Lemmings series are very famous game in 90's. It has released by many platforms such as MS-DOS,Apple Macintosh,Amiga,Atari ST and so on. Thus, I skip its explanation.
my secondary school used to let myself and a friend use the IT room whenever we wanted and used to play this and some demoscene demos a lot. the Archi had great audio. I had an ST at the time, then Falcon 030, then onto PC to now
We had this as well. There was an educational game, where you was in a Amazonian type village and you could type in questions for the villagers to answer.
As an ST owner, and also having played the Arch and Amiga versions, I was disappointed with the lack of sound effects (later in Lemmings 2 they rectified this with clever programming without dedicated hardware, but we still had the chip tunes) :)
On Level 11 you can actually cheat. If you put a stopper on the corner of the arrow bunker and blow em up, you can actually bash through (midway between the two) the arrows and the metal floor! No idea how, but the combo of the two materials must confuse the code somehow. Loved this game, played it sooo much as a kid. The music by Mr Furniss is classic.
Anyone know if this game was an official release for the Acorn? It's not on the Wikipedia list of released games. Perhaps it was unofficial? At least I know it's real, I do remember playing this and Battlechess on Acorns at school (Battlechess is also not listed as an official release!)
David White it’s official. It was also a pack in game with the Acorn with some collections. I have an original copy with me. Plays great, I grew up with Amiga version but the Archie does it well.
Sorry, the Amiga sounds much better and is the definitive version. This sounds good and I like some of the arrangements, but the Amiga music is leagues better.
