At around 8:30, when he points out the smoothness of the film advance, that’s no joke. I have an M2, and operating the film advance is a tactile joy that benefits the overall photographic process. Just the feel of the whole camera is wonderful. But definitely, the film advance: smoooooth!
I didn't know how much the M2 fit and worked best for me until I had owned the M6 and M3. I would have kept the M3 until I wanted to shoot wider than 50mm and I don't like the M3 goggles. The M2 is perfect for me now, shoots 35mm, and love how smooth it is.
Good one man... Also you said you need to expose twice after you load the film.. I'm a noob in film photography, I can't seem to find any information online. Is that universal in 35mm film rolls? I'm having trouble to find the "start" of the film. I can't tell if the film is ready to shoot or not. Thanks in advance
Benfica é o Melhor yes this is for all 35mm film. Pressing the shutter and winding the film forward twice will make sure you have film that was not exposed during the loading process ready
I had an M2 in the 1960s when it came out after the M3 35mm is the best lens for Street photos. You have the camera with the best viewfinder there. Enjoy. I wish I still had the M2 now. Still, I have the Russian M2 now, the Zorki 4k with the awesome Jupiter 8 f2 50mm lens. The Zorki is easy to load.
Get M2 if you like the build quality, cleaner frame lines and really want the build and feel of brass, and don't mind using hand held light meter or sunny 16 rules. Get M6 if you want the meter, it is a much simpler camera to use, and much easier to find parts and get fixed if you running into problems, but it is more expensive. They are both very good cameras.
