instead of Cinturato, it just leaves a sour taste because it's not particularly accurate in any way. I don't mind the exposed Technic-ness of it, but I wish they would've just made a 35M model or waited for the new livery reveal and made the 36. The $15 Speed Champions model is a much better representation of an F1 car in Lego IMO.
LEGO absolutely did themselves a disservice by branding this set as the 2022 car. I get that they wanted to release this around the start of the new season, but everything you've said about the design inaccuracies is totally true.
@@audilol9845 I thought the BMW was a really terrific building experience. I'm not a bike guy so I took it apart and sold it, but the build was awesome.
The permanent open panel to showcase the engine is strange - why no option to close it. The pain with Technic set is when it comes time to dismantle it. Staying far away from Technic.
I have nothing to add as I agree with eveyrthing you say, so I'll just say that you keep outdoing yourself witht the quality and originality of your reviews!
If you blur/ defocus your eyes, it looks a lot better because you don't see all the gaps as much as you would normally. But apart from that I really want this set! Super cool and funny editing! Made the review a lot better
Bought it this morning. On the suspension / differential now. Big F1 fan, and ignoring all the “problems”. It’s also my first technic set. So, far, I think I’ll be back for more….
Great video Josh! You bring talking to yourself to the next level 😂 i don’t know if you’ve allready seen it, but Ryan aka MandRProductions just named you his new favo youtuber to collaborate with in AskMandR 213👍🏻
I don't agree with the common criticism of technic sets having gaps. I like this aesthetic. It is the 'lego technic look' which shows that it is something painstakingly cobbled together from lego. I still want it to look like lego, not like an exact miniature of the real thing.
Nice video. Just subscribed too! Can't not support a fellow F1 nerd. Also, you should get the old brick built Ferrari f1, set 8157, to out next to the McLaren.
it is amazing, I will be ordering it for sure but I'm disappointed, i wish to we could lift the hood and see the engine like in the older F1 Lego cars(42000, and so on)
The thing i hate the most about it is, that it has way to little technic functions for the price ans size. It should be in the racers series and we should get a proper technic set instead. A steering can be found in almost every lego vehicle and the transmission and differential are kind of stock parts, used in many models before. Why not giving it a proper DRS function, a more complicated transmission or just something, that gives us the feeling of f1 being the pinnacle of automotive engineering.
FUN FACT:CAME ACROSSA RU-vidR(YPM) WHO BOUGHT THIS LEGO , HOWEVER SAYS THAT THAT HE DOSENT LIKE TO BUILD LEGOS, BUT RATHER GET IT ASSEMBLED FROM SOME ONE....CAN U IMAGINE...SHESSH
