Lego Wars Series 4 Heat K 

(SPOILER ALERT) Welcome back, everyone, to the final episode of "THIRD PLACE OR THIRD RATE?" Yep, this is the final time I'll be giving my review of this little series, simply because there'll be no time to do it next week. It's been a fun little analysis and I am quietly confident with my top three picks for the automatic placements. But the question remains, how does this week's third place finisher stack up? - - - - - - Well, that's not easy to answer. WaddleDee Meta was VERY disappointing for what it was, but I do still think it performed better than Megalodon and HyperShock. It's just the question of whether it beats Chompy or not. The best thing I can do to determine this is comparing their four fights. KO VICTORY - Chompy wins No question whatsoever, Chompy's win over Pegasus was far more impressive because it controlled the fight convincingly and instigated the pitting, whereas Slammo's loss felt like a bit of an accident. Especially as the grappler was beating WaddleDee at the time. JUDGES VICTORY - WaddleDee wins Again, no question whatsoever. Whilst WaddleDee performed subpar in the face of Rusty, which it really should have pummeled, at least it kept going in for attacks. At least it moved freely. At least the music kept the same tempo. At least there was absolutely no doubt that it had won. JUDGES LOSS - WaddleDee wins This is probably the tightest one of the whole lot, because there's probably numerous ways of addressing it. However, my logic here is simple - Chompy was very lucky to reach the judges' decision. Once it lost its wheel, it couldn't do a sausage. WaddleDee, for all its issues, kept bringing the fight to Nightmare even when its internals were literally hanging out. KO LOSS - WaddleDee wins So, both robots fell into the pit because they were driving over/near it as it was being opened. Is there a difference? Two, actually. One - WaddleDee was actually performing quite well prior to its little oopsie. Two - the robot it lost to was the eventual table-topper, which must mean something. Chompy ballsed-up to the resident jokebot! That's not looking good on any resume. So, with all that in mind, and the fact that it was such a stacked heat, AND the fact that there's probably some leniency due to it being a former champion... I have to rank the robots as thus: 1. Atlas 2. Block Lobster 3. Aggro Wobba 4. WaddleDee Meta RIO: Chompy eX, Megalodon, Hypershock, Switchback, Mingo, Firestorm, Nova Believe me, this was really really difficult. At the end of the day, I think I made the right choice. Once again, I'm absolutely confident that Atlas, Block Lobster and Aggro Wobba are safely through to the Round of 32 without needing to go through the play-ins. Atlas has the most convincing performance of any third place finisher. Block Lobster looked the most impressive and actually has two KOs to its name. Aggro Wobba, whilst not looking as great, still makes it through because it's the defending champion, of course it'll be given a little extra boost. But I wouldn't be surprised if WaddleDee and Chompy are interchangeable... and if the final third-place finisher puts up a strong performance next week, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets through over it. That was a great episode and seeing Slammo doing well should lift the spirits of all robot combat fans. Also I kind of want to see a Lego Banshee from Robot Wars. Imagine trying to build that face😱

one hell of an episode! that upset by slammo in the 3 way rumble was a damn surprise! maybe even telling of the future of Danby's creation? we'll have to wait and see, maybe, just maybe. the curse will be broken

Quite disappointed the Nightmare is out. Especially since they thrashed Waddle Dee Meta. But Quantum was impressive.

I strongly agree with Anderson's claim for this being the heat of the series! This has been incredible!

Wasn't expecting that Rock, Paper, Scissors draw towards the end. That 3 way rumble was fun to watch

Looks like WaddleDee and Quantum are the hard picks for the top two, with Nightmare and Slammow fighting it out for the third place. At least the predictions are consistent. ^^ Now watch as Rusty wins. XD

Fantastic heat! Well done everyone; great bots, great driving, great commentary. That cold open was spot on too. I wasn't expecting Quantum to go unbeaten. Until the Newbie Special it was totally untested! I'm definitely thrilled to see it do what it was designed for.

I don't remember when was the last time I rooted for a robot as hard as I rooted for Slammo in the tie-breaker rumble. I'm so happy that it managed to wipe the floor with Waddledee and get its revenge. It seems so well-built and so versatile, I would love to see it go far!

That was a superb episode! All five of them were strong contenders, we got loads of great fights, and the first time we've seen a tiebreak. [SPOILER] _ _ _ The control bots coming out on top (including one of my all-time favourite Battlebots, Quantum) was just the icing on the cake!

I feel like the Meta version of WaddleDee seems to have a slower spin up time than the Too version. Also, even when it does get up to speed, it seems far less destructive. I mean, that fight against Rusty should have been an absolute blood bath. Also, make a lego Dr Fist for next year

Is Pain not coming back then?

Diddler needs to make a comeback after waddledee's performace but just revert it back to the original. Diddler mk III was a chonky boy. Bad boy!!!!
