@@Lukasito19 For sure, and by the looks of it, they look like kiddie socks! So, you can wash a maximum of 4 kiddie socks😁 or if you're lucky, 2-3 adult socks! lol
Absolutely brilliant! The drying with the rollers and the spinner finished it off so well! Kind of cheating not using Lego water though :) Your genius hey bale machine lured me back into Lego after a 25 year break so thank you 😀
@@TheBrickWallTeam hey no problem and thank you too! After building a few big projects I can only appreciate the time and effort you put into your builds! I’d dread to think how long the last car factory took!!
Really impressive concept! The original spin cycle didn't work because there is nowhere for the water to go since the drum is solid, so it soaks into the socks again as soon as the spinning stops. Most washing machines have an outer drum to catch the water and an inner drum with small holes.
I think you need a semi-permeable drum or something to otherwise hold the garments, inside a solid drum which can be drained for rinse and spin to work.
Thinking about it, if you ran the spin cycle upside down, you could probably get a bit more water out into the drainage basin before you dumped the socks. Time it so you swap the basins between those two steps instead of the rinse and spin, and you’d stop them from reabsorbing the water you spin out, which makes the press and super spin more effective as well.
It is so cool to see how you build up a washing machine out of Lego mechanic bricks. I am really curious of the theories behind your project. It should take years of knowledge and skills to complete. I could start from the basic Lego bricks. Thanks for the awesome video.
pretty neat however i think it could use a bigger flask of water, the spin cycle kinda doesnt make sense to have because its meant to get out as much of the remaining water as possible and if its just spinning without disposing the water that comes out of the clothes then its just gonna soak back into it
Dudes gonna be building and living in a “lego themed apartment” with only legos. I remember when you were first making rc versions of technic sets and now it’s food processing machines and washing machines. Your favorite part defenitley has to be the rectangular technic panel pieces
Nice try with the mangle, it's not seen often these days, but the way a mangle is worked, is by feeding a little bit into the mangle, then twisting the item of clothing, feed another little bit, twist again, etc. until done. If you turn the feed into the mangle from horizontal to vertical, you could use a crane arm with clawgrip to feed the sock (in this case) in, wait til it's 2 inches in, then twist the claw clockwise (or counter clockwise, whichever your preference may be) 3 or 4 times, then feed another inch or so in, twist again, feed another inch or so, etc. It would help if you could set up a grid underneath to catch the washed item and allow the water to drain into a tub underneath that grid, so the garment doesn't get dropped back into the water you've just mangled out of it, that should do nicely. While adding the spin cycle on the lego construct was a nice touch, the amount of RPM needed would rip the whole thing apart from centrifugal force I think, howevermuch you reinforce the structure. Also, you'd need to perforate the cylinder, to stop the water from resoaking the garment you've just spinwashed. :P
First of all it's great! A great idea, great realization, great solutions! I am amazed! Two questions at the end: 1. Where do you have all these parts? 2. Has any Doctor seen you recently? You must be nuts having the idea and making it all happen!!!! (Hope anyone will see it should be a joke)
Few things that could be changed: instead of bottle of water, there could be a pump that transports water from bigger thing - let's say barrel, similar thing with detergent, rotation of washing machine can be modified for better speed, box for dirty water also could have a pump or even there could be a pump instead of the box, dryer should use more strength and multiple lines of wheels, second part could go further after taking the socks for example to space with walls around and then it should rotate fast - in that way water will go out in shorter range to for example small box with pump. And one more thing - this socks needs to repeat washing few times to be really clean.
great video and machine one thing thought why have the water bottle mechanism when your going to need to fill it anyway why not just get to the point and fill it normally?
Nice idea with wash machine from Lego Technic 😀. I would like to invent a modern wash machine. 😊 i think you need to build dry like hands with cloth apin until water are gone.
Is it possible to create a barrel within a barrel and make it fully automatic? The spin cycle can open up the outside barrel during the spin cycle with the inside barrel being perforated to let the water out. I know legos can spin real fast with the proper gears.
Washing machine spin works by pushing the water outward through the small holes in the drum, separating the water from the clothes, where the water can be drained
