In this video, Adam goes over the basics of the 3D DISTO and how to scan a room with it. Please reach out to us at info@advanceddimensions.com or give us a call at 800.774.6102.
Great video. Thank you for the details and time spent doing it. I know that Leica makes the S910 device which can do point to point measurements. Are you familiar with the S910 being able to do the same point to point capturing as the 3D DISTO can to achieve a similar end result as you did with the 3D DISTO? The S910 is significantly cheaper.
Hey! It can do similar scans to the 3D DISTO, but you are limited to 30 points per file, and 5 files on the unit before you have to connect to a computer and offload them. You can, however, connect to a CAD program via the DISTO Transfer app for Windows to remove the limitation. Where the 3D DISTO really shines, though, is its accuracy compared to the S910. The 3D DISTO is accurate to 1mm at 10m, vs the S910, which can be up to 10mm at 10m. This is due to the S910 being manually controlled, whereas the 3D DISTO is all robotic. You also gain some functions with the 3D DISTO such as automated linear and grid scans. Hope this helps! Reach out to us if you are interested in learning more! -Noah Advanced Dimensions
Great explanation of "Fabrication" vs. "Design" Scanners. Bringing back just what you need saves time and the accuracy is excellent. The pictures that this unit takes after shooting the points of interest is very helpful as well. Thanks Again Adam!
Hi, Adam. Still enjoying our 3D Disto. Curious if Leica is planning any software updates -additional features for room scans and a speed increase would be nice. Any thoughts on Leica's plan for keeping this product competitive?
