Isn't this a beautiful waltz? First heard on a ‪@foghornstringband8418‬ record, my friends ‪@gritsgravystringband5707‬ have a beautiful double fiddle version too, so I'll always think of it as Siona's waltz. Written by Tim Foss, that second chord is a minor ii, so an Am shape if you're in G tuning like me here. However I'm roughly a whole step down, so technically fCFAC. Played on my funky Hickory Street banjo with an old unidentified pot.

God this is a beautiful waltz. I just got a new banjo and I think this is the perfect tune to learn on it. Thank you for playing this so beautifully & clearly, and for the tip about the minor ii in the description.

This is a great example of BANJO PLAYIN. When I get my banjo,, I will play it slow on purpose too. The banjo really sings out that way.. Playing fast is good too. I am going to sing when I play slow or faster... It's all good.. please make more music friend. I,m a sittin here sippin sweet iced tea...with honey mixed in, instead of SUGAR... Clover Honey 🍯 is way better then cane sugar...

Thanks Harv. Yes, playing it slower I believe lets you hear the tune better. Im bad about starting slow then all of a sudden my fingers are in a face with my brain.

Such a unique style. Ive been playing for 4 years and i still cant learn by ear. But i watch your videos slowed down a bit probably 50+ times to learn some of these songs. Ive developed so many useful tricks that i never wouldve thought of and it is just a constant source of inspiration. Thank you man!

@@BennyBleu That sounds awesome! I learned this song along with Tennessee Waltz and Winderslide. Fairy Shrimp has a real cool groove so i might like to mess around with that at some point. I also would love to figure out Acorns and Hazelnuts. Is that one in double C? Something about that melody just does it for me. But ill be following along with whatever you put out man.
