Some great tips re street photography. Thanks. I have a few Leica lenses...for the jpegs I would set contrast to high and saturation to high. You get that Summaron look.
Why are people still so paranoid about cameras? Virtually everyone has a smart phone with a camera in their pockets and there is CCTV all over the place. Love your photos!
I mean is someone would be taking your photo with their phone it would be the same or worse. And with CCTV's, you dont notice them vs a photographer needs to get close and is out of the norm, so ofc they'll feel at least anxious about unless you are empty like GW and dont activate people's egos cause you are a hologram and totally and perfectly in place in reality, and then ppl dont notice you cause why would they, like u second guess a piece of paper on the pavement? nah its just a paper right there.
On the gear side of things, the colors and contrast coming straight out of that are stunning. Someday, when I can auction of a few of my lesser needed organs I'm going to buy a digital Leica. On the creative side, the back to back shots of the woman smoking and then the reflections in the windows were incredible. The carefree way you walk around is something that I admire. You make it look so easy. Also, good on you for sticking to your word with the first gentleman. I bet all too often he hears "sure, I'll be right back" and the people never come back.
Thanks for the kind words brother! To be honest, it's not always this easy in the streets. There are many days I go out to shoot and things just don't click. Only the days where things align get turned into a video. These videos are really hard to make for me because I like to just stay ready with my camera and stumble onto beautiful moments. This style requires I hunt down moments and that's not always a good outcome. Either way it's good practice. Thanks for watching!
The Summaron had a black version with only white lettering. 50 pieces were made exclusively for the Japanese market. This one is the Matte Black version that has white and red lettering, of which Leica has made 500 for the global market. I would have loved to have the Japanese version since it looks so pure, but I live in Northern Europe. Fast-forward a few months, and Leica released yet another black version. I was so excited about the release of the Matte Black Summaron that I ordered one the day it was announced. Still paying for it and I had to wait for 4 months to get it in my hands but gosh it was worth the wait! I absolutely love it! Summaron reviews on RU-vid are not many out there, and I thought this was going to be about the standard silver version - which is also pretty - but it was a nice surprise when I saw you were going to shoot the Matte Black :). Thank you for the education! I had a feeling this could only be speculation because if there were only 50pcs of this version the gentleman at Leica would have never sold it to my friend. Apparently it was the last one in the store at the time also. It's quite a lens and I love the black one either way. It looks perfect on the M10-P. Thanks for watching and the kind words! You should definitely cut the first 5 min. Such a relief when the weird fast paced part was over. Enjoyed the rest though. Even on video this combo showcased its special character.Wonderful.
Great images! Always found the 28mm focal length much more interesting and creative than the 35mm. A personal preference of course. ;) But to me it gives more life to the image. Hard to explain. For walking in the streets, I prefer to have a 28mm and 50mm in the bag. Very versatile combo...
That does look like a super fun lens! Kind of like the Olympus "body cap lens" I have except it's f8 instead of 5.6. I had no idea Jason Momoa was into photography, I also love the Model A he was driving! And very cool that you were able to make a relatively quiet and spread out location like Tucson work for you.

love these shots man. this lens renders colors BEAUTIFULLY. glad to see another vid, but even more glad to see you working with google. it would be dope to see you do a quick 30-hour street shooting at the various locations you go. cool way to document some of these trips outside of what you're doing for work
Haha a quick 30-hour!? Actually, I can’t lie, I was super proud of myself for making this little video in one day. It’s made me realize how capable I am at banging these out. I love this lens. It's my everyday lens. Because I use the M10-D (which is a little slimmer than the M10), I can put the camera in the back pocket of my jeans. That means I always have a Leica on me
It really depends on the image. I tend to like the energy that a crooked, rushed snapshot lends to the energy of the moment. I would say it’s a case by case situation. If the image doesn’t have any define lines that are an eyesore, I’ll let it be.
Haha it’s all love! He was very kind so I rather not stir the pot. If I ever get in an argument in the streets it always takes me out of my mood to shoot. As long as people are kind I always return the energy.
Dave H sometimes the sidewalk in front of a private property is considered legally part of their property as well. You'd be surprised at how many places you don't legally have the right to shoot in.
Hanad Ismail Well I have never heard of that and the law is this. Any image you can shoot from public space is legal. You don’t need anyone’s permission. I know Tucson well and that building does not own the sidewalk. The company may not want you to take photos but legally that have no right! The ACLC put out a good pdf on photographers rights.
Dave H I don't want to argue forever but the issue is that "public space" is defined differently in different cities/states. Property lines sometimes extend to the sidewalk. I KNOW it isn't Tucson, but as an example, here are NYCs laws when it comes to sidewalks. www1.nyc.gov/nycbusiness/article/sidewalk-usage-guide
Hey Stockezy, I have been watching your videos for sometime, specially your initial videos. However, in my opinion, the quality and the content of your photos - in recent hasn't been like your earlier videos. The new photos lack emotional punch, to me most seem more like snapshots(like most of the thousands of youtubers who just buy cameras but doesn't know how to take contentful and powerful images) compared to your earlier photos(you used to shoot with a Fuji). May be now you don't really put your sorted out works to your video, but rather quickies for reviews. Just in case if fan boys starting to fight - I have a Fuji and also a Leica. I like the Leica philosophy. Cheers
