DESCRIPTION
This is the first new Android smartwatch to come out of China since the initial breakout of the coronavirus, and it looks like a nice one. It is similar in overall size to the Kospet PRIME with the same 1.6 inch screen, but the front facing camera has been relocated to the top rather than the side, and the side camera has been recessed into the body of the watch giving it a streamlined appearance.
Also available with this LEM12 is an optional 900 mAh bower bank dock that you can use for a boost should you find yourself running out of juice.

Bluetooth 4.0 ?!!! WTF ??!! NO GPS fitness app ?!!! WTF !! Main purpose of it is to connect it to a TWS earphones and use a GPS runnie app. Please LEMFO, fix those two issues, we also want a way to charge it with USBC cable.

Dude you remind me of my 10th grade biology teacher.. I actually enjoyed that class so that's a compliment especially considering that class was right before lunch and I'd have rather been cutting class to smoke some herbs but I liked the class to much to cut.. Great review BTW.. A real treasure 😉

Just stumbled across your channel, amazing videos! Really want to get a smart watch but don't know much about them. How are these watches different from TicWatch/Fossil which runs WearOS? What are the pros and cons of the two? Can the battery at least last one day? The price for these watches seem so much cheaper. Would you recommend this watch?

Since I only get one of each model, I hold on to them for comparison videos or videos showing new features added through firmware updates. Sometimes you can find second hand ones on eBay for a discount price.

Just received mine from the Lemfo Official Store and it took exactly 53 days from Singapore to Phoenix. While I grew tired of waiting I got into a very nice Garmin Tactix Delta. Sure it can't make phone calls but it can go 30 days easy between charges. After fully charging the Lemfo and turning of all the services the battery is down to 25% in 2 days so don't plan on anything heavy duty. For me this watch is more of a curiosity. It's so cool that I can make calls from it. So I'll consider this a burner watch. Good to have a cheap $5 a month second cell phone number. The camera feature is kinda cool as well.

Great to have more than one so you can use the appropriate one at the appropriate time. Your heavy boots will work out in the mud, but wouldn't be quite right on the dance floor.

thanks for the great reviews! Should this not be titled "Phone watch" ? Can you clarify, that it wont bluetooth to a mobile phone ie: be a smart watch? Also do you know if they have updated the firmware for the GPS for sports apps?

Actually, they often refer to these as watch phones. True, it won't bluetooth tether for phones. Earlier ones running on Android 5.1 can so that though, like the Lemfo LEM4. No, I don't know if the firmware has been updated across the board for GPS/fitness integration.

Yea, it's been talked about a lot, and I'm constantly telling folks that I don't have time to test battery life and recommending users comment about their personal results, so the info is probably in the comments if you want to dig for it. I plan to do some battery testing on the new LEM12 PRO because it is Android 10 and we don't know much about that yet. bit.ly/3ollyYb

Excellent watch AND excellent review. Congratulations. You missed an issue that I find interesting, mostly for us thick fingers people: the QWERTY keyboard. Can you upload this? Another issue I saw, why the specs say 900 MaH battery and the paper printed info says 1800MaH? Which one is the true capacity? Greetings from Colombia.

Take the IP ratings with a grain of salt. At best you should be able to survive light splashes on Android smartwatches with removable bands. I've got a teardown video of one of the first claiming waterproofing where it died after being dunked underwater to find out why. You might get lucky, and buy one that actually will work well with water, but the pressure of swimming on the watch would probably kill it over time. If you really want a waterproof watch, look for a rating of 5ATM. The IP67 and IP68 have been abused so badly in China that I'd go with their "lifestyle waterproof" as a more refined rating (and to this day it remains undefined). The best advice is, don't get it wet. If you must get it wet, look for one with removable bands, a tightly sealed back, and look very carefully at how they handle the watch body to band interface, the SIM cover (screws better than snap on for waterproofing) and, of course, the buttons (which is impossible to really check, as is the speaker and microphone ports, but just be aware water can get in there too).

Good to see your ok. Wish everyone the best. Lem12 is a cool smartwatch. Up to date design. Though I'm more supportive of The Genesis and Janus, the Lem12 is a welcomed competitor. Should work, hold press any icon on the top right screen, where you have brightness icon, location icon, wifi icon, e.t.c., to bring up a slider for brightness and the like. I've had a Kospet Optimus Pro for a long time and never knew that.

No NFC but yes for Google Assistant. It does "OK Google" out of the box, but easy to download and activate the Assistant app from the Google Play Store on the watch.

I'm on it as we speak, and I'll tell you up front, I'm still smitten for the Genesis. Hands down a better watch. The harder choice would be picking 2nd best between the LEM12 or the Kospet Prime. Comparison video of all three coming up within a week.

Water resistance is pretty much the same on them, though I will talk about the bottom design and which may be 'better' but none of them would be safe dunked underwater. I'll see what I can do for the outdoor display demo.

If you want ambient always on display, Thor 5 Pro. If you want extra battery life with power bank, then LEM12. Otherwise, they are pretty similar.

WHY does nearly no new smartwatch have a transreflective display‽ I use the Amazfit Stratos and love to have this kind of display (it's so clear even in bright sun and uses so less power).

I've wondered that for quite awhile. I had to fight tooth and nail along with Jason to get the same screen from the Thor Pro to be used on the Genesis. Here in 2020 those are still the only two Android watches using this technology. I don't understand it either. It's like the Chinese developers don't expect folks to ever look at a watch outdoors.

Two totally different watches. You like dress shoes or running shoes? So start with do you want a round watch or square one, and take it from there. If you'll be doing lots of Android apps, square watches are better for seeing the corners easily. If you'll just be playing with watch faces and streaming music, round ones are more fun, generally.

Well, I know how to unbox these things and fiddle with them on camera, but I'm way removed from sales and shipping of these watches from the vendors, so I really can't guess as to how it will go over the next few weeks, either from China or in transit or within your country. Great question though. Ranks up there with what the weather will be like when the watch arrives.

i need a little better IP rating (at least ip68 ) I don't need no extra charge thingie, I don't want the side camera. I do like the front camera placing much better than the one on the genesis and on the prime. I also want more metal on the casing and overall better build quality and wireless charging is a must. the people manufacturing these watches need to up their game, this is just not good enough for 2020. Hi, it's a nice watch to buy but before i make purchase if you can give me a bit more info on the straps would be great. It comes with 22mm standard size straps but can i change it to bit wider size? Will it fit? Or it has to be 22mm?

The pins through the band holes need to be 22mm like with any regular watch. Some bands are made to fit 22mm but then flare out wider to give the illusion of being wider. They might work if they contour properly around the watch body.

If you're planning on calling all day long from an Android smartwatch, I doubt the battery will survive without charging. I haven't tested it, but 4G LTE takes a lot of power, and these watches barely make it through the day as is, so plan on having a way to charge it if needed.

No, you didn't miss it. These are simple unboxing and first look reviews, so, obviously, I wouldn't know battery life for a watch just out of the box. I haven't followed the WearOS/Tizen market that much as I'm perfectly happy with my Galaxy Gear S3 Classic. If you want to go new, and want to remain in the same league as the LG, Samsung is releasing the new Watch 3 in a week or two, and Apple's Watch 6 is next week.

Depends on what features you're looking for as most of them are Android 7 with 3GB/32GB, removable bands, one or two cameras, etc. Just check out the most recent Android smartwatch reviews. I like the Kronos Blade Genesis best.

Unless you get it within 3 days, any virus that could be there should not be active as they've been testing for how long it can last on different surfaces and the longest has been about 72 hours.

Sure it does! These are android watch phones so all the Google stuff works. Try some Google Go apps on your watch for fun. I think you'll find they are faster.

Yes, like all Android smartwatches, you can download watch faces. I have several videos that talk about that. Battery hasn't been tested yet. Yes, like all Android watches it can be connected to your phone to receive notifications. Watch the video about that under the link to the tethering app in the show notes. Only the final two custom faces with touch buttons and animation that I demoed can be put on the Prime, and they are available from Al Rod. The rest are stock faces installed in the LEM12 firmware and unless somebody extracts them, they are locked in the watch.

None of the Android watches have now or are likely to have in the future, NFC. It requires the licensed OS from Google, WearOS for that feature. Add $100-$200 to what you see here and shop for WearOS watches if you want "Google Pay" or get a Galaxy Watch from Samsung for "Samsung Pay" or an Apple watch for "Apple Pay" or a Mr. Ticks' watch for "Ticks Pay" Oops! Getting ahead of myself there.

It's probably splash resistant, but I wouldn't recommend dunking it underwater. Some claim IP67, but China tends to play loose with the specs (IP67 should survive up to a meter underwater for up to 30 min).

trying to decide between kospet prime and lemfo lem12. I see that the kopet has blood pressure but i kinda like the look of the lem12 brown leather. any recommendations or differences that I should consider? I also see a Ouikitel z32 that looks just like the lem12 but a little cheaper.

I've got a comparison video coming up real soon between these two and the Genesis, and I think a lot of your questions will be answered. What I don't go over there is the feel on your arm. The Prime, with it's wide 24mm stiff bands, doesn't sit well on my arm. It either flops around or hugs too tight. I really like chasing between three bands for the Genesis, and the brown leather LEM12 band fits me nicely. But there's a lot more in the video related to the watches themselves.

No this one can't support Bluetooth calls. There's a discussion on the Genesis Facebook feed that you may want to read regarding mirroring SIMs so that if your phone rings your watch rings and you can answer either one, even if you only have one of them with you. Thanks for your videos Sir, I became an addict. And you respond pretty quickly as well! I asked for your recommendations and you gave some. Now I understand you can't tether and take a call if you pick an android watch. Is there any exception to that? Just a big screen watch that has its own GPS and WIFI and can tether, even if I would give away the SIM card stand alone thing. I almost bough this one on Alibaba for 114$ plus tax but I figured out I might bot be able to take the call from the phone through the watch so I put it on hold for now. It is just I don't understand, if it has a bluetooth, a mic and a speaker why can't I do it?

Seems to be that the Prime has a bigger battery so is slightly taller, with the newer fitness apps using GPS on is firmware, both have removable bands, this lem 12 has the external battery pack and takes higher resolution pictures. Other than that they both run Android 7.1.1, after that it seems to be mostly cosmetic, so functionally not much difference in it really.

Are you commenting under the right video? The LEM4 PRO is a rectangular watch. Don't you mean the LEM10 or LEM11? Also, I'm not sure what measurement would be from pin to pin.

@@SWT I know that this one is round, not like Lem4 PRO, but I don't see any replacement for it with newer android (Lem T is too big for me and You can't change straps on it) By "from pin to pin" I meant distance between strap pins (to see how big it would be on my wrist). On older videos you always measured it, but lately I have seen that you sometimes skip that :-(

Oh, I skip it as it hasn't changed in years now. Narrowest on Android watches is 22mm and the largest, like on the Prime is 24mm. Of course, that excludes the out-of-normal sizes like the LEM 4/T/X, etc.

Yes; Colombia doesn't want phones being imported. You need to register the phone to be able to use it in Colombia, or buy your phone in Colombia.

Oh Oscar, if you check any of the comment strings under the past 10 video's I've posted you'll see I'm being asked in each one to review the LEM12 PRO. You'll also see my very reasonable answer: I don't have mine yet. It is in the mail. I wanted to review it first, but the PRIME 2 came in first. I wanted to review it 2nd but the THOR 6 came in 2nd. I wanted to review it 3rd, but it hasn't come in yet so I reviewed the Android 7 DM20 instead. I want to review it next, but it isn't here, so I'll be reviewing health bands and watches until it arrives. That is why I am not reviewing the LEMFO LEM12 PRO.
