Yes. Remembering our loved friends is always important. We cry not of sadness but for "saudade". There is no bad feeling, no sadness, no regrets for those whom have done all they could to their friends in life; while alive. Tears in such moments are a proof of love and humanity, it helps us grieve and give value to our lives and the great things we have done toguether. Buon appetito!

First time I watched this, I clicked on it because I love his recipes and they all look so good, but by the end I was an absolute wreck. As soon as he sits down and says “memories” and starts to think about how much he misses his dear friend, I’m done for. I actually feel my heart breaking and there’s no stopping the waterworks. If I ever have the pleasure of meeting Gennaro, I’m giving him a hug (however I will ask if it’s ok with him first). I wanted to reach through the screen and give him one at the end.

Thiss felt like a scene from a movie towards the end when a guy misses his old friend. I mean if you see a scene like this in a movie, it'll hit you so hard, but movies are made that way to be more dramatic, but this isn't a movie. I really didn't expect this watching a cooking video, even when it started the way it did. It still seems a bit surreal to me, to be so touched by a short video of someone cooking a simple pasta dish.

You nearly made me cry myself, Antonia Carluccio was a beautiful man with a beautiful soul, I had the the pleasure to work alongside his chain for 7 years, he was the best boss I ever had, I had the pleasure to meet him many times!…. Over the years I saw many different individuals showing their passion for food and some try to express how they feel about their friends. However, this video showed me what a perfect recipe of pure love of friendship and food really is. There are really no words that can describe this ultimate friendship. Huge respect from Florida and thank you for sharing. EDIT: I was so emotionally inspired by this video that I actually just made this dish for my family. It came out so delicious that I can't express how great and blessed I feel right now. For some reason or another this dish feels very special to me now even though I have no relationship to Gennaro & Antonio .

I can really relate to this Video. My best friend and I though that we are young cook for each other and together and have a lot of fun doing so. It's just like with people going nuts when a traditional recipe is altered because it's not just the food itself that makes it great or taste good but also what you associate with it.

This just sets a lump in my throat and a tear to my eye. I’ve watched the Two Greedy Italians over and over again and just loved their friendship, lust for life and of course their food. Their love and joy for Italy made such an impression on me that I sold all I had and moved there 5 years ago! I am still here! I met my wife in Rome and we married in Umbria and moved to Tuscany! Even now I still watch their old episodes and even some of Antonio’s old TV snippets! Thank you to you both and thank you Gennaro for sharing as keeping his memory alive for us. Big hug.

thats what cooking truly is, a memory and a window into loved ones we have lost, friends and family who loved food and that you miss because you can no longer eat and love food together.

This is the first cooking show, that ever brought me to tears and made me ugly cry. When I cook something that I know my best friend liked- I talk to him as If he was still with me. It’s been three years since he died - and I still get emotional buying stupid mushrooms . Thank you for sharing this moment with us - it was very touching and emotional and sweet- and it’s a dish I will definitely try!

I am a Canadian....from Danish heritage. Having said that...I have always felt a connection with the Italian culture. Love....love...Italian food...and so love watching the Italian cooking. This video not only melted my heart...but encouraged me to try the recipe out... and... it was AWESOME!! Thank you for posting this...and love to your special friend.🥰
