I love this song but all the comments are saying stuff about the heartbeat in the background and I haven't heard it yet but I'm so scared for when I do
I wanted the eyes of the mask to open so the video was actual nightmare fuel rather than just a (really nice) song about nightmare fuel. The heartbeat in the background was a nice bit of detail.
The verse about video logos and their synthesizers was pretty much my childhood nightmare fuel... That, and the ending of audiobook cassettes/CDs- the weird jingles and the monotonous narrators' voices telling you that THIS ENDS SIDE ONE.
same i think i’m obessed with this song… i taught myself how to play it on the piano out of boredom and wrote all the lyrics down one night, wiht no refrence, just shows i know every lyric by heart now. oh god
I was never able to listen to this song idk why, it gave me such a bad feeling, a weird shiver in my very bones!!! I have no trouble with it now but was hard!
View Monster is one of my very favorite albums of anything ever, though I think this song would work a bit better on Spirit Tracks? I mean, no way to change it now, lol, but really. View Monster is fucking STELLAR.
@@Persun_McPersonson Well, it may no longer still be around here on RU-vid, but you might still be able to find it elsewhere. If you google it, it may turn up.
Curly McJensenpants That's why I added the bit about an unfinished album - everything recently has been from things not released on other albums. Could have worded it better.
am i the only one who can't hear a heartbeat in the background??? everyone in the comments is talking about how creepy it is, but i honestly don't hear it oh nvm my volume was too low.
This song makes me smel something and it's not feeling like a good feeling- it smells like a cheap sweet smell in the very back of the smell, but at the front of my nose it smells like the type of plastic the thing in the photo looks like
I feel so bad because I LOVE ALL of Neil's music and I listen to it everyday and view-monster is great yET whenever I listen to this I feel sick somehow it's pretty awful and the song is good!!!!! Yet I can't listen because it's painful aaa!!!
I JUST REALIZED "good old fashioned nightmare fuel" HAS THE SAME NUMBER OF SYLLABLES AS "teenage mutant ninja turtles" AND I WANT A PARODY OF THIS USING TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES INSTEAD
Fond memories of when i was left alone in my new empty house for the first time (i hadnt been in it before and i was like 11) at night for a couple hours and told to sweep the floors.. i had this song on and for some odd reason i was horrified because i thought i kept hearing sounds and i was basically just exploring this house . I think abt it now every time i hear it i miss those days
Damned clowns And the puppets with human hands Mannequins moving, my mind barely understands Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel I turn away and close my eyes But it's hard not to visualize some Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Damned dolls And the robots with human eyes Uncanny valley disfigured dehumanized Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel My heart, it beats at record rates When Stephen Gammell illustrates some Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Rapidly aging and melting away Buzz-saws for hands and monsters of clay When video-tape logos emerge from the void And the unearthly synthesizers they employed was Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel I close my eyes and turn away But half my mind still wants to play with Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel Good old fashioned Nightmare Fuel (Fade out)
